this might have started out as documentary about Vogue under Anna0s leadership but what it really showed was Grace Coddington was the true gem and artistic drive and heart in Vogue. she's beyond amazing.
@Imane Mourady I think he's always been talented though. He became fashion director at i-D when he was 18 and did that for a while. Historically the Vogues are a bigger and more mass luxury type brands and are backed by culturally traditional executive boards and so it wasn't really until recently when white privilege became under scrutiny that a black man could be considered as editor in chief for a Vogue brand
I think people call the Ice Queen or whatever because she knows what she wants and can make decisions. If she was a man no one would be calling her that.
@@osjuchavawords like “ice woman”, still… actually expecting the stereotype that woman has to be “congenial” Maybe man should learn how to smile these days, i dunno 🤗
"there's always a way to wear fur; personally I having on my back" and theme the look that Grace Coddington throws at her when she's saying that. 😂😂😂😂😂
I remember, before the internet was everything, I loved American Vogue. I'm in Australia and I never enjoyed our local one. It didn't have such amazing photography and models, articles etc. It was damn expensive for a teenager still in school. Amazing how the world has changed just in my lifetime.
1:02 ...and that is mainly the attitude of some people who can afford it or even work in the industry. Not to say that there are not arrogant people in all kinds of peer groups, but mainly, if they make others nervous (or their main interest does), it is due to their behavior not some attitude of people outside their interests.
Fashion is all about wearing clothes that accentuate the positives and that you feel confident and fabulous in. If wearing a pair of J Brand jeans makes you feel good, awesome! If wearing a pair of great-fitting jeans you found on the clearance rack at Target - more power to you! Some people choose to wear articles of clothing only because they're the next "in" thing or because of the designer's name, and they look like crap.
This comment is so old but yeah, she always on time. Fashion shows (at least the one in Paris) usually start pass the time scheduled because they wait for the invited guests to arrive before start the show, apparently Anna said something about this and all fashion show start their event on time whether their guests arrive or not. Some even more strict, for example Channel would close their gate once the show started that even you're invited you cannot go in if you're late.
00:12 Someone's very much enclosed in her own world there. How about: not everybody has the same hobby or even the same income and some people either cannot afford high fashion or are genuinely disinterested because to them, other things are important that maybe are not as important for Ms Wintour?
Maybe don’t cry about the salt in your wound because it wasn’t put there by anyone but you. She’s talking about how people stereotype people who have an interest in fashion as ‘dumb’. You’re the perfect example of the type of person she was talking about, you can’t even get 15 seconds into the video and you’re already pressed.
Yes, why do people who don't "get fashion" or are always dogging it always have something to say about it? Or always seem to be the ones watching all the same videos those of us who are "into" fashion watch So I guess those people who are always dogging fashion (esp Haute Couture shows/clothes) get up everyday, eat & go out into the world naked? If you hate the industry so much don't support it by wearing clothes, shoes, jewelry & other accessories... Don't watching these videos if you hate it
People are afraid of the different bc they dont understand it,and think they do wherever there is change there is innertion ,if you develop a taste of what do you wanna wear and you can afford the clothes i dont see why not?
Why are most of these fashion people so homely and raggedy looking? I mean, comb your hair, slap some makeup on...geez! Another thing, it's odd how somebody would spend so much money to look like a hobo.
They have important jobs and need to be taken seriously, as well as the fact that they work in fashion and probably don’t care about keeping up with trends that other people like and just wear what they like. You’re kind of the exact person she was talking about in the first 10 seconds of the video…
this might have started out as documentary about Vogue under Anna0s leadership but what it really showed was Grace Coddington was the true gem and artistic drive and heart in Vogue. she's beyond amazing.
She needed Wintour and vice versa.
Sure, but she doesn’t have the business skills to run a magazine. Anna has both.
@@usforsarahYes! Love Grace, btw
I remember Edward from this, he really stood out even though his appearances were few, he just carries a light!!!!
Edward is now editor in chief of Vogue UK. So happy for him.

And if it was so good, why did Grace do her photo shoots again?
perfect use of that Ladytron song 💙

I think people call the Ice Queen or whatever because she knows what she wants and can make decisions. If she was a man no one would be calling her that.

This is the movie where I fell in love with Grace Coddington. Too bad I ve discovered this woman too late
Why too late? She's still alive. She's still working.
Ms. Coddington is actually the real talent there at Vogue.
RIP ANDRÉ LEON TALLEY😭❤️

Destroy Everything You Touch by Ladytron
Ladytron - Destroy everything you touch
Anna Wintour is spot-on and her remarks about people mocking something relate to so much of our world today.
Couldn't agree more!
I love her
I saw it on Netflix. :)
"pair of J BRAND blue jenas..." Anna I;m wearing them right now yay :)
While I don't like the fashion industry, you can't deny how amazing and inspiring Anna is
When this came out, it was so sharp and on-trend, and now, it just looks quaint, and super dated.
What it takes to get a major fashion magazine issue ready.. this the name how you can found it...
Wow the heydays of glossy magazines! All gone now...
love her intro monologue so much.
The frank underwood of the fashionworld? But its interesting how she made her way to the top.
I'm watching House Of Cards and this comment is so on point lmao
love it. Anna is just such a great figure
Where to watch the whole thing?
I don't know anyone who's excluded from fashion, only those who feel so, which is a very very ignorant thing
She's a very smart lady. Enough said.
love you anna! :D
Did...did he just not high five our lord and savior Vera fucking Wang?..
Thank you so much! :))
can someone tell me where can I watch the full movie ?
100% agree
Does anyone know the name of the sonf that starts at 1:10?
Rostwizen Majed Salih
Iconic woman right there
This was before the fall of zines...
Love Her!!!!1
I dont see an Ice Queen, Goddess, or Bitch. I see an awkward, powerful Woman that just loves fashion.
where can i get the full movie?
Got the DVD on amazon.
Does anyone know which designer has the fashion show that starts at 3:45?
Does anyone know the name of the background song that starts @ 03:13? please let me know ^^
then why comment on this video if you don't care about fashion?
Does any one know where I can watch the full movie???
This is some damn good fake Ratatat.
But such dismissiveness of the real political economy of fashion, is hard to respect. As was the feature on Asma Assad. Totally insensitive.
Can someone please tell me the name of the long haired redheaded lady who sits with Anna? Thanks

The current models are really boring too.
anna wintour IS fashion.
At the end of the day, it's only clothes. Actually, I prefer walking around naked and would if it were legal. ;)
OHH SHIT IT's just on
Why is no one talking about Andre Leon Talley, icon
What song is this???
Ladytron destroy everything you touch
how can someone (a man) who is not fashionable become more fashionable
People are afraid of the different bc they dont understand it,and think they do wherever there is change there is innertion ,if you develop a taste of what do you wanna wear and you can afford the clothes i dont see why not?
Look at what is on trend right now and choose what works for you. Then put a personal twist to it.
why are you watching a documentary about fashion then???
Rolemodel.

Umm because I live in America, and I still can (unless Obama has taken that right away, too).
