    The hardest part by far for me is getting that second oval to be in the right places. How you do it so smoothly and positionaly correct is beyond me.
    Once I finally do get it, that allows the points to be lined up easily, but that second circle in the main one which is the side plane just drives me nuts. I'll keep practicing though
    LOL at everyone else also terrified by 3:30. Glad I'm not the only one totally horrified by it.

    • @emmakate4896
      @emmakate4896 6 лет назад +6

      I am right there with you with the oval place. As soon as that is not aligned properly, it throws off the other features entirely. It's funny how tricky it is to do simple shapes like that is!

    • @LadyPirate37
      @LadyPirate37 5 лет назад +18

      Yes! This is my hang up right now. Front-facing view and straight-ahead profile make sense, but trying to draw any head from ANY angle I can imagine, feels impossible, because I have yet to find any explanations that give an actual formula for placing the flatter, side plane oval for the angle of the head that can be followed, no matter the position. Every single video I look up on the more complicated angles all say, “Then place the oval for the side plane”, or “cut off the sides of the head”, and then they just do it, but don’t really explain how they know that’s where it should go, or how big they should be, if that makes sense?
      Also, when he says in this video around @2:07 “then place the thirds”, but foreshortening or some such is a factor, there’s no explanation of how to figure out where they should go in these cases. Yes, longer or shorter, but again, no actual formula, as is the case with seemingly every other aspect of these techniques. Don’t get me wrong, these videos are awesome and very helpful, and the point I’m stuck at is a factor that NO ONE else seems to touch on either, so I’m not bashing his videos or channel or teaching style... but for those of us who are extreme beginners and are missing these specific tools from our new toolboxes, can anyone point us in a direction to learn this exact aspect? Help!

    I think you should make a video of how to make a loomi from start to finish. It seems like a simple thing to make, but I think a how to video might still be a good idea
