I love this game. The level of customization that you can put into each monster makes it so much fun to experiment with monster breeds and builds. The story mode can get pretty easy, so don't be afraid to bump up the difficulty. Especially if you breed mad monsters like mine. A few bugs, but every time I find one, the developer tweets or responds to a Reddit post saying that he has/is fixing it, so I'm not too mad. I would get it on PC, because a lot of the bug fix patches are still in review red tape for the switch. Not the developer's fault, but still a bummer.

The Switch verson unfortunately has a lot of instances where using basic feature will soft lock you at the moment. So hopefully they get pacthed out soon..

I have this on steam and I personally really like it! I think my favorite thing is the monster designs, makes me feel like I'm back in pokemon gold/silver when things were still fresh and new, and I was a starry-eyed child lol

Dude I’m absolutely loving this game so far, it is very buggy rn but I’m absolutely loving the gameplay, the battles feel nice and the scouting mechanic is so freaking nice. But seriously, the breeding system is absolutely epic, once you unlock custom genes you can literally make any monster with any stats any colour any type literally anything you want so you can literally use any monster and just put all the best stats on it I love it so much, it gives you so much freedom it’s unreal. Also I gotta say, my experience with levelling is totally different, I’m exploring every nook and cranny available to me and by the time I got to the boss in the cave with the seed pushing puzzle my team was already all like level 50
I've read up the game on the official wiki and I'm waiting for a sale which will eventually come (which is good since by then there should be enough patches for the bugs in the Switch Version). I really really hope this one has a solid story and the "elemental" system this one has can prove itself (seems very straightforward which is good for having only 6 types) since Nexomon Extinction fell a little flat for me after I sat down to think about it after finishing it. My only issue before even playing is that a good number of the alternate monster designs are goofy, bad or just don't belong in the game. There are some big winners (and cases where the default version just trumps the alternates by a mile) but the majority need to be workshopped a bit more (there are some designs where I'd stick to the base design just because it's the least bad looking). Since this is all a work-in-progress, hopefully the final product is better overall.
I would love an expansion to monster crown eventually that answers more questions, or even a prequel. There are a good amount of glitches, but I'm really enjoying the breeding system and the devs respond to problems quickly. I even had one fix a messed up save. I'll be making backups more frequently until they fix more glitches, but overall, this game is definitely worth it to me
if it wasn't for pathing bugs and wonky difficulty it'd be the easiest 10/10; hopefully it's fixable; the level cap "medals" do fix the difficulty a fair bit tho compared to early beta
@@stjarnar i play on pc, they're pretty instantaneous over here; still problems with scouting and being able to move and use menus during cutscenes, wonky room transitions and stuff like that ruins the immersion. It's still one of my favorite games of all time, i just wish it was refined

Bought the game on the Switch, really like it. Only problem is the bugs - it's really buggy, the games been freezing a lot lately. Hopefully the dev will fix the bugs because otherwise the game is great. :\
I have monster crown on switch and even though I found it enjoyable so far I found some bugs that really are becoming apparent in the game one example being that when you talk to the chief tamer in the humanism kingdom she gives you a side quest were you have to kill a specific monster and every time you try to enter battle against it you just get soft locked because you can't attack it at all or escape or even forfeit and the monster does not attack you either so you are stuck there until you restart the game but I still have faith that Jason will patch there bugs out soon and the other games I have been playing are just as buggy if not more so I'm not really upset at all about the game.
@@andrewdickey5537 yes and I am sure it's a bug because you can inflict ailments onto the monster that you are supposed to kill but then it will completely erase all you opinions so you are just stuck there until you restart the game and I heard on the monster crown Twitter that there will be a patch for a lot of these bugs that will go live soon. The best thing we need to do is inform Jason about these bugs because I believe he's making this game in good faith but he probably bit more he can chew when it came to releasing it on consoles.
Maybe it was changed quite a bit lately, but when I hear how Synergy is switching up a battle and all that, I'm always really confused/suprised. I mean because I was pretty certain that you could just knock them down. I still have to finish it, but I already read a few comments that suggest my feeling about the story is right. That it's really lacking. I was also not fond of the decision made for the multiplayer part. Once in a while I enjoyed it though, I can't only talk bad about it. edit: if I'm not wrong about it, the game is also not super clear about a few things.
haven't gotten too far, but here are my early thoughts for the switch version! pros: -beautiful art -great music -great monster/character design -breeding mechanics look fantastic (haven't gotten up to it tho) cons: -bugs (minor bugs are fine but frequent full on freezes feel pretty disruptive) -"open world" elements feel a little shallow (ie while you technically can explore lots of areas early on, there is little benefit to doing so and you're pretty much just wasting time?) -battle system doesn't feel too engaging, imo. the synergy system has great potential, but for the most part it seems like it just makes your attacks stronger. i really like that it can change your attack into a different one (eg swipe to full slash) but the UI doesn't indicate what moves will change and what the effects of those moves will become, making it hard to use this mechanic strategically. (but tbf, maybe the intention is to discover this over time?) other thoughts: -glad i bought this as i like to support indie monster taming games, and it really feels like the team put a lot of passion and hard work into this. -that being said, i don't think this game quite hits the mark for me and i don't think i will finish it or play it for much longer -but the more games like this that exist, the more indie developers will continue to inspire each other and higher quality games will emerge!
I must admit, I find GB-style games pretty hit or miss, but this game has gradually been really growing on me. I think it gives me a lot of nostalgia and with it being like Pokemon meets Demi Kids, I think that's pretty cool. If you haven't already looked into Demi Kids, I think you'd love it, it's a great SMT monster tamer game.

