"I troubleshooted it for about two hours. I fixed it by blowing compressed air on it, I have no clue why it works now." You just succinctly summed up my entire line of work.
Ah a fellow RWBY fan, you hyped for the new anime?
I had a PC that would just crash every few hours. The temps read 60°C, it would not have any warning, just at a certain point, keyboard and mouse would stop working, and it would still output video for a minute, then shut itself off.
Tried lots of stuff, RAM change, mobo replacement, PSU change, bios updates, changing bios settings regarding clocking, CPU updates, name it. The problem persisted.
One day, I just hosed it down with compressed air, and then it ran for a week without any issue.
Guess the machine spirit just wanted some fresh air.
nice Penny pfp
@@Moshthun
Mayhaps your recitation of the litany of processor cooling lacked the appropriate sanctified oils and incense. The machine spirit of the cogitator needed the appeasement of holy air to calm it. The Omnissiah guided your hand that day.
@@Moshthun I had an issue like this with an old laptop, (without a battery) the power chord wasn't supplying the correct voltage, and was under-volting the machine just enough that on high loads it just shut down.
I gotta agree with Linus here Alex, that may be an old "sleeper" case, but it definitely doesn't look like a sleeper anymore. That looks like an awesome retro case that wouldn't be remiss in a modern case lineup.
Alex just built the Singer of PCs.
That's not how you use remiss
@@AshrielDrummer I mean, it wouldn't be negligent in a modern case lineup. I think *J L's* use of the word remiss is perfectly cromulent.👌
Alex needs a raise
I can tell when people haven't watched Initial D. the car this case is based off of was the OG sleeper..... the AE86 trueno
One of the greatest projects I've seen on LTT. This build is pushing the limits, but not the 16 4K displays or petabyte project limits, but the limits a regular everyday consumer could have in a workstation. It's so Initial D not just in the design, but in its energy and philosophy - pushing your everyday workhorse machine to its absolute limits, outrunning everything expensive, flashy and conventionally fast. The computer just screams of love and dedication its creator have put into it. It just needs a speed test to make the other builds bite the dust.
There are few things I've seen on LTT that I've craved more than this. I haven't felt this way about a computer in a loooong time.

Alex has really outdone himself with this build, its fantastic.
Giving a good name to those of us named Alex
This is gorgeous, less of a sleeper, more of an awesome homage to initial D
the bit they did talking like the characters from ID when they talk about the Trueno made me giggle
I was going to say..."the white dude with the hat and beard," but... the white dude with the baseball hat and collared shirt, I guess... "That's a problem for later..." Lol, my philosophy on Life. ;-)
Omg I thought I heard wrong when Linus said "Bunta" too!
This is a crazy video towards the people into initial-D and car people. Thanks LTT team, really appreciate it.
I hope you were triggered by how Alex said Trueno like i was...
Very true love the show one of my favourite classic anime
Fr though I'm so happy that Initial D is getting the exposure by such a large channel as LTT. Hopefully this introduces new people to the anime and, in extension, car culture
Does any one know what on the side was written, pretty sure that is not fujiwara tufo shop written

Holy shit i didn't know you watched ltt
Man i watch your videos all the time and i see you in here that is crazy.

Doug, is that you?
YES! "THIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIS"
As a lover of a initial D I’m so glad this turned out so well from the name to the design it’s all so perfect. And I’ve never wanted a build more
Also a car guy + PC guy... I've never wanted a theme build more in my life lol
The hachi-roku was such a sleeper with Fujiwara's in it, so this fits the theme perfectly
All the PC needs now is a cup holder on the side so you can practise gaming without spilling the drink.
@@jakedomoto6802 The reservoir could have been a cup

I just want to say that Alex is amazing. He's the perfect balance of mischievous chaos and actually being smart and knowing what he's doing. Also shout out to Anthony just cause.
Not sure if talking about yourself or LMG Alex. Well played.

It is a shame that he doesn't host well, and his criticism of products sounds more like nitpicking. I actually don't watch videos he hosts. That's my opinion.

First thought was “that’s not a sleeper” at the start of the video lol. It looks like a modern gaming PC with an awesome retro case.
ruclips.net/video/MSHLzJ-nDE0/видео.html
I've been rocking an external radiator for more than a few years now and swapping round the direction of the fans has become a marker of the changing seasons. With them blowing towards you you get the nice warm air, which is perfect in winter. And, with them blowing away you get a nice cooling breeze, perfect for summer.
I'll have to keep external radiators in mind when I finally get a house (markets terrible right now) and a new desk (not enough space right now for what I want). My biggest concern is noise, I have a Fractal Design Define 7 case specifically because I wanted a quieter build while still getting good performance.
Yeah this idea is pretty cool, wanna see them do this again, but with a older case, with not many mods done to it.
I like how everytime LTT builds a computer nowadays, it usually involves angle grinders and drills. True pioneers.
This kinda feels like a continuation of the epic scrapyard wars pcs
every PC should, even modern ones. I haven't built a PC without a dremel in maybe 10 years.

