Hello Proko I just wanted to ask is any amount of imagination included in your art works and do you think we should connect to our art or separate from it?
Hi Stan! I took the time to translate the subtitles to Spanish for some friends because I really want them to see this video, as I consider it extremely informative and condenses a lot of knowledge that could be valuable to them. Is there any estime as to how long the subtitle review process would take? I have uploaded the subs for both Spanish (uploaded them a few weeks ago, actually) and Latinamerican Spanish and I'm waiting for them to go live
I've been suffering from not understanding the planes of the face and how to paint them properly for these past couple of months. I've watched and read a lot of things, but honestly, i needed an explanation that was more simplistic and, most importantly, more visual. Things like anatomy tend to drive way too far into my head in terms of detail, and I get lost in knowing where to even begin. It was daunting and, most times, frustrating. This was the first video in months were I honestly felt like I "get it." I'm not sure how to describe it, but it just made sense in a language where I finally understood the information that was being given. So thank you, honestly. This was exactly what I needed, and it now exposed me to an artist I want to know even more about.
My thoughts exactly!! The epiphany I had while watching this video has made me so excited. Same as you I've done so much reading and watching, really trying to understand the planes of the face and just exactly how to shade that...dependent on whatever light source. I already know that this video will have been endlessly helpful! I'm now feel confident that with this knowledge (that's finally compute in my head), I'll now be able to move my artwork into that next level. I can't wait to draw now! Lol. Really implementing what I learned and finally understand about the planes of the face and just exactly how it determines the light and shadow. Its midnight and I gotta get up in the morning. So, question is...do I pull my sketchbook out anyways, I'm inspired...its worth it? Or should I get my ass to bed and think about till i fall asleep... and then sometime later rewatch the video, and bring it out then? Lol. I guess I'll be an adult. Turning 30 this month. So I can't pretend I'm not one anymore lol. So I'll go to bed. I couldn't agree more with what you said though. It's like trying to understand the same sentence in a million different languages you didn't understand...then finally...AH HA!! lol. 👩🎨🙌
@Taco thanks girl!! I know that tip wasn't necessarily meant for me...but i appreciate that reminder! I now know what im going to focus on. I really hope this channel has videos on both of those things...because he teaches in a way in which I understand. More than anyone else...and I watch ridiculous amounts of art channels. For a ridiculous amount of time more often than not. Lol.
Bucci is such a good teacher. If he made a 2 hour lecture on filing taxes in the US, i could probably get through it even though it's in no way relevant to me.
To be honest, this is the best Head drawing lesson I have ever had in a long time. It is very simple and actually explain everything you need to know for starting drawing portrait
One of the best video of the subject on net...simple, direct, short...God bless you Marco for all future painters..of course thanks to Proko to choose well again and bring this genius on his channel.
I'm such a fan of Bucci's style of teaching. This and his colour harmony 10 min video are one of the best resources to understand light and colors I've ever watched!
As a tattoo artist, this video is immeasurably helpful. Your channel is turning me into a needle ninja... I'm gonna turn super saiyan soon and I'm worried I'm not ready to handle the pressure
Dear Proko, I'm bit sad, but also happy. I purchased portraits drawing made by you. It's really really good. But too much focused at parts of the head. This video brings me many many more. Because this tells me finally "How to really build" a head. This video is absolutely focused at the most important thing's in building face. There's explained with scull help and asaro head too. So this I have to say is best video at your channel.
You have no idea how perfeclty timed this video is for me. I have been drawing and learning the planes of the face for the past 3 weeks now. But I was really struggling on how to convey this to actual light and shaow information. Great video! Just what I needed. Thank you so much x
Thank you Proko for bringing Marco to your channel. He is as much fun as you are.. The Proko shirt was hysterical. Marco is very engaging and lesson was great although I will have to watch it a few times to get everything.
omg this helped me so much , I've been learning about lighting , shadows and values separately for a few months just cause they're the fundamentals and people rec it but didn't know how all those get together and would help me moving forward , this video really helped me visualise and understand all of those stuffs and how all those comes into lay while drawing stuff in general . Thank you so much 😌🤩
this is one of the most easy to understand videos on planes for my dumb little brain. I’ve been meaning to start learning shading and planes but I didn’t want to because all the details in other videos overwhelmed me. Thank you so much!
This isn't real life, you two artists are gonna revolutionize the online art learning thingy, you both are gonna destroy any art school and as someone who lives on north Africa where it's almost impossible to have something like that here 8 appreciate it more then you'll ever understand.
@@keepyourshoesathedoor these videos are awesome but in art school you can have figure drawing with real models, which is very difficult to find otherwise, and interacting with other artists and seeing their progress and work is also a positive thing, especially for younger artists. Art school can be a good thing when the curriculum has been well developed
i always thought like proko stuff and content are to advance im not gonna need this stuff i only wanna draw anime and simple things but as i learn more and more i was totally wrong prokos content is so helpful and amazing i wish i learn from him earlier in my journey it coudlve saved me alot of time and answered all my question earlier
Wonderful content!! Demystifying shadows on complex geometries. This is really an eye opener for me. Also watched your lumis videos. Thank you for your great content.
Great video and description. I've found that learning how to do some kind of physical modeling/sculpting has helped me to understand construction more, if that helps anyone.
Thankyou so so so so much for this. So many informative videos about how shadows work, but none that go over the order in which one begins to build shadows and highlights.
I love proko but when it comes to teaching Marco is amazing, top tier for me, hope u guys keep working together , something like this is we all beginners artist need so badly, thank you so much proko and Marco, gonna check marco store right now.. Sry for the ugly english xd
My god man, the planes! You unlocked that half tone and bounce light pattern in my head together with the basic light and shadow. I started laughing 😂 Thank you very much! Good good stuff here. ❤
I am pretty sure this is this first time someone actually told me what causes highlights :D I mean I thought about it and was pretty sure thats how it worked but none of the housands of art videos actually confirmed it
Thanks Marco! If you guys enjoyed this lesson, check out his RUclips channel - ruclips.net/user/marcobucci

This is the first video that really got through my thick skull and drove these concepts home. Thank you!
I have to say, I only noticed he made the shirt himself around 12:00 which was a nice touch. Get this man a shirt, Proko!
Marco really gets the job done for me. I swear if I had a day with that dude I'd be 100x better at rendering.
This is the best painting tutorial on youtube for someone like me who only ever practiced drawing. Thanks so much!
