regarding the smoke machine: As I have multiple years of experience working with stage equipment my guess would be that it hasn't been cleaned properly. The smoke fluid has to be drained and the machine has to be flushed with distilled water EVERY time after use. If you forget it 3 to 4 times you have to disassemble the whole machine to clean it with alcohole.
I call my mouth my alcohole.

MY last HAF case was massive -- and served me well for over 10 years. Glad to see Cooler Master attempt to re-boot this concept. The front panel reminds me of a 50's car grill.
My coolermaster HAF is rocking for 13 years now, had to add a 5" USB 3 front plate (6x USB3) and the Aluminium case is still fantastic
Now that you mention it... Heck, keep it plastic and make it chrome instead of glass. Lighter, and more of an ol' Chrysler vroom vroom vibe instead.
Plus, you know, less of that fuckawful RGB stuff.
Still have my 932 in the household. It's actually sad how much better it cools hardware in comparison to new cases with glass panels and a closed front.
My current rig is in a HAF-932. I replaced the drive cages with a second front 200mm fan and a 2x200mm radiator, runs cool and quiet.

I just recently retired my HAF 912 with an overclocked 2600k.
Surprisingly, it still ran fairly well when I started tearing it down!
I love it! If I was building a system right now, that is definitely one I'd consider. Love the design and size. Especially actually having air flow.
You know the thing I love most, honestly, is the two 200mm up front (and Im sure more applicable up top too). Bring back 200mm case fans. My Corsair Obsidian 650D is still killing it!
Yeah one of the reasons why I ended up picking up the HAF XM back in 2013 for the 200mm fans, less noise but looking at cases these days, nothing really floats my boat not a fan of glass or lack or HDD space, but everything is basically shoe box greenhouses these days lol
@@phillvallace I picked up a cooler master full size case over the xmas sales and it has 2 x 200mm fans in the front which work very well , Altho it has glass panels on both sides and my cable management isnt the best but that side is kinda hidden .
But yea 200mm fans get the job done 👍
The coolermaster H500 series also has 200mm fans on the front. It also fit them on top.
@@Skylancer727 Yeah I've looked at the HAF 500 but has no 5.25" bays only two 3.5" bays, no side or bottom fan slots & glass side panels, big difference from the old HAF XM i have & 33% darer, doesn't really get me going too much to be honest

The HAF X was one of the most legendary cases a decade ago. Nice to see CM continuing to expand on that legacy with a modern take.

I sold mine about 5 years ago, but since I hate how few harddrive bays modern cases have - I've been considering buying another one.
This is actually a really cool case, I would love to see a water cooling build as well. Or a Max quiet build because of the big front case fans
We made a watercooled solution in it with 4x 360mm rads in it last year with chrome fittings and EPDM tubing.
For this price I would expect more modularity, such as being being able to do horizontal builds and a full flip left/right build or at least a option to build a mini-ITX build in the power supply compartment. I could see making a desk out of one of these in a horizontal build and a slaved second front panel mirrored on the other side of the desk; this would give the look of a car or trucks tail lights, or the engines of a space craft.

Right in the feels with the 5.1 analog outputs diss. I'm still using my 17 year old Logitech Z-5500 with those.
Cases don't really ago though, that's the great thing about them! A well built case from 10 or even 15 years ago can still hold up today (if maintained well)
Z-5500 was a great value. I'm still using mine too and it was $225 way back then.

Z-5500 gang! $223.43 on 3/31/2008(thanks amazon) and I'm still using the original control pod and sub. I replaced all the satellites last summer with some Harmon Kardon hks-16bqs I found on CL or fb marketplace for $100 and they sound waaaaaaaaaaay better. But I still have all the logitech speakers and they work just fine. My G9X and di Novo edge from the same era still work great too!
Still rocking my HAF 932 from my old x58 build..it's held many different motherboard/cpu combinations. Love it to death...