Linus: "it's so fast that it's thermodynamically impossible"
My brain: "it's so fast that it's slow"
Apple: "It's so fast, we had to slow it down with a update!"
You should build an all-in-one sleeper PC inside an old, state-of-the-art, vintage console television.
A CRT TV? Not a bad idea, but you'd never fit an actual CRT in it or the aspect ratio would be wrong for a modern flat panel. 16:9 CRT's are too rare and expensive to trash for a PC build.
@@blairlohnes8103 no but you could take out the tube of one and shove in an at least somewhat fitting lcd

Go Bunta!
Initial D is one of the 90's greats for the anime world.
The Toyota AE86 Trueno was considered an obsolete car during the era of Takumi and Bunta's racing story.
The chassis was actually one of the amazing parts of this car, along with the heavier weight for downhill drift racing in Japan.
Throughout the series they face some challenges, and the car goes through different upgrades to combat the competition.
Awesome theme, team!
Definitely fits the bill. :)
Go SPACE BOY!
This pc will blast past a 4090 in the final few seconds of cinebench
@@redsquarejay 😂😂
Now we need the sequel to this PC: Shingo, a pc that can trow itself to the wall
Lol!
now wait for nakazato pc
a pc you can scratch however you want
How about a Mazda MX-5 Miata? "If a 86 can do it , so can I!"
The Final Stage Takumi's CPU makes magic smoke just seconds before they do a new performance record?
It has to be duct taped together too
I think one of my favorite things in these types of videos is seeing Linus' reaction to work done by the he team. You can tell he's genuinely proud of them and shows enthusiasm not just for the camera but for his employees effort. Even when something is asmiss, it's just a slight jab and for fun and quickly moving on. I'm guessing these are done in minimal takes so it's genuine and I think that shows.
So far - Bunta here is my favorite Sleeper Build. A realy sweet homage on Initial D
Anthony's scene is perfect
holy shit when the name "bunta" dropped i could not believe it. still dreaming of a ae86 even now as an adult. this was such a joy to watch!!! Thanks LTT
also, when that eurobeat kicks in.... you know what's up

I'm gonna go rewatch the whole show. For about a 20th time in the last 3 years.. :D
@@davicsl oi bruv shes got quite the bunda innit
20:49 Best part of the video, Anthony OFF voice looking at the pc made it perfect ! Thank all three of you for that reference to InitialD
I love how your workshop is coming along, i dont think there is any other tech channel that has so much variety in their content.
Sleeper PC is my favorite series that you do, I really loved the idea to go initial d theme. Lots of fun and great job!
Builds like this are my favorite. its the reason i built my pc in an old Compaq. love the creativity in using something that still has potential.
Nailed it. I'm right there with ya man. Got me thinking about using using an old Mac case thats translucent turqoise (fun to say) that I've saved SOLELY because the case is cool. Matter of fact, I have HUGE Mac CRT monitor 21ish" Thats a cool purple-y color. It'd be some work, but an interesting case fo sho.
Instead of going on to build x86 hardware for decades, it is really about time to change the cpu ISA to a fresher layout without dragged along stones of outdated tech.
There is ARM and RISC-V which promise a higher performance per watt without the need of heavy water cooling in the first place.
Hopefully things will change, when apple would build a new gaming console and hopefully without their proprietary metal api.
PS: All that heated PC just to run Forza Horizon 5, which also runs perfectly on a steam deck, which is also usable as a desktop PC.
Yes, I did the same thing with an old HP case. It came out awesome.
Wanted to do an old Fujitsu Siemens Case but the HDD cage could not be removed and you would have to completely customize it.
Also it would have to be low power
*Fist Bump* I’m using a Compaq case too. One thing I like is it almost bulletproof as cases were steel too.
These sleeper build are absolutely by far my favorite! and the Initial D theme is dear to my heart! Bunta is SUCH a fitting name!
guardrail, Shingo points, God Hand and God Foot themed PCs when?
Your team does amazing work, I have to say, you must be real proud to have put together such a great team. Alex, Anthony, and Luke are definitely your like minds. Linus, keep up the great work
The great thing about Linus: he really understands each individual's unique Talent; he doesn't become openly belligerent when realizing his employees are not as knowledgeable as he is; instead, Linus seeks to correct and admonish his staff "off-camera" whilst giving them the ability to receive "full credit" for the work he does on each build.
I'm not sure what you're referring to, is it the part where linus just got stuck saying yeah yeah yeah?
The little skit at 20:50 is just too perfect.
you will never be a real eurobeat creator. or a woman.
The Initial D theme added so much to this build! 🔥🔥
Stellar editing job on this video, btw.
Loving the edits on this video. Linus is fodder for perfectly timed cuts.
I love this especially the initial D theme. Great job team!
White pc, looking like an underdog and called Bunta... If wasn't AE86 themed, it would be a big coincidence.
When I saw "bunta" in the thumbnail I knew why they call it a sleeper
* eurobeat intensifies *
Anthony if he sees SLI nowadays: "Double lane rendering?!"
glad some other people still remember initial d (joke)
Never have I ever heard someone say "there's water in the PC" as calmly as Alex has in this video.