Do you plan on revamping or expanding information on deeper portions of mechanics? Those videos helped me a lot. Do you recommend anything to help me education myself? It seems like fun but the two biggest things are throwing me off: 1) Graphics. I know graphics don't make a game but we did this already... I don't wanna go back to 1997 and "relive" old pokémon. I would've prefered a more modern look for it. Monster Sanctuary is still pixelated but with a modern twist. 2) Monster designs don't look appealing to me. Some of them look straight up like animals we have IRL, others look to pixelated to make out what they're suppose to be and then others just look... Meh. I may give it a shot at some point, but for now i don't think it's for me. Thanks for the video though, great as always!

Games nice but a few complaints. I ran into a couple of game breaking bugs. Interacting with a campfire will break the game and you will be stuck until you close out and reset. The second one happened while I was looking at my monsters in the monster box at the breeding house. I lost the ability to leave the screen with the b button and had to force close the game to leave. The game’s balance is also rather laughable. I used a supergro on my Laz and got an insanely powerful monster with base stats more than twice of everything around me. Some choice breeding later, and I have a small army of Laz and her children that just completely trivialize the game. I even found the legendary monster on the far west coast on a crescent moon that was level 60, almost twice Laz’s level, and defeated it in 1 attack thanks to the synch gauge. Btw, to be clear, I’m playing on the Switch version. The monster designs are nice, and the cross breeds are really cool. However, the method of passing down base stats means that it’s pointless to breed anything that isn’t insanely strong to begin with. The story tries to be darker than your average monster taming story, but just comes off as really edgy instead. The main villain, (I’m assuming it’s the girl with the level 60 monster that ambushes you in the second town) is a giant edgelord/hypocrite that will presumably be beaten down by the end of the story. Overall, I’d give it a 5.5/10. If you want to play it, I would wait for it to go on sale. In its current condition, it’s not worth the $30 price tag. Maybe $20 or $15.

