  • #AnnaWintour and the making of #Vogue.
Anna Wintour, the legendary editor-in-chief of Vogue magazine for twenty years, is the most powerful and polarizing figure in fashion. Hidden behind her trademark bob and sunglasses, she has never allowed anyone to scrutinize the inner workings of her magazine. Until now. With unprecedented access, filmmaker R.J. Cutler’s new film #TheSeptemberIssue does for fashion what he did for politics in THE WAR ROOM, taking the viewer inside a world they only think they know.

She is Anna! It's on record everything she adores and despises so when she has this look of " disappointment", it's A. because she is in the room with people she has been collaborating all throughout the year with that for some reason can't see her vision (um hello Winter can be colorful...don't let your own personal experience of a season define everyone elses!) or B. She is having to state the obvious with locations and aesthetics (if it feels gloomy and lacks vibrance it isn't Vogue Standard 9 times out of 10)...Watching these documentaries I can say so far I haven't found her to be unreasonable once and that is due to her FASHION FORWARD intellect, being able to see the evolution and not being in qualms over a concept that doesn't serve the magazine. I'm not saying she's perfect by any stretch but she's the Chief with a very rational/clear path who is giving sound criticism along with advice to colleagues that she is not removed from at all or feels above them in any sense. I can see how invested she is throughout each minute detail and all aspects of the business that are demanded from the lavish galas to the daily minutiae of a fitting or conceptualisation. I hope her all the contentment and respect due her as well as the divine Grace Coddington because at the end of the day what she has achieved does matter and provides countless people for their ideas and dreams to come to fruition! Success is a marathon and she is a prime example of following your instincts even if it means butting heads with a director or two, (Spoiler: pink is considered pastel and does correlate with Spring so hence does not give precedent for a snide remark about your bosses affinities for fashion) and her words need to be adhered to!!

Just watched this on prime, for the first time ever! I don't think Anna was anywhere near as awful as she's quoted to be, as for her being just like Meryl Streep's character "Miranda Priestley" from "The devil wears Prada", utter nonsense! Anna Wintour is a fighter, wouldn't be where she's at today without possessing the instincts of a stone cold killa'! I get the feeling her family are quite brutal with her, maybe seeing her as an under achiever, in comparison to them but if you go through your life, comparing yourself to others, you're going to be totally miserable! God love & bless Anna Wintour, I think she's fabulous!...

That’s why you’re not the editor in chief. She demands a level of elegance and chic, don’t get mad get proud.!

I don't agree with her. Fashion often gets inspired by the past.