The "EUROBEAT INTENSIFIES" part of the video staring at 20:42 absolutely split my sides. Also fantastic job on the chapter naming and of course the amazing computer.

@@Okararu best of all, the song used there was Path of Desire, a recent release by Odyssey Eurobeat, which if you are familiar with eurobeat from Initial D, you may recognize the name Ken Blast, which is an alias of Odyssey's.
If a sleeper in the car world is leaving the outside crap while the insides can kick some proper ass, then this PC is the equivalent to a "RestoMod". Looks amazing, and putting the rad under the table like that is brilliant.
Bingo. This thing is way to flashy to be a sleeper. It’s a fantastic restomod though.
I think sleeper just gets clicks tbh

This is awesome! Funny that I actually did the opposite of this back in the day. I took a PCVRS720G Vaio and installed it into a antec case, swapped graphics card, more ram, HDD, etc. Built in in about 2006 and it still works to this day

Awsome build. Loving the Initial D references too!
Congratulations Alex! You nailed it
I have one of those exact VAIOs laying around. I'm definitely gonna copy this, thanks for the inspiration
this is literally the most beautiful build I have ever laid my eyes on. Also watching Linus try to drift a car was my 2nd favorite part of the video. "this is a good tune you're just bad" "oh no I have no doubt I am bad"
as an initial d fan myself i appreciate that you guys made this pic and the video, and the references to the show makes me feel like you guys actually watched the show. love this video
I feel like they watched a few episodes. They should have named it Takumi since Bunta never really touched the car except for... 2 episodes tops? When he fixed the suspension and then when he replaced the engine. Other than that it was just him in the shop or with his WRX.
@@oAPXo no takumi is dumb and bunta is the dad
@@oAPXo Yeah, but Bunta is the OG legend. You see him drift with literally no hands while lighting up a smoke, and he convincingly beat Takumi in his unofficial race against him in 4th Stage. He's definitely made out to be a much better driver than Takumi, at least for most of the series. They're probably a bit closer in skill by the end.
@@oAPXo well its still technically bunta's for the longest, so i dont see any problem with that. Bunta's side of his racing career could be a whole anime i feel like
@@mikestakeon who knows, since when takumi used the wrx he felt like that car was way better than the 86, but bunta definitely hs more experience tho. so id say its a toss up on who'd win in a race

I love this theme. I wanted to do a car themed PC for a long time. My first build was actually a Chevelle themed rig I did in the early 2000s for my younger siblings. It even powered on with keys that they all had their own of. Maybe again someday.
I’ve been dreaming of building a GMT400 Chevy Silverado themed PC one day lol, but Chevelle themed? That sounds so badass! Do you happen to recall the specs of your build?
@@TH3C001 lol. It was early 2000's and using old parts I had laying around. So it was probably a Pentium 3. The case was a basic beige box that I cut a hole in the side for an acrylic window. Painted the shell gloss white with satin black racing stripes. Airbrushed a hand cut stencil of a Chevelle logo on the other side. And of course I had to add white cold-cathode light tubes to the inside. Their dad actually still had it stashed away until about a month ago when he was getting ready to move. I wish I still had pictures of it.
@@Ferrariferg that still sounds awesome. One day I'll probably have a computer worth the time and effort, component-wise. I know exactly what I'd want for a GMT400 themed PC, I just wouldn't know how to incorporate the looks of a C/K1500, maybe logos and badging, but I'd want to go further and make it look like a piece of the truck, maybe like style the front panel to look like a grille lol.
@@TH3C001 That'd be awesome. Maybe get some actual badges. Funny enough I was helping my friend look for a gmt400 earlier today. Lol.
@@Ferrariferg I may get closer to that dream build after all. Just impulse bought a Ryzen 7 5700X (it is launch day after all lol). 5700X, 5.7 liter Vortec. 8 cores, 8 cylinders, that CPU is the true center piece to make the theme work for me just for those similarities lol.
I'm thinking of making a case that looks like the front section of the truck like if you sliced the front end off at the windshield cowl, and the side panel would be the hood. Might work better to build it as a horizontal desktop PC than a vertical tower, but for now it remains a dream to do that much detail, maybe it's closer to reality now though lol.

Be aware of red Leds though! Sometimes with red leds are the exact other way around. It only counts for red leds, the rest is exactly as you said.