I was really close to buying this for switch until I heard about all the bugs. I'll probably give it a few months for them to be ironed out. I still want to play it at some point.
I've had this game on my wishlist for a while and finally got it through Humble Bundle. I want to like it so bad, it has good parts, but the bugs are really killing it for me. There are so many small quality of life improvements that could have been made as well. The lack of polish killed my excitement. I'm still playing but it's not as fun as it could have been. Honestly, it wouldn't have taken much to fix this game.
I've only found one bug where one of my monsters was renamed to what I renamed another monster, but it was an easy fix. Maybe I'm just lucky, though. Still, $30 is way more than what the cost should be.
Does the game has a beastiary of some kind that explains more about the monsters and lore? I can't care about the monsters unless they have some kind of explanation of what they are and do
Haven't tried it on Switch yet. But to my finding, the Switch version is pretty unstable and there is quite some bug that definitely needs some fixing like flickering framerate, freezing, etc. that might be slightly annoying for your overall experience. But will probably grab this once the game is more stable on the Switch port.
Interesting. I saw that it's recently coming to Xbox tomorrow so I wanted to look up some reviews on it. Definitely reminds me of the OG pokémon silver. Which is where I started my pokémon journey. It's definitely interesting just wondering if it'd be worth the $30 price tag. 🤔
While I do enjoy the game and its mechanics thus far, I've purchased it on the Switch and still say this is one of those games not worth $30. I'd say it's worth the same as Nexomon: Extinction was: $15
This game does look really fun and interesting, but idk if it's worth it to pay 30$ for a buggy game right now. I think I might wait a while to see how the game changes over time with bug fixes before I dive in.
While I'm pulled towards this game the insane amount of bugs and lack of polish overall really hurts. I get that this game had a really low budget but games like Horizon's gate have been made by a single guy and are quite polished. I played 20 minutes and got softlocked twice in two different ways, went through a wall and almost softlocked myself. On top of that the game has a really weird pacing sometimes text in battle goes too fat, sometimes it's too slow. It feels like the coding is really rough and a lot of it could have been polished. Monsters in the overworld also have the weirdest behavior they go through random things. I'll give this game another shot because the fusing alone intrigues me so much (and the music is weirdly catchy I can't get it out of my head) but man is this game buggy.
I'm a Kickstarter backer (who hasn't gotten a key yet because delays)- I know Jason is working on bug fixes, so I'm kinda glad in a strange way I'm delayed from playing since I feel my first experience might be better. Its hard to wait but... at least there's support!
So far I like how it appears to be the Pokemon game that should've been or at least a pathway that opens once one reveals their she with creating the character or something. I'm looking forward to playing it and hope that by now the bugs have been fixed
Its a pretty cool game, while i like that it isnt saccharine and juvenile with its story telling its hard to say if grim and edgy is the any better for me. Having some hiccups performance wise tht i hope can get patched quick but other wise Im still pretty hyped to really dig in
I did some experiments with Laz and super grow 😏. 🤔 so if you manage to find super grow and use it on Laz it will become it will transform. That 3.6 growth to Magic is tempting... However if you ( now you can use Anti-fungal but that's boring) use "Apo's light" and purify Laz back into a Apo and then use Super grow 😏 you turn apo into the powerful legendary Apo 3.2 Magic but I like the L.Apo form better 😁👍
I have the game on switch. Not super far yet but I will probably set it aside until some patches roll out. It is quite buggy in its current state. Most aren't game breaking (though some are) but the little things add up to break my immersion. There is one issue that really bothers me and i am not if this is a bug or a design choice. Transitions in battle are VERY abrupt. There is no animation for a mon getting KOed. First time my mon died i didn't know what was going on. It just instantly went to the monster select screen and it took me a while to figure out what had happened. Another instance was very disorienting. I attacked a mon with a move that has an animation that kinda covers the enemy sprite. Other tamer switched, i killed that new mon, then he replaced his mon. But it all happened so fast what i saw on the right side of the screen was mon1>attack animation>mon2>mon3 all in the course of about a second or 2.
I'm still pretty early into this game, and I'm sorry, but the XP gain so far feels on par with Dragon Quest 1. Maybe gaining XP gets less slow the further into the game I progress, but I dunno if I should count on it...
On switch...no. You can join the discord group and tech support is nonexistent for the switch port, every time I found a glitch, I mentioned it. No sort of appeasement, not even a response. The barn fire glitch, going to one to heal up or whatever will freeze the game, causing you to do a soft reset. Removing the rocks in order to change the water pressure to get through that mining cave... rock gets stuck on your head, and trying to put it down causes a glitch now you gotta start the game over. Every glitch i encountered so far ends with you having to start the game over. It wasn't ready, and the patches can't happen as fast on the switch port. There are some good things, and there are some bad things...but thing to survive..like the camp.... that has to get fixed. I want to give this a good run once it gets patched again.
Could anyone explain hot breeding for me? I've done it a few times and got some worm like dragon monsters but I can't do anything with them since they are too young. Do I need one of the clocks for these?
I picked it up day of and, while I enjoyed it, I had to stop playing due to the constant bugs. I have to say that I regret this purchase. At $39.99 CAN on the Nintendo eshop, this game is wildly overpriced, especially for something that just is not completed. I sincerely hope there's a major update for it to make it not just an expensive lemon.
I'm pretty hungry for good monster taming games, and this looks like it has great potential, but i'm gonna pass until they fix things, and stick with MHS2 and Monster Sanctuary (am super excited for the future dlc)
Im playing on switch and im locked cant move this is the third time it has done this i have to start a new game everytime since theres no fast travel that i know of
Been playing this on Steam, and so far, I can basically sum it up as the 8-Bit Version of Scarlet and Violet. It can still be fun, but there's a lot of sloppiness, such as monsters appearing in trees, the unresponsive water mechanics in the first cave, your house not scrolling porperly/being too wide, etc.
Like the game, but HOLY CRAP, the Switch version is broken. I’ve encountered so many issues that freeze up the game or prevent you from exiting a menu. I save all the time now, because I’ve lost progress several times.
Yea I can understand why some people may have been upset about the bugs, there are definitely a lot, but I think too many people see the bugs and aren't able to see the amazing game that lies beyond them.
Gameplay sounds very interesting, but I can't really get past the art style of the monsters themselves, especially with how out of place it is compared to the rest of the game's graphics. Looks reminiscent of Pokémon RBY (even GSC-esque looks would have been fine). Huge turn-off for me. I assume this was done to simplify breeding+fusion systems, but the price paid isn't worth it IMO.
Way too many crashes on Switch, I'm pissed I waited this long, honestly. It's completely unacceptable for a cartridge to be released with this many game breaking bugs for just playing the game normally.
They come out November 2, as well as the physical version for switch in the US. I had to find this out the hard way when my preorder hadn't even shipped and what I *thought* was the release date had come and gone. I follow the dev on twitter and not ONCE was this delay on certain platforms communicated, just continual hyping of October 12 as the release date. I'm really disappointed in the lack of transparency to be honest, that combined with the bugs and a lot of people saying the story isn't great is making me consider cancelling my preorder. I mean, I'd still like the game eventually, but maybe I should wait for a sale instead...

