It's the digital age. If these preachers really wanted to spread the word of their god as efficiently as possible, they'd do livestreams instead of flying everywhere. You can still gather people in a big hall in front of a huge screen and preach to them from the other side of the world. But then, people might not be willing to pay as much for that, would they?

I began using my brain when I stopped reading the Bible around 12 years old leaving Catholic School. There may well have been a historical Jesus, I believe it, but since his quite mortal passing the Bible has been written by salesmen with their own interesting views on how people should live their lives. All under the fear of not being in the "I'll get to go to heaven and you won't" club.

My old pastor (bishop) at Mt Gilead FGIM has a private jet with gold trim and landing strip at their church... I was so conflicted because there are people that live below the poverty line that attend these churches... One of the many reasons why I don't attend church anymore.

Actually the donkey wasn't a sigh of Jesus' humility. It was a practical thing in jerusalem, which is made of almost only ups and down ways. Even Pilatus and king heron would ride a donkey. It was literally impracticable to ride a horse inside Jerusalem.

I might be wrong, but when I read the Bible Jesus chose a life of suffering, no money and no entitlement or ownership. He died with one piece of cloth on him, that is what he had. He spent his time with the sinners, prostitutes and thieves. You are correct. Its in the bible look for Mark 2:15 -17. What this man is doing goes against everything Jesus taught. Him being the son of God did not have a place to lay his head... and he still preached to a whole lot of places. A friend of mine did her dissertation on sects, and she went to some of these evangelist meetings, and that's exactly what was going on. Well, not private jets, but the preacher, in between speaking in tongues, said things like "jeeeessuuuuus we deeeeemaaaaand economic profit, we deeeemaaaaand it! Halleluleeeeeeeliiiia!". And made passive aggressive comments about donating enough money, or else. Jesus only loves you if you pay enough money!
They weren't even hiding that they were a huge money scam. She filmed some of it and showed it to me and some friends, and I'm still not sure if I should be morbidly fascinated or horrified. Possibly both.

What really hurts is how much these people are hurting other churches & pastors who really do missions within the community & abroad. Pastors are to be servants first and I know many who truly try to live the life of Jesus as much as they can and living modestly. These con men are destructive and self serving.

GroovyVideo2 I’ve had quite a few pastors. Only one was found to be crooked, and believe me he’s no longer allowed in any facility associated with our churches. Anyways my current pastors don’t even get paid by the church. Theyd work their own day jobs and let that money go for paying for the structure and anything else the church needs, and a lot of it goes to funding missioners. In simple words, our pastors would have never neglected to pay a men for any work that was done for the church.

As sad as it is, the reason this stuff happens is people want to believe in something that will drastically change their lives, and televangelists are experts at giving them exactly that. It unfortunately discredits pastors and Christians who have a true love and faith and do what they do for the good of themselves, their families and their communities.

The gospel was the reason the West surpassed the rest of the world with all Europe’s flaws and evil the few good people pushed the need for hospitals, education and better treatment...also a more equalized approach to life...the belief if you work hard you can prosper instead of being born in a set caste came by way of the gospel...The USA Puritans are mocked but look at how people in India are treated just because of their skin color and caste...the gospel propelled the African American church to gain incredible rights for Black Americans...in many parts of Africa ..Africans are making strides in business etc, through the teachings and encouragement of the church..Hinduism says you are nothing if you are dark-skinned and if you are born in the wrong caste you are fixed..Muslims also hate dark skinned people and treat them like crap...every religion has evil people but the only religion whose sincere adherents made radical worldwide difference to improve lives look to Jesus followers who took his Truth and lived it

I'm a believer in Jesus but this guy clearly has his priorities messed up. My grandma has been a missionary for twenty something years in India (fifty degrees in summer and monsoon rains. Sound comfortable?) - and no-one knows her name except her close family and friends. You know why? She is the most humble person I know - not interested in money, wealth or comfort. In fact, she has been through the most uncomfortable situations in order to reach people who are truly suffering in life threatening ways. From caring for starving fifteen year old boys and girls in prison for life, just for stealing a packet of chips, to showing love to elderly ladies packed into prison cell rooms so small that they literally have no privacy. THAT is what true faith in God looks like - not this lie that we need to be all comfortable in order to be blessed and to bless. It's the opposite - the less we have physically, the more we can rely on God to get us through. That is incredible faith. That is incredible love. Jesus didn't arrive and become the grandest, richest, flashiest King the Jews and the world had ever seen - he came from heaven's riches down to live as a lowly carpenter's son. He wasn't much to look at physically (Isaiah 53 verse 2) and he was looked down upon by high up religious leaders to the point that they wanted to kill him (Matthew 12:14). But you know what Jesus had instead of riches, which rot away anyway over the years? He had deep love for those who were at the end of themselves. He healed those who had given up. He saw and lifted the broken ones. He came down to their level and said "I am not afraid of being seen with you. I am not afraid of your struggles and demons. I love you. Follow me - I will be with you to the end of the age. " That is real life.
What im saying isn't to feel bad if you do own enough money to support yourself and your family - what I'm saying is that we shouldn't cling to our money and continuously want more and more materialistic stuff just so we can create a high - up image of ourselves. That's pride and greed - two things Jesus definitely did not preach ❤❤

...it's very frustrating sometimes to see such blatant swindling greed, so obvious and out in the open, and yet people just keep on giving these serpents their money. I just don't know anymore.
I see this prosperity gospel snake-oil salesmen preaching on late night TV at the nursing home I work at almost every night. One resident wanted to find her wallet and a phone and I was thankful she was physically unable to do so. If I hear about a "thousand dollar seed" one more time I'm going to lose my mind.
Send him an actual bag of seeds with a note saying "You wanted seeds, here's your seeds, crook! If you plant them, maybe you'll have a thousand dollars worth of trees someday!"

Christabel Hammond I've noticed that Trevor's being used to poke fun at or make light of Christianity, Jesus and the Bible more often. It's common in the UK too. Christians, real Christians are the easy targets as there's no repercussions to insulting our faith. I'm clearly not in support of people falsely using God's word in order to profit but why then attack the foundation of our faith. The supposed joke' in the car poked fun of Jesus's sacrifice of His life in the Cross to save our lives. That was really sad and in really poor taste. People should however know that this is not new, in the past we were burnt at the stake, insulted and pushed out of countries such as Syria and more. Now the media and others are trying to burn all knowledge of Jesus out of society by focussing on unsavoury elements within the Christian religion. The thing is this, Trevor and his mates will not even dare to attack the two other major faiths due to risk of retaliation.