Still have my HAF X from years ago, was building my new 11th gen system in it. Everyone told me that few cases would match it's airflow (while also having room for an optical drive) today. I just wish Cooler Master didn't insist on that screwless/toolless design, it's FAR more fiddly and a pain to deal with than just using screws.
call me old school but i kinda prefer screws too... can't go wrong with them and whatever is screwed down, is SECURED

@@nameresu there's literally no way to provide better airflow to a gpu, than a side intake fan. unfortunately they got rid of them in favor of looks. i'm still using my HAF-X and i'm gonna use it for my Zen 4 build as well
Hdd screwless was so bad on haf x i had it but 5.25 the locking mechanism was good wish i hadnt sold it to be honest
i remember as a kid getting into computers i would hook up fans between the plus and minus 12v rails to run them at 24 volts,and they all took it fine,nowadays I run 24v fans at 12v for less noise

I built in this case this week! it's an outstanding case to build in. I wish I wish I could share a picture or two.
My system specs, Asus Rog Dark Hero motherboard, Amd 5950x overclocked to 4.6, with a corsair H150i 360 aio, 64gb Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3600, overclocked to 3800. Overclocked MSI 3080 gaming trio vertical mounted, (had to change cards, 3090 had issues) 19 total case fans, running push pull on the aio, 1300 watt Evga 80+gold power supply 8tb of ssd (2 are gen 4 m.2 drives) custom cables. I absolutely LOVE this pc case.
Hi, I will mount a new build with that case and a MSI Z790 Tomahawk wifi DDR5 with two 360 radiators in up and bottom of the case.
I want buy 2 pack of 3 XSPC rgb series 2 argb pwm fans, so six fans. How should I connect them with the ARGB controller of the HAF 700 EVO ? I mean i want to control them with the cooler master software. Thanks for your answer.
I've been making mini itx builds for a good 5 years now just to avoid large cases and the weight. But this thing really makes me want to reconsider.
it's a return to true aesthetic maximalism form. I'm still rocking the antec 900, and I deeply appreciate this returning trend. I wish it included the customizability that cases used to have, but it's no slouch compared to modern offerings. No optical bays and no side window airflow both suck, but the water cooling options have come miles.
Cases with drive bays design is so meh and good luck finding a true 3, so you can have two drives and fill a bay with tons of front IO and card reading.
I don't think it even needs side airflow considering it's nearly as good as an open air test bench already.
Antec represent! I had the 900 before I switched out to the 1200 because I needed more HDD bays. Been rocking that since 2010, and it's held three different builds as I've upgraded.

@@xbolt90 damn, I cant imagine needing more hdd bays than 9, but power to you. Personally I'm using most of that space for a slightly jury-rigged AIO mount, with some designs for custom front panel i/o that will be thin enough to sit in front of the fans without disrupting airflow. Already got a usb hub on the very top bay, looking for a card reader next.
I like Cooler Master's push for big fans in recent years. If they really wanted to develop a new fan platform, this case could easily house 240s in the top, and with some retooling the bottom and front as well.
I'm hoping they're also serious bout the HAF series again. I could see some interesting cases coming out of this, especially if they revisit the HAF Evo XB style of case, or the stacking cases.
Big fans ftw, I'm convinced they are generally quieter for how much air they can move.
I remember back in the day when 80mm fans were the normal it was Cooler Master (and some others) pushing for 120mm. Why I went with a Cooler Master case/120mm fans, this was back in 2004 or 5.

I have an earlier version of the HAF case, what a legendary case. My new Lian Li O11 Dynamic XL has 10 case fans to cool my 12900K and 3080, still very quiet.

Pretty crazy case! Crazy price, capabilities, and looks. One of my only gripes would be the lack of 5.25" bays cause I'm old school like that, but the aesthetics and fan possibilities is the trade off. Love seeing big fans, and lots of places to put normal sized ones. That cable management cover and the fan space next to the motherboard IO are definite cool points in my book. Undecided on the tool-less nature of the case, I always question the longevity of the mechanisms used; unsure if the ease of use outweighs the reliability of traditional methods. Other than the price, props to Cooler Master for taking the risk and making a case I'd totally consider if it weren't for the cost being more than the current value of my used build lol.
yeah, it'd be nice seeing some 5.25" bays fitting in where the basement in most cases sit. offset the fans to the top so the airflow stays there
Yeah. 5.25" bays are actually pretty fantastic for expanding case functionality. You don't need to buy a new case when your front panel I/O needs change or technology improves. Just add in what you need.