I got it cuz of you. But yeah the bugs are shitty but they are being patched. I even had dev edit my save to fix a bug and patched it. So over all positive experience once the bugs are worked out this have is def a must own. Hell even now it is as long as you save often
At 10-15$ this looks like a COOL GAME BOY COLOR GAME. But in truth 30$ is OVER PRICED for what this is. A very old 4chan HOMEBREW project (not even properly produced and as such this is poorly priced period and not ANY LONGER..in the spirit of homebrew when you CHARGE MONEY FOR IT ANYWAYS but that said) that was not worth 10$ when it came out on forums all those years ago and its worth even less now. Drop that Eshop half off sale more often youll ACTUALLY SELL THIS TITLE WELL. otherwise? HARD PASS based on the 30$ price tag ALONE (JUST HONEST FEED BACK SORRY eshop has way too many better games like nexomon to even consider this title over any other like it in its genre even a pokemon remake is better than this for my money.)
If u think gameboy color games look like this then you've never played GBC. This is more comparable to GBA and DS. Also nexomon and this game both have their ups and downs. Nexomon has better story, coromon has better gameplay

Honestly, I don’t see the appeal of the creatures. And that’s kinda of why I am initially interested in playing any monster taming game, so I’m going to pass on this. The overwhelming majority look very ugly and grotesque, and not in a good way. There doesn’t seem to be any cohesive design theme. The Gameboy Color ascetic also makes them even more unappealing. There’s no use in all the mechanics if I have no desire to use any of the creatures aha
It really is. I first played it a year ago when the early access started, and playing it today I can't tell the difference. Unintuitive UI, framerate drops, unbalanced level curve, and bug after bug after bug. Heck, just yesterday I was exploring and my character gets stuck on nothing and I had to reset. It wasn't even some out-of-the-way part of the map, it was a small bridge that crosses the main pathway just after the second town. Like, the game does have charm, and I really want to like it, but it still needs a ton of polish.

in short, no don't get the game, it's buggy AF, the game crashes over and over and over, they have been promising fixes for over a year now then have the balls to complain about steam/consoles putting their game in sales costing them money(a broken game mind you for $30) releasing a monster crown card game.... while the game is still broken and neglected, hell I tried yesterday again I kid you not the game started crashing every 8/10minutes, monsters not learning their skills even though it learned one, monsters spawning outside the map and the list goes on. $30.... broken is broken, how many people work on it is irrelevant the game is still being sold while broken and worst of all neglected, takes me back to Risk of Rain 2 -.-

The patches are currently under review for release. It's just taking longer than expected.

