This is an excellent gun for someone like me. I am a soon to be 70 year young lady who still works part time as a night security guard at a senior apartment complex and this is a perfect gun for me to open carry. It is light, a good shooting gun with almost no recoil. Love this little piece.
I just turned 73 yesterday. My S&W 38 special bobbed hammer snubnose causes too much wrist and elbow trauma after a broken wrist and torn ligaments from a car wreck years ago compounded with age Just bought this UL model with 3 inch barrel. No pain in my arm.
These are so hard to find. I saw a used one at my FFL a couple of weeks ago for $370 and picked it up right away. Mine is the 3" silver 942M. Very accurate and fun gun to shoot.
Good gun but I would suggest the 22lr version. The 22 mag only gets about 60 fps from a 2" barrel over the 22lr and the cost and availability of ammo not to mention a much better variety in 22lr. It really takes a rifle length barrel to get the added benefit out of 22 magnum.
Taurus has really improved their quality over the last few years, I have a Taurus 856 .38 snubby and really like it. You are right about not being able to find a new 942 in 22wmr, I've looked all over and no luck. Really enjoy your videos, thanks for taking the time to do them.
.22 LR casings are a little smaller diameter than .22 Magnum. This means that firing .22 LR in a .22 Magnum chamber could result in the case bursting and releasing Hot Gases near your hand and face. Also you dry fired the revolver several times. With any Rim fire gun this can eventually dent the Chamber Mouth making loading and ejection hard to do better to leave some fired brass or dummy rounds in the cylinder for dry firing.
Picked one up recently, your right hard to find. Walked into a shop in Ashland Ohio “Fin Feather Fur” and by golly they had one in the case. Looked at my wife and said what do you think honey? She said what ever you think! Shot about 50-60 rounds of different brands cci, hornady, federal, not one hiccup.
I wish I could find one. If Taurus would ramp up production and not produce anything but this revolver, they would still sell everyone they make. There's a huge backlog of people wanting this revolver.
Am in the heart of Texas and still cant find one of those here in Houston. Any help will do. I want one of these little bad boys. Lovely review by the way.
Do you feel like the ultra lite is in any way inferior to the standard weight version? I am able to find the ultra lite version but im on the fence about the aluminum frame. I have seen that between the 2 guns, they both have steel barrels and steel cylinders, the only difference is the frame material.
I was lucky yo find one on gun broker and trust me it cost me a pretty penny. But I wanted it that bad. I love how it shoots. I have since gotten a tx lr I love that one too, Just have to be careful what kind of rounds you run through it.
@@G95G95 dude you can take your anti cop crap else where. In almost sixty years of gun ownership I have yet to hear of a Local cop taking guns away from owners without cause. Cause im Pro God, Pro Country, Pro Military and Pro Cop.
My new Taurus 942 failed almost immediately. Leaves very small indent on the unfired shell. Firing pin or something. Taurus repair has taken weeks so far and they can't seem to figure it out. Even if repaired, I will NEVER trust this ridiculous gun. I guess you get what you pay for. Budget gun that fails is not worth it.

Very nice video, Sir. US Army Veteran 1966/1969. Thank you for your service to our beloved America! God Bless America and all who love her.
thank you sir. God bless and happy shooting
I have owned this revolver for a few years now, great shooter, loud as can be, wear your hearing protection for sure. Would not sell it for nothing.
hang on to it for sure, as they are hard to find. Happy shooting
Do you have the ultra lite or the standard version?

The 22 magnum is a mean little bullet. Multiple companies make defensive ammo, as per FBI ballistic testing, with effective penetration.

I own a Ruger 22 wmr 2" barrel. Very light and accurate. I saw a Taurus 942 wmr 22 for $299.00
Good luck trying to find one right now.
no doubt
Good info... that 22 WMR revolver wasn't moving much during firing, but your upper arms were moving like you were shooting a light 38.

Are the cylinders interchangeable?

Great video, yeah I want one.
It looks nice to me, especially for a small guy with shaky hands ✋🏻😄
Nice video I really like it but I'd be careful dry firing those rimfire revolvers

Did you ever had a hard time electing the empty cases ? Mine is very hard to eject, its going back to Taurus hopefully they will fix it.
I for one would not want to be shot with a .22 magnum. I've seen what they do to hogs and deer.
you got a point there!

hard to find a 942 let alone a minute, here in Ocala Fl.
I see one on gun broker now and its already going upwards of $500. When I got mine last year I was the winning bidder at $630.

I have zero concerns that the ultra lite is inferior.
Did you say that you have a Luger MK1 in your bug out bag?

Hey there, where can you find these at? Do they still make it? I cannot find them anywhere I’ve been looking for a while.
Very difficult to find. I’ve looked and can’t find em.

because it's a cheap gun ✔️

he doesn't care about damaging
it's rimfire components ✔️
