I love that “figure out a plan out. Now everyday you’re here is by choice” it’s such a great bit of advice, and it makes you feel like you’re there by your own volition, and in humans, if you believe you are there by choice, you feel so much better.
I think a good comparison it would be reading a book on your own compared to being assigned reading by a teacher. I can really apply this to my life

I’m sure you’ve prob heard of it, but the movie “I Love You Phillip Morris” is based on Steven Ray Russell’s story. He actually managed to fake having AIDS, go clemency to go to a hospice, and escaped. I doubt it would be that simple now, but he escaped so often that they house him in like super max.
Trying to understand what's happening with people is the humane thing to do. That officer is a good person
