Thank you so much!!! After going to an IT guy my computer was still not turning on after sleep mode. I was about to go buy a Mac because I thought my computer was broken! You saved me a lot of money!!
This is utterly useless. If your laptop won't even let you turn it on you could not get into windows to activate or disable this.
Fun Fact: For people who did this prior to the problem it isn't useless, it's like saying a condom is usless because you got a girl pregnant already.
@@Kanoogif the question is: I got pregnant and I didn’t want to, what do I do now? Then yes, condoms is a completely useless answer. The question is what to do when your laptop is stuck in sleep, not what to do to prevent it.

My laptop goes to "sleep" meaning screen goes black and I can hear the fans running but nothing will wake it up. I have to hold the power to turn it off. It's so annoying since it uses to not do that. Anyway, helpful video, thanks

OMG! it worked 🤯(HP elite book 8640w windows 10, I put to sleep, would not wake up 💤, held down sleep/blinking power button 7-15 seconds, then clicked power button again, and viola! It woke up!) thank you so much!
My laptop was previously Windows 7 and I upgraded to Windows 10. It does not have the Power Management Structure in #6 because of the old Windows 7 hardware, and HP doesn't provide any driver update past Windows 7 on my laptop model. But I changed the other settings in 1 - 5, and after shutdown, then hard reset, it not powers up again like it's supposed to. Thank you for this video. It took me about 20 hours to find your video. Very tired but my laptop is fully upgraded and seems to be working now. Unbelievable.

It was seriously helpful man thank you so much you saved my job 😁😁😁I have bought a Lenovo IdeaPad 3 recently having a config of 8 GB ram and 1 TB HDD but its working like 2 GB ram and whenever I just go for a break once it get to sleep mode it will never open without manually restart I have checked with a company also they are suggesting to add SSD then it will work fast,,,,, I mean if the thing like that why the hell they made this laptop without SSD …So request you if you have any other tips like making this laptop faster please make a video for the same...so it will a really great help from your end

That’s not solving the problem. Having to reboot everytime it goes to sleep isn’t a good thing.

Great steps, though none worked for me. I don’t have the “Allow device to wake computer from sleep” option for my laptop in Device Manager. I’m going to have to try another route.

Explanation: Go to control panel, Device manager, storage controllers, click on storage controllers to see O2micro integrated MMC/SD controller, right click it and chose disable. Confirm to disable. Exit that's it. It solved mine.
Ctrl+alt+del works for me. Sometimes I have to click it 10 times but it has never failed to wake either of my PCs.

Once m8ne wakes up will change the settings. It shows Lenovo logo and does Windows load sound, goes black again. The dot on the power button was blinking slow. Now it us steadily lit. How do I wake the laptop???

@@techridertips It does not come up. As I said starts loading, does windows sound and stays black. I decided to drain the battery as mine us non removable, it should help. It might be some botched Windows update. Need to switch to Linux really. Appreciate a prompt response. The instructions are awesome!

If on PC, running a BIOS update for your motherboard is the true fix.

@@bond_the_man yes, but please watch reputable tutorials before flashing your bios. It’s very easy but make sure you’re doing it right. All of these videos saying to disable random settings is a bs workaround that doesn’t actually fix anything. These videos should all get thumbs down