Ah a man of taste and refinement as well I see. Honestly that's the actual reason why I went with my Phanteks, because you'll pry those optical drives from my cold dead hands and plus I also wanted to just mount a card reader in the front. No, I am not wasting a USB port on some messy looking external drive, and I've been charging my vape pens and plugging my HOTAS into that exact extra port I got with the 5.25 card reader anyway. I think if I had a 4th slot I'd probably be considering one of those old manual fan tuners at this point. You remember those? WIth the dials and shit in the front and some had the LCD panel showing you fan power?

The Thunderbolt connector on the mainboard is actually to connect a front IO Thunderbolt port.
Alex should know that - he built the Fractal Torrent Nano, which has such a connector.

Hey bud, just checked the video of FD's Torrent Nano, it's a USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-C port on its I/O (same as this HAF)...

I have bought the Torrent Nano after watching the video and have migrated my rig from my old case into the Torrent Nano. The front I/O of the Nano has the same connector cable that Linus showed on the motherboard in the video above. So I‘m 100% sure it‘s the same plug. I can send you a picture if you provide me with an email…
I have a HAF 932 for over 10 years and thousands gameplay hours. It's a monster case with extreme airflow, kept all parts cool and in excellent working condition. Rust showed up in some places but nothing serious.
i have an old HAF 920 case from like 2010. cost me like $100 at the time and still came with two 200mm fans with enough expandability to install radiators for my 2017 watercooled cpu/gpu build. phenomenal value back when a decent case cost like $50. $650 seems a lot until you consider it might be the last case you'll ever buy.
Can't believe the same company also made the NR200p that fits the same hardware. I hope Mini DTX motherboard will get a second PCIe slot (for a capture card or something like that) so we can say goodbye to these 90% empty space heaters
even if it fits the same stuff the NR200p would still run hotter. I'm cooling my 3090strix oc with an uber old case that is huge, and cools still well. Cosmos 2.

I definitely wouldn’t want to pay the premium for this case, designed for lots of fans, and then go with a loop. I’d feel like I could’ve bought more lighting with the extra money instead.
It's crazy that "high airflow" has to be a selling point on a case, something only meant to hold your PC parts and provide enough openings for airflow.
I really dont care for cases, but Looks, capacity for HDDs or noise insulation usually all work against high air flow and are things the manufacturers have to keep in mind
That's because many cases have restrictive or limited openings and mounting points for airflow and rad support. This one apparently doesn't have that problem.
Current high end parts emit some 500-600 watts of heat combined
HAF comes from a time of bland, closed cases
I have the Cooler Master HAF 912 with two 200mm fans. One in the front and another on top. All air cooling. Also love having 5.25 drive bays for my Blu-Ray burners.

Yeah I always wanted to build one of those monster systems. I've never understood this love for compact systems, I want big, roomy, and easy to work in.

My Coolermaster H500 uses two 200mm fans at front. Coolermaster has a big tradition with 200mm fans and mesh airflow. I'm happy they changed the H500 into mesh... They firstly cared about looks. Now they care about airflow and looks.

I own the CM Cosmos and Cosmos 2 cases. At this point, I’m over owning huge cases. Plus the costs have gotten outrageous. Can’t see paying $650 in the US for this new HAF case.

I have gone the complete opposite. I am actively aiming for the smallest case I can fit my components into comfortably.
I do own I cosmos 2 but sadly I have it in the closet right now. rocking my Lian Li Lancool II Mesh though, wish I had space for the Cosmos 2, the amount of storage I had with it was literally my home server for storing lots of videos, pics, music, documents etc, 47.8 TB. Now days, it's all about streaming from Amazon prime, netflix, disney+ HBO etc.
Still using my Cosmos II. I love it but yea I'm kind of over it. It will soon be retired and become a home nas

I love this huge cases so much I still have with my brother's PC a HAF X, my wife a Cosmos 1000 and I have a Cosmos II and a 690 II
This is a really cool and industrial feel case. I like the direction Cooler Master is going.
Oh, and if you get the VRAM on that GPU that hot, it will die very quickly...

haha i'm still using a haf-x too. everything else is literally inferior for everything that matters to me, but i would change to something of this performance that is not full of plastic.
im using the HAF 932 with 200mm noctua fan in the front, and 4 other 120mm fans. dont see a reason to upgrade other than wanting a glass side panel
@@ikswotianop Yeah i have still using my 932 from 2010, it fits a 3080 and has tons of air flow. The front IO is rather outdated, but I purchased a USB hub and installed it under my disk drive which has 3 USB 3.1, 2 fast charging USBs, and USB type C. Don't see any reason to get rid of it.

