I also agree that Lupita looking away from the camera is better, it's so mysterious it really grabs one's attention, a real pity that it wasn't the chosen shot.
The problem with the pictures of them looking directly at you, is that you don't see the jewelry. Your focus is on the face of the person, not the object. The Lupita one was a good example. The one where is is looking away, makes you focus on the jewelry.
I wish there’s more content about Grace doing this creative work. I admire her so much. I’ve watched The September Issue a lot of times and I’m just mesmerized by her wisdom, grace, and creative genius.
Exactly and I knew they would go with the more commercial photo choice of Lupita, the one that oddly enough takes ALL the focus OFF the jewelry. Predictable. The money people almost always make the wrong artistic choices.
Well, I don't understand it. Why should there be a need for uniformity? The pictures share a blue background. They have ladies dressed in black, they're all actresses. That's not uniform enough?
The photo of Lupita looking away was the best photo.. The jewelry looks amazing, she looks beautiful, and you can see the jewelry and focus on it. It’s the only one that looks different and modern. It’s the only one I would notice.

Grace is amazing but she needed Anna's edited. Together they made an amazing team. Remember in "the September issue" when Grace wanted that pink coat with the big hands on it? Anna said, "NO". The thing looked like something out of a horror movie. So Grace is the best at what she's does but then needs someone else to pull her back in a bit like Anna did.
To the woman with bad hair and heavy eyeliner: You hired Grace Coddington to help you change your ad campaign and make it modern. She told you the photos cannot be contrived and yet you didn't listen to her "years of experience and knowledge" and went ahead with your choice. The result is exactly what Grace told you. The photo of Lupita looking at the camera is contrived and takes the viewer's attention away from Tiffany's Jewelry. I hope you learned your lesson and don't make the same mistake when you hire someone of that caliber to help you with your sales.
@I i agree totally! when you have" the eye" you have it! she naturally makes a difference in every job! ...she could turned that typical jewelry ad style!!! although yes they would have listen to Grace on Lupita's picture.....a shame...if you call such a great stylist you pay attention! what a humble and talented person she is!
She was right about Lupita! 😢 If you ask someone with her years of experience to work with you and then you over rule then what was the point! #missedopportunity 😮
Christy's photo also doesn't respect her directive of "very close up photos, like headshots". No wonder why she says "they look like jewelry ads" because they are two far away, disconnecting her photo from the series.

This is beautiful! Tiffany is not just for young girls but accomplished successful women too. I admire the two female directors and think they overlooked themselves as major icons worthy of the beautiful designs.
I completely agree. Also-- Tiffany is so expensive, but it's an expensive that would be really beautiful to see on a mature woman who's had an accomplished career. I think that more expensive pieces/wardrobes are rewards that come with age, and since the men are already removed from this campaign, adding that bit of wiser independence would be a great touch. WHY????
She said it herself. It was a large campaign that she knew all the decisions weren’t going to be her own. 🤷🏽♀️
grace coddington is a legend... she's my ultimate fashion industry role model, a woman of astounding creativity... very hardworking too
Perfect in every way!
Classic, she just has such a great eye and instinct. I'm speechless. I really appreciate Grace's comment at 5:00. Even legends get imposter syndrome but just they've learned to trust their intuition.
Christy Turlington is stunningly gorgeous...
Susan Dey is GORGEOUS; Turlington is so UGLY and scrawny looking, ugh!
Larry you have no concept of beauty! Christy Turlington is awe inspiringly beautiful!
Oh, Grace is so good! This campaign came right on time. The modern women don’t need romantic almost “wedding photo” campaign, something like this is simply beautiful yet striking. You can be independent and having a wonderful life just on your own. Good job, Tiffany! BTW, I also like the lupita looking away pic more. It got attitude in there.
"I am not saying I'm right, I am saying what I believe"...A lot of people including me, needs to fully understand thoa statement...
"I just had an epiphany i need to go to Tiffanys" - Queen Nick
ten minutes of feel good
“These are for us to play with..”
(….staring at an entire array of Tiffany’s…me weeping)
I agree with the images she picked , some looking away or tilted but like she said the final decision isn’t always hers .
What I can say about Tiffany & Co
Just simply ... for the ppl who understand the classic story )

I usually hate celebrity add campaigns. But this one seemed to work.
Absolutely stunning, the photos that were chosen, were perfect in every way. How truly wonderful. 🙂