@@thyred3167 No doubt, this game is an easy 10/10 if the bugs and technical issues can be patched and resolved. It's really bad on Switch right now because it's an older version that hasn't caught up to PC.
Bought the game on the Switch, really like it. Only problem is the bugs - it's really buggy, the games been freezing a lot lately. Hopefully the dev will fix the bugs because otherwise the game is great. :\

I have monster crown on switch and even though I found it enjoyable so far I found some bugs that really are becoming apparent in the game one example being that when you talk to the chief tamer in the humanism kingdom she gives you a side quest were you have to kill a specific monster and every time you try to enter battle against it you just get soft locked because you can't attack it at all or escape or even forfeit and the monster does not attack you either so you are stuck there until you restart the game but I still have faith that Jason will patch there bugs out soon and the other games I have been playing are just as buggy if not more so I'm not really upset at all about the game.
@@andrewdickey5537 yes and I am sure it's a bug because you can inflict ailments onto the monster that you are supposed to kill but then it will completely erase all you opinions so you are just stuck there until you restart the game and I heard on the monster crown Twitter that there will be a patch for a lot of these bugs that will go live soon. The best thing we need to do is inform Jason about these bugs because I believe he's making this game in good faith but he probably bit more he can chew when it came to releasing it on consoles.
Maybe it was changed quite a bit lately, but when I hear how Synergy is switching up a battle and all that, I'm always really confused/suprised.
I mean because I was pretty certain that you could just knock them down.
I still have to finish it, but I already read a few comments that suggest my feeling about the story is right. That it's really lacking.
I was also not fond of the decision made for the multiplayer part.
Once in a while I enjoyed it though, I can't only talk bad about it.
edit: if I'm not wrong about it, the game is also not super clear about a few things.
haven't gotten too far, but here are my early thoughts for the switch version!
pros:
-beautiful art
-great music
-great monster/character design
-breeding mechanics look fantastic (haven't gotten up to it tho)
cons:
-bugs (minor bugs are fine but frequent full on freezes feel pretty disruptive)
-"open world" elements feel a little shallow (ie while you technically can explore lots of areas early on, there is little benefit to doing so and you're pretty much just wasting time?)
-battle system doesn't feel too engaging, imo. the synergy system has great potential, but for the most part it seems like it just makes your attacks stronger. i really like that it can change your attack into a different one (eg swipe to full slash) but the UI doesn't indicate what moves will change and what the effects of those moves will become, making it hard to use this mechanic strategically. (but tbf, maybe the intention is to discover this over time?)
other thoughts:
-glad i bought this as i like to support indie monster taming games, and it really feels like the team put a lot of passion and hard work into this.
-that being said, i don't think this game quite hits the mark for me and i don't think i will finish it or play it for much longer
-but the more games like this that exist, the more indie developers will continue to inspire each other and higher quality games will emerge!
I must admit, I find GB-style games pretty hit or miss, but this game has gradually been really growing on me. I think it gives me a lot of nostalgia and with it being like Pokemon meets Demi Kids, I think that's pretty cool. If you haven't already looked into Demi Kids, I think you'd love it, it's a great SMT monster tamer game.

It seems like fun but the two biggest things are throwing me off:
1) Graphics. I know graphics don't make a game but we did this already... I don't wanna go back to 1997 and "relive" old pokémon. I would've prefered a more modern look for it. Monster Sanctuary is still pixelated but with a modern twist.
2) Monster designs don't look appealing to me. Some of them look straight up like animals we have IRL, others look to pixelated to make out what they're suppose to be and then others just look... Meh.
I may give it a shot at some point, but for now i don't think it's for me.

Games nice but a few complaints. I ran into a couple of game breaking bugs.
Interacting with a campfire will break the game and you will be stuck until you close out and reset.
The second one happened while I was looking at my monsters in the monster box at the breeding house. I lost the ability to leave the screen with the b button and had to force close the game to leave.
The game’s balance is also rather laughable. I used a supergro on my Laz and got an insanely powerful monster with base stats more than twice of everything around me. Some choice breeding later, and I have a small army of Laz and her children that just completely trivialize the game. I even found the legendary monster on the far west coast on a crescent moon that was level 60, almost twice Laz’s level, and defeated it in 1 attack thanks to the synch gauge.
Btw, to be clear, I’m playing on the Switch version. The monster designs are nice, and the cross breeds are really cool. However, the method of passing down base stats means that it’s pointless to breed anything that isn’t insanely strong to begin with.
The story tries to be darker than your average monster taming story, but just comes off as really edgy instead. The main villain, (I’m assuming it’s the girl with the level 60 monster that ambushes you in the second town) is a giant edgelord/hypocrite that will presumably be beaten down by the end of the story.
Overall, I’d give it a 5.5/10. If you want to play it, I would wait for it to go on sale. In its current condition, it’s not worth the $30 price tag. Maybe $20 or $15.
Sadly, I'm still seeing a lot of bugs. There's lag and hit detection is non-existent for some npcs and even rocks.