I used to own a HAF-X. That thing was a beast. A very noisy but effective beast.
I’ve been noticing recently in videos they’ve been using like, business lingo or whatever and then putting what it means in subtitles on the screen I really like that lol keep doing it!
Would be great see the 5.1 audio tests... using analog 5.1 spdif, and hdmi from gtx series to rtx and some kind coverters...
I'm currently still using the HAF-X and its a wonderful case. I love it, and it does lower the GPU temps by quite a bit. Great airflow.
Only problem is.. its kind of heavy, and the ports are all ancient USB2 and 3.
getting a front 5.25 bay with USB type C is the easiest thing. The HAF X will never get old because of this, whereas the new ones will be obsolete as soon as there's a new port in the market. On the other hand, i find myself using less and less cables so port count is becoming less relevant. Nowadays i do almost all data transfers through network/cloud, my headset is wireless etc.
@@Amfibios Agreed. I've installed USB-C, SD card readers, and myriad other bays on my HAF-X that keeps it modern and relevant to my needs. Plus adding an additional 200mm fan on the top of the case, coupled with GPU brace/fan makes it that I'm getting crazy airflow through the thing. I think it was a good idea that Cooler Master added wheels to the thing, because it's seriously a big boy. This HAF 700 would've benefited with the same, or at least make it an optional choice for owners.
The hafx is 14 kg. Was hoping for an improvement. Like modern big case 10 kg. But this new one is an abomination

My last foray with CM and unusual PC cases was the test bench-with-a case HAF XB Evo. While airflow it did provide, it's been 7 years of upgrade nightmares as you have to pull every major component to do anything even as trivial as adding another SSD because of the split deck mobo mount and having to run wires in a dungeon beneath it. Using it, however, is quite nice as you get a horizontal mobo and a vertical mount GPU without the hassle.
This one being something of an upright version of that case looks interesting, but I'll bet it's chunky in the price tag, too.

As someone with a Cooler Master HAF X case that I love and would love to see an updated version of with 5 1/4 bays on the front I would love a case like this... if I could afford it... and if my desk could handle it.... I also like the screen at the front, would certainly have the CPU and GPU temps showing.

I've had a HAF with a 5820k and rog rampage v extreme since you did your overclocking video of that CUP and motherboard. The HAF I is hefty.

6:21 Nice to see that they still put 5.1 audio on the boards. I really love it for gaming, you feel like you are inside of the game and not sitting in front of it. Together with a big curved monitor, it's a really nice experience. And I use speakers because I hate headphones.

Don't look at Gigabyte's z690 series of boards if you want 5.1 audio on the motherboard. My z690 Aorus Elite Ax DDR4 has a crappy stereo output (it fails to even output audio to my speakers half the time) and apparently even the top of the line variant has the same "solution". I wouldn't have bought the board if I had of known about it but who expects a modern motherboard to not have the standard 5.1/7.1 channel audio solution onboard?
I ended up spending like $25 on a external 5.1 soundcard that is miles better than the Gigabyte solution.

@@emu071981 tbh it sounds more like you haven't configured the mobo drivers well. I'm running a Gigabyte B550 Pro-P and I find the audio solution to be probably the best I've ever seen.
It lets you decide what to do with each audio output/input (be it line-out, line-in, 5.1 etc), it just need the mobo audio drivers (both the realtek and the app-center, don't ask me why but it refuses to work without both)

6:27 am using all of 5:1 jacks in motherboard.
BT speaker with AUX input as center, custom built subwoofer ( central/sub jack splited with jack to 2x RCA ).
Creative Gigaworks T40 II as Left and Right speaker, and Creative Gigaworks T20 II as rear left and right.
It works perfectly as long you set all of them to same volume with DB meeter and room correction in Realtek control panel
I don't usually find cases to be much to write home about but I want one, it looks sweet.

