      According to Bernoulli's Equation as the diameter of a pipe decreases the pressure will also decrease while the velocity increases. That means when you take a pump with 37PSI of pressure at a 1" diameter and a flow rate of 9539 l/h and reduce it down to a 1/4" diameter the water will leave the fitting at 5.8PSi and 74.88km/h.

    For the next cooling experiment, try cooling a PC with a liquid metal loop like an early nuclear reactor.
    Liquid metals like Mercury and NaK (the preferred choice for cooling applications) can be circulated using a electromagnetic pump. The pump applies a current to the metal inside of a strong magnetic field, causing it to be repelled and move perpendicular to the magnetic field.

      As someone who dosen't work with high pressure fluids and really only has basic physics knowledge, i bet that they lost a lot of that "flow" in turbulence. I would expect that you can't just push the water harder through the series of small tubes with complex geometry and expect it to not just dump all it's energy into the walls (and into itself). Also, shouldn't they have tried to pull the water throug the loop instead of pushing it?

    • @kylerichardson514
      @kylerichardson514 2 года назад +19

      @@raphaelambrosiuscosteau829 Most of the time you want to push liquids instead of pulling them. Pulling them lowers the pressure, which causes cavitation, which is bubbles of gas popping in and out of existence. Cavitation eats away at the tubes.

      @@kylerichardson514 intuitively it feels for me that pulling would create more even flow through the loop instead of water coming out fast at the beginning and then dumping it all into the first couple of sharp turns it encounters. I do not know why it feels that way or if it's has any basis in reality though. Also, would've like to see flow meters at the start and at the end of the loop side by side to compare flow speeds.

    As an engineer, I applaud the use of the Bernouli equation (even though it wasn't used correctly). As the owner of a plumbing company though, I can only shake my head. As a computer nerd, I'm happy with this video. Next time, use larger diameter tubes, shorter runs, an electric motor for the pump... If your building uses chilled water for the A/C system, you totally need a permanent manifold to connect PC cooling loops to. Overall, a 7/10. I would say that he could outright just use the tapwater for cooling, and it might just do as good a job as this clunky oil drinking monster setup. After all, the tap water in a porperly designed building tend to already have enough pressure and waterflow in it, while such tiny pipes in these computers really doesn't need too much cool water at too high a speed to handle it. And yeah, wasting water isn't good, but you could always recollect them for other general usages or even for water heaters so ...

      I've already said this, and it's a very risky thing to say. Imagine you are on an island, and there is another island over there. And you want to conquer it. And they are ruled by a leader.
      "Oh but they are disciplined, and they obey their leader. It's impossible to defeat them." Ah, then we will impose democracy on them. Democratic propaganda! We will promote the most democratic way.
      "Oh, but they have nationalism! They will sacrifice themselves to protect their land." Ah, we will spread globalist ideology. Remove all notions of nationalism and patriotism, promote these ideas as evil. Turn them against each other so they will hate their own country and race.
      "Oh, but they also have incredible faith in God! They have such faith in God that they never abandon the front." Ah, then let's promote atheism and hedonism. Church time is over. From now on, only night clubs and pornography. They must be open about sex.
      "Oh, but the youth are healthy and strong. They're in formidable shape. They are the way the Creator made them: in his image." Ok then, from now on McDonald's, Coca-Cola, drugs, alcohol, video games. Let them be fat, lazy, weak, domesticated, undisciplined. We must abolish military service.
      "Ah... yeah but the other thing is that they are homogenous. They are a single people, a single race. There is no ethnic chaos." Ok, then in whatever way, we must send them boats with foreigners - whites, blacks, Asians, Muslims, Chinese.
      "But they have a lot of babies! 6 or 7 babies on average! They're happy to have large families!" Ok, from now on abortion, the pill.