I've had this game on my wishlist for a while and finally got it through Humble Bundle. I want to like it so bad, it has good parts, but the bugs are really killing it for me. There are so many small quality of life improvements that could have been made as well. The lack of polish killed my excitement. I'm still playing but it's not as fun as it could have been. Honestly, it wouldn't have taken much to fix this game.
How is the Switch version of this now? Are the soft locks, lag, frame drops, etc fixed?
I've only found one bug where one of my monsters was renamed to what I renamed another monster, but it was an easy fix. Maybe I'm just lucky, though. Still, $30 is way more than what the cost should be.

Haven't tried it on Switch yet. But to my finding, the Switch version is pretty unstable and there is quite some bug that definitely needs some fixing like flickering framerate, freezing, etc. that might be slightly annoying for your overall experience.
But will probably grab this once the game is more stable on the Switch port.

While I'm pulled towards this game the insane amount of bugs and lack of polish overall really hurts. I get that this game had a really low budget but games like Horizon's gate have been made by a single guy and are quite polished.
I played 20 minutes and got softlocked twice in two different ways, went through a wall and almost softlocked myself. On top of that the game has a really weird pacing sometimes text in battle goes too fat, sometimes it's too slow. It feels like the coding is really rough and a lot of it could have been polished. Monsters in the overworld also have the weirdest behavior they go through random things.
I'll give this game another shot because the fusing alone intrigues me so much (and the music is weirdly catchy I can't get it out of my head) but man is this game buggy.
I'm a Kickstarter backer (who hasn't gotten a key yet because delays)- I know Jason is working on bug fixes, so I'm kinda glad in a strange way I'm delayed from playing since I feel my first experience might be better. Its hard to wait but... at least there's support!

Its a pretty cool game, while i like that it isnt saccharine and juvenile with its story telling its hard to say if grim and edgy is the any better for me. Having some hiccups performance wise tht i hope can get patched quick but other wise Im still pretty hyped to really dig in

🤔 so if you manage to find super grow and use it on Laz it will become it will transform.
That 3.6 growth to Magic is tempting...
However if you ( now you can use Anti-fungal but that's boring) use "Apo's light" and purify Laz back into a Apo and then use Super grow 😏 you turn apo into the powerful legendary Apo 3.2 Magic but I like the L.Apo form better 😁👍

I have the game on switch. Not super far yet but I will probably set it aside until some patches roll out. It is quite buggy in its current state. Most aren't game breaking (though some are) but the little things add up to break my immersion.
There is one issue that really bothers me and i am not if this is a bug or a design choice. Transitions in battle are VERY abrupt. There is no animation for a mon getting KOed. First time my mon died i didn't know what was going on. It just instantly went to the monster select screen and it took me a while to figure out what had happened. Another instance was very disorienting. I attacked a mon with a move that has an animation that kinda covers the enemy sprite. Other tamer switched, i killed that new mon, then he replaced his mon. But it all happened so fast what i saw on the right side of the screen was mon1>attack animation>mon2>mon3 all in the course of about a second or 2.

I'm still pretty early into this game, and I'm sorry, but the XP gain so far feels on par with Dragon Quest 1. Maybe gaining XP gets less slow the further into the game I progress, but I dunno if I should count on it...
On switch...no. You can join the discord group and tech support is nonexistent for the switch port, every time I found a glitch, I mentioned it. No sort of appeasement, not even a response. The barn fire glitch, going to one to heal up or whatever will freeze the game, causing you to do a soft reset. Removing the rocks in order to change the water pressure to get through that mining cave... rock gets stuck on your head, and trying to put it down causes a glitch now you gotta start the game over. Every glitch i encountered so far ends with you having to start the game over. It wasn't ready, and the patches can't happen as fast on the switch port. There are some good things, and there are some bad things...but thing to survive..like the camp.... that has to get fixed. I want to give this a good run once it gets patched again.

