Meeting the governor who granted me a conditional pardon and thanking him for my second chance #prison #reentry #story / @second_chancer linktr.ee/second_chancer
Recidivism starts before an individual is released, you are a shining example of that. I personally witnessed your change and commitment to model the way. Continue my friend, continue.
I had to watch this twice, this is the first time I have seen you with hair and I was too distracted by it to hear the words you were saying the first time so the second time I got the story finally!
"This is me the day I got out of prison" - Shows a picture of himself slumped over at a bus stop with a hypodermic needle, sticking it out of the crook of his arm As he slowly turns blue due to the lack of oxygen.... 😂😂😂
not being a repeat offender is a good thing, but you should understand that the world is full of people who were not even given one chance, born into poverty, didnt commit crimes, so your second chances are good, but not better than those not given one chance.
I think he understands that. He is constantly saying how lucky he is. And much societal and prison reform is necessary to reduce the amount of criminals.
You are doing a great job continuing to make a positive difference in the lives of others.

it's not given to everyone to grab opportunities and make it a positive experience. So nice to see you striving and thriving
This is what prison was intended for REFORM. .
You are an inspiration.
You were so fortunate to receive that pardon. I don’t believe the governor in our state would do anything nice.

Wish prison would focus on education/trade/mental health etc.
You look so much healthier now. No more sunken cheeks 😊
Some people deserve a 2nd chance others deff not .. I turned my life around 8 going on 9 years ago
This is amazing to hear. I’m just starting to work as peer support specialist at this moment.

You mentioned a pardon that doesn't involve release. What's that all about? What does that look like?
