      I wish he would have been able to put the brakes on just enough to properly recover from his surgeries. My understanding (possibly completely incorrect) is that he had surgery but did not wait the proper time to fully heal, had to have another surgery, didn't wait again, etc. He has an incredible drive, but I fear that is partly why his back is in the shape it is. The deadlift isn't that impressive for a 300 pound bodywheight man. It's just a very good one, period. A ton of a lot lighter powerlifters can do that.

      The squat was in a suit and he also had knee wraps and a belt... Honestly knee wraps alone can add 100 lb on a squat suit even more... He definitely was a strong guy but I hate how he never says equipped when saying he squatted 800.

    • @TommyNitro
      @TommyNitro 7 месяцев назад +4

      @@fitnessmusic3329 Ronnie wasn't a powerlifter, though he had a distant background in it. Bodybuilding affects the CNS and, thus, muscle recruitment differently than powerlifting. To just decide one day at that body fat, as a bodybuilder, having not trained specifically that lift, that he was going to do it and then doing it is impressive.

    • @fitnessmusic3329
      @fitnessmusic3329 7 месяцев назад

      @@TommyNitro the CNS argument is just made up nonsense.
      He took EVERYTHING under the sun for 15 years straight and yes, he had a powerlifting background. He also wheighted 145 fucking kgs that day. 363kg is just a 2.5 bodywheight squat/deadlift and WITH A SUIT. So of course is above average strenght, but it's NOT amazing by any means. Elite powerlifters of 21 years old can do more than him with a 85/90kg bodywheight, so cut the "amazing" crap once and for all.