Could anyone explain hot breeding for me? I've done it a few times and got some worm like dragon monsters but I can't do anything with them since they are too young. Do I need one of the clocks for these?
No, they change as they level up, so either use the Exp share system or swap them out at the beginning of a battle.

I picked it up day of and, while I enjoyed it, I had to stop playing due to the constant bugs. I have to say that I regret this purchase. At $39.99 CAN on the Nintendo eshop, this game is wildly overpriced, especially for something that just is not completed. I sincerely hope there's a major update for it to make it not just an expensive lemon.

ouch, I bought it for $5 and I feel scammed, thats how buggy and broken it is, it literally crashed every 8/10min last night.

Im playing on switch and im locked cant move this is the third time it has done this i have to start a new game everytime since theres no fast travel that i know of
Been playing this on Steam, and so far, I can basically sum it up as the 8-Bit Version of Scarlet and Violet. It can still be fun, but there's a lot of sloppiness, such as monsters appearing in trees, the unresponsive water mechanics in the first cave, your house not scrolling porperly/being too wide, etc.

Yea I can understand why some people may have been upset about the bugs, there are definitely a lot, but I think too many people see the bugs and aren't able to see the amazing game that lies beyond them.
Gameplay sounds very interesting, but I can't really get past the art style of the monsters themselves, especially with how out of place it is compared to the rest of the game's graphics. Looks reminiscent of Pokémon RBY (even GSC-esque looks would have been fine). Huge turn-off for me. I assume this was done to simplify breeding+fusion systems, but the price paid isn't worth it IMO.

Monsters don't evolve. You can use items on them to transform them but only specific ones.

They come out November 2, as well as the physical version for switch in the US. I had to find this out the hard way when my preorder hadn't even shipped and what I *thought* was the release date had come and gone. I follow the dev on twitter and not ONCE was this delay on certain platforms communicated, just continual hyping of October 12 as the release date. I'm really disappointed in the lack of transparency to be honest, that combined with the bugs and a lot of people saying the story isn't great is making me consider cancelling my preorder. I mean, I'd still like the game eventually, but maybe I should wait for a sale instead...

At 10-15$ this looks like a COOL GAME BOY COLOR GAME. But in truth 30$ is OVER PRICED for what this is. A very old 4chan HOMEBREW project (not even properly produced and as such this is poorly priced period and not ANY LONGER..in the spirit of homebrew when you CHARGE MONEY FOR IT ANYWAYS but that said) that was not worth 10$ when it came out on forums all those years ago and its worth even less now. Drop that Eshop half off sale more often youll ACTUALLY SELL THIS TITLE WELL. otherwise? HARD PASS based on the 30$ price tag ALONE (JUST HONEST FEED BACK SORRY eshop has way too many better games like nexomon to even consider this title over any other like it in its genre even a pokemon remake is better than this for my money.)
If u think gameboy color games look like this then you've never played GBC. This is more comparable to GBA and DS. Also nexomon and this game both have their ups and downs. Nexomon has better story, coromon has better gameplay

Yes it does have quite a few especially in the switch version but apparently there was a mix up and switch got an old build so it should be fixed soon

Honestly, I don’t see the appeal of the creatures. And that’s kinda of why I am initially interested in playing any monster taming game, so I’m going to pass on this. The overwhelming majority look very ugly and grotesque, and not in a good way. There doesn’t seem to be any cohesive design theme. The Gameboy Color ascetic also makes them even more unappealing. There’s no use in all the mechanics if I have no desire to use any of the creatures aha

It really is. I first played it a year ago when the early access started, and playing it today I can't tell the difference. Unintuitive UI, framerate drops, unbalanced level curve, and bug after bug after bug. Heck, just yesterday I was exploring and my character gets stuck on nothing and I had to reset. It wasn't even some out-of-the-way part of the map, it was a small bridge that crosses the main pathway just after the second town. Like, the game does have charm, and I really want to like it, but it still needs a ton of polish.

in short, no don't get the game, it's buggy AF, the game crashes over and over and over, they have been promising fixes for over a year now then have the balls to complain about steam/consoles putting their game in sales costing them money(a broken game mind you for $30) releasing a monster crown card game.... while the game is still broken and neglected, hell I tried yesterday again I kid you not the game started crashing every 8/10minutes, monsters not learning their skills even though it learned one, monsters spawning outside the map and the list goes on.
$30.... broken is broken, how many people work on it is irrelevant the game is still being sold while broken and worst of all neglected, takes me back to Risk of Rain 2 -.-
