- Justice League was a disappointment. Critically. Financially. Creatively. It wasn't great.
And I don't think you can make one small change to fix it.
I think you need to make A BIG CHANGE.
So, this is Part 1 of my Justice League rewrite. I'm taking the whole movie apart, beginning to end. Some things will stay the same but a lot of it will be different but hopefully it will accomplish everything the original Justice League was supposed to accomplish and embody the spirit of the movie we all wanted it to be.

Can I just say, I love your editing cuts of completely different, but related, media to help visualize the scenarios you layout. Like, eyes on that Weather Wizard shooting lightning at Wonder Woman transition. Just really smooth work, props earned.

I'm really glad you added that you're not trying to say you're a better writer. That's super respectful, and it's awesome you acknowledged that there are so many reasons a good writer's work can get ruined by someone else in a production. I may not like entirely where your changes are going, but I'm really excited for part 2. :D

Holy crap. Not only is this such a better premise for a Justice League movie, but it’s so good that I truly thought the video had only been six or seven minutes when the 20 minutes were up. I was actually edge of my seat gripped by this plot. I can’t wait for the follow ups!

I totally agree. Isn’t a movie supposed to be riveting? Edge of your seat excitement. I don’t get it wouldn’t you make more money on a movie if it was an awesome, repeatable watch rather than a built in audience? Wouldn’t you make more money by having twice as many people go to see the movie and see it more than once than hitting a number?

The moment you said that, I realized everything that should've been didn't happen. It would've tied the whole DC cinematic universe together in one scene, without having the need to retcon anything at all. An apocalyptic villain never feels like a true threat, because no one on a meta level is ever afraid of the world dying. But seeing the Legion of Doom show up? That would've left fans desperate for more.

Nando, I've watched all of your videos, this is absolutely beautiful! I fully respect your hard work and all of the effort you put into these videos. Let it be known that your hard work does not go unnoticed.
Imagine an after credits scene where Amanda Waller pays Slade a visit in prison offering him a place on Task Force X similar to the post credits scene in Arkham Origins. Presumably teasing a decent Suicide Squad sequel.

I feel like Deathstroke has been so depowered over time and given a backseat when imo he is such a cool villain

Batman in traffic, now that’s what I wanna see
Batman’s just sitting in the bat mobile while car horns go off.
He sighs.
Sits there for a bit.
Adjusts the seat position.
Makes those popping noises bored people make, I dunno how to describe it.
Turns on the radio.
Radio plays the Batman theme (you know which one I mean).
Grins slightly.
Starts humming along.
I think scarecrow should be in the legion, it would be a great opportunity to get to know more about flash and cyborgs backstory while under the fear gas. It could also show of character conflict, say flash and batman are fighting some members of the legion and scarecrow is one of them, flash would think "oh this is just a regular guy in a costume, I can take him easy" and before batman can warn him about what scarecrow can do, flash is already running at him and ends up with a face full of fear gas. That would show off flash's quick to act personality and how he's not willing to listen to others a lot of the time. Just a thought, really enjoyed the video!

It's a badass theme. The problem is it's a battle theme. It builds hype for when she's about to go ham. But when it's a cameo of her just assisting in a rescue or saying hi, it's...overpoweringly jarring.

Jason's casting was a bit inspired. Whole Aquaman movie needed a better script. The actress who played the love interested needed to be replaced. She was mediocre.

Love it! What would you think if at the memorial service, the final person to speak is, of course, Lois Lane. She begins the speech honoring Superman and the all the good he’s done for mankind, but then turns very dark, saying mankind let him die: “You let the Batman kill him. You killed the only god willing to protect your pathetic lives, and now there’s no one left to save you,” as she turns around and pulls out a gun on the president. Batman throws a baterang, which not only relieves Lois of the gun, but also her hand. Batman jumps to the stage as the secret service takes the president away. Lois, in “pain” screams at Batman, “Look at what you’ve done. You destroy everything you touch, everyone around you...” Batman is distraught, taken aback. Then Lois holds up her hand, which is not bleeding, but dripping clay. Batman realizes who he’s dealing with. The fight ensues, and Lois is later discovered to be held captive by the Legion of Doom. This allows Clayface to show off his infamous acting skills and it makes sense he would impersonate Lois, since she is the most unassuming to get closet to the president. Clayface also gets a stab at Batman’s insecurities of letting down both Superman and Robin (further fueling Bruce to work alone) and it turns the public’s attention on the role Batman played in Superman’s death (which is later escalated by the media). And his mentions of “gods” can allude to the possible agenda of summoning and evil god in the absence of Superman, if that’s where you were going. Thanks for reading all of this if you did!
AnHeC she wouldn’t actually be Lois Lane, she’d be Clayface incognito. And the whole thing isn’t about killing the president, it’s about creating a distraction and drawing mass attention to Batman’s role in Supe’s death

this is actually great, definitely better than JL. but can you change the "collect some mcguffins" part to something else? "collect the mcguffins" trope in superhero movies is getting pretty old now (same goes for Villain "hunger for power". "world domination" and "something shooting some/a giant hole into the sky" trope)

