      @@torgnyhansson7409 It was a lot tighter then with the mixed relay, where she had to pass more runners and still got gold. Here it took til close to the finish line to get past the silver. Her split time of course mirrored that.

      Even as a Dutch person, I was sad for you guys too. I always root for the countries with respectively small populations to win from the established powerhouses and taking the bronze from GB of all countries would’ve been the most historically fun victory too… Ireland did amazing though, and it didn’t go unnoticed🙌

    Congratulations to Tean USA, specifically Sidney McLaughlinn-Levrone! She once again showed the world how good she is at the moment, what a phenomenon she is!
    But let's be honest: What Team NL has accomplished tonight is also incredible, with special thanks to Femke Bol! Despite her disappointment after the 400m hurdles, she managed to stand up and give her all in this race! What an anchor leg she ran once again, like the one in the mixed 4x400m relay!
    USA is without a doubt the deserved gold medal winner, but the Netherlands also deserve credits for winning the silver with an incredible race!

    The USA women are just awesome. Gabby Thomas has helped team USA win 3 gold medals in the 4x100, 200m, and now 4x400m. What a phenomenal athlete. She does it all with a smile and pure class.

      @@TheRealCompensator You could say the same for all athletes from all countries though. US and GB have populations of 345 million and 68 million respectively, compared to a meagre 18 million from the Netherlands. The bigger the pool, the bigger the chance you have some exceptional people amongst them. America has a fantastic team, and the time they put down was absolutely crazy, so a big fat congratulations to them… but that doesn’t take away from the fact that the Netherlands team was amazing as well.

      Could be hard races against Paulino. Perhaps they could force each other to sub 48?
      Current Femke could probably do a sub 48.7 a good day.
      I would like to see someone take down the world record of 47.6 but that is difficult to say the least.

      Rhasidat not only gives Ireland a great split she clears all the traffic so we run our combined best times without problems at changeovers . If Healy and Becker went first Mawdsley and Adeleke would be caught up in an obstacle course.

    Adeleke on the last leg would have been the best move for team Ireland. She could have headed off Bol or Nielsen for 3rd place

      She would have had too much ground to make up. Adeleke's first 200 is her strength, she's relatively weak on the 2nd 200, so you're better off leveraging that by having her slow down for the handover. Mawdsley on the other hand has a strong 2nd 200 relative to her first 200. If Adeleke can reduce the fatigue that sets in in her 2nd 200, she'll then be a no brainer for the last leg

      The difference between Mawdsley and Adelekes time was negligible. Ultimately it makes little odds. You can't really game a better time in these things so long as each of the 4 runs as well as they can. They all performed really well.