I have a cooler master case. It is an oldie but a goodie and unlike a lot of cases out there plenty of room to work in.
Mine arrived a couple days ago. I can't tell you how much bigger this actually is in person. It is about 1/3 bigger than my aging HAF X which was already big. This case is gorgeous and looking forward to my Z690 build.
What do you think? Have you finished your build in it. Im considering this case for my first watercooling build.
@@Anilord000 The case is amazing but I have one issue and #coolermaster doesn't take care of customer service at all. I have filled out their form which is made to have you give up. They have no phone help either and they just ignore you when you finally get the form to work. My issue is the front panel has dust at the top that can't be cleaned. It's actually embedded inside the glass I suspect this happened when it was made. It's not horrible but an $800 case shouldn't have that. $150 case I would overlook it. The other thing to know is in order to use everything you need two 19 pin USB 3.0 ports on the MB. Mine only has one. I had to add a card which isn't a big deal but should be noted. I do love the case and the front LCD screen is really nice to add your own graphics. The CM software is bit wonky too. Everyone who sees my build is amazed mostly from the case. If they take care care of the front panel for me I would give it 5 stars.
@@scotts4125 yea I've heard some pretty lousy things about the uselessness of their customer service. Basically if you got a problem, that's exactly what it is YOUR problem lol. I appreciate the info. If that's been the biggest issue I'll probably roll the dice and get one. Thanks again.

I have the new i5 in my new build and i love it. Things once hell of a processor. Single core performance is very good.
Still have my haf x amd edition in my storage room.
I've put a phenom 940 and xfire 5850 in it with dual loop ek watercooling. I cant lift it alone. That's how heavy it is when you watercool it. An this new pc case, good luck trying to lift it.
Btw, mine comes with a detachable caster wheel, so i could slide it on the floor.
It looks really cool. They should make a smaller, more practical version of the case with the same styling.
had one of the original HAFs way back. thing was a beast massive fans eVERYWHERE loved it. but the person I have it to has not looked after it.. would for sure consider one for my next pc but they goten VERY expensive.

O11 XL Dynamic owner here, been rocking 13 fans for long while now. It's definitely a big help, you can feel the hot air blasting out of the case when I'm going full load.
I have an 011D XL as well and love the case. I have the top exhaust and side intake rads in push and pull while the bottom intake rad in pull and then the rear exhaust fan. So total 16 120mm fans. Most are EK Vardar DRGB but I do have 6 Bitspower Touchaqua Njords as well. They are solid fans.
I bought this case. It's glorious.

Defintly getting 1000D vibes with this one. But Im happy with my 011D-XL that has 13 120mm fans in it too
I will admit, despite it's price, I am somewhat considering it. It looks great and has (apparently) splendid airflow. And while most pc parts will burn out eventually, the case is forever. And this one is roomy so unless the size of parts blows up dramatically, I'll be able to shove in whatever parts future year brings.

I still have the HAF X with 4 Bitfenix Spectre Pro 230 and 3 Arctic P14 on the case.
I have fitted places not meant to be fitted with such fans.
All of them at 12V intake but the only P14 as exhaust at 7V because the positive pressure sent it out of rpm range.
Neat case, I would definitely consider doing a mega watercooling build in it. Unfortunate about the tarrifs though. $500USD seems about right but $650 is a bit much and also the Corsair 1000D can be had for $500 still
The latest MSRP from Corsair official site shows $529 without tax for 1000D.
But don’t forget the fact that the 1000D doesn’t come with any pre-installed fans while this new HAF is shipped with 2x200mm + 3x120mm ARGB, not to mention a Gen 4 Riser cable.
That tarrifs tho. Me no feel good.
@@haoyuchi2034 Yeah I mean if you need those items then they are of value to you, I never end up using pre-installed fans though lol. I can get the 1000D for $515 with free prime shipping on amazon