It's a common mistake to think mcgruffins make a movie weak. The problem is too many movies misuse mcgruffins. Paychecks are a mcgruffin in our real lives. How do we choose to make our paycheck, what do we do with our savings? Do we have aspirations? nest it in fear of the future? How do we survive the hard times? What do we put up with at work to make that paycheck. Put that in a story and it defines your character, it motivates them. A mcgruffin is a thing you need. When the story's end goal is just getting the thing you need, it's weak. but when the thing you need is a tool to define who your character is, what their ambitions are, and how they handle not having it. Who are their during hardships. That's where the real power lies.
The average movie goer:
Yeah hi I put me down for a mcguffin with fries and a sundae to go

Something I disagreed on: WW's theme. Her main theme is badass and catchy. But to each their own. Otherwise, I actually love your version of JL. A much better premise than what we saw. As you mentioned, they should've used the roster of other DC characters to their advantage since they own the rights to all of the DC characters.
I also don't like it. I'm not saying it's bad, I just don't find it to be badass or catchy.

I like Wonder Woman's theme too.
It doesn't really work for a Wonder Woman theme. It's catchy, I guess. But it doesn't really convey the grandeur or legendary status of a woman literally created by the Gods. Other than the obnoxious guitar riff, it's just an uninspired orchestral piece.
In comics / cartoons, the legion of doom was created as a reactionary mechanism to formation of justice League.
It is interesting that here Legion is first formed then followed by justice League.
The only positive thing I can think about the DCEU is that Nando is gonna come out with a video with something better

My problem with your "big change" of creating the legion of doom is that it doesn't make sense. The LoD exists as a reaction to the justice league. Villains are inherently selfish and not inclined to work together. If superman is dead, the villains have a free pass to do whatever they want. I doubt they are gonna team up. But when the justice league existed, they villains needed a force to counter the JL, and that's how the LoD came to be.

Well, I think Batman could conceivably stop all of these criminals if they are on their own.
I don't know all those villains but the initial group appears to be weaker villains, villains that batman would be able to stop. Seems like this legion is just to win against Batman, and once JL forms, the legion would expand to include the heavy hitters.
I have been waiting for this video for such a long time. Thank You for making it. The DCEU is such an interesting universe with diverse cast, and You have fixed some of the movies. My favorite video of yours is The wonder woman series. Please keep making these kind of videos.

Logan Gun nope. Not at all it is worse than those. Fan4stuc had good effects. Cat woman is close but this one is more disappointing. Batman and Robin had amazing practical effects and effects are great plus acting is pretty good the writing is terrible tho and the rest of the movie is one of the worst but has better stuff than JL. Electra, is not as terrible. It is terrible but it's not awful or unwatchable. Same thing goes for daredevil and x men origins wolverine. Cap 1990 is in no way as bad as JL at least that one tries.
Justice league, is bad at everything. Effects are shit, acting is terrible, jokes are bad, cringy dialogue, characters are badly written, action sucks, costumes are ugly, bad guys are boring, everything is wrong with that movie. Nothing good at all. Thanks WB you literally outdid yourself, you managed to make a movie worse than batman and Robin.

I think one of the biggest things I took away from this is that the villains have to be just as *awesome* as their hero counterparts. Which seems to be a running theme for your DCEU fixes. Loved this.

This is so good, it's making me feel embarassed on behalf of DC. I can see that it's very Batman focused, which I get, but what do you think would be the arcs for the other characters? Batman learns to trust the others, Diana rejoins the world? Cyborg would clearly clash against the Toy Man both of them being hackers. Steppenwolf kneels before Darkseid who we barely see, just darkness. He tells Darkseid that he failed to obtain the motherboxes due to Earths new protectors. Darkseid brings up Superman’s resurrection and how he tried to get him to turn evil, figuring out that Steppenwolf would’ve used Superman to overthrow him after taking over Earth. We see Darkseids eyes go red and Steppenwolf is killed. The scene then transitions to an Apokolipian prison cell, with Abin Sur inside and a ring inside a magic container across from him.

As much as i loved your ideas and this made more sense and made the movie WHOLE lot better, wouldn't it fall to underdeveloped characters criticism? Considering putting few more villains in (and only focusing on Deathstroke (exploring the others in the next act wouldn't help the pacing I suppose)) , and how this movie probably would be less than 120 min long. Also, even if it makes sense and really brings a "story" in the universe, I don't think leaving Superman out of a JL movie is a good move, because I think he is too important for JL name. If your idea were to be put in a movie before JL comes out, it will be better i think, but I'm not sure what the title would be lol so maybe it is the only logical way then. But really, i frickin' love your idea man, loved all your videos! Peace!

Why don't you like Wonder Woman's theme?
I think the electric cello always sounds out of place and takes me out of the movie.
Nando v Movies I get that. I think it might not be as jarring if everyone elses theme was equally as unique and interesting.
Yeah. There was a bit in Wonder Woman where they used the theme but without the cello and just what was used for the rest of the score, and I really liked it.
Why does Clayface need to plow through a crowd? he can just shape shift into a police officer or a journalist, or maybe even a President's special security guy if he's part of some team that is planning stuff.
