@AllinTheGAme01 Good analysis on the race. Will say, not the last we'll hear from NED! Great observation on Femke encouraging her teammates after the race (8:13). Congrats to Ireland this time!
It's kinda funny and I noticed with other commentators too, but the commentator was still talking about Bol and the Netherlands even though Ireland are crossing the line in first, like the winner is a by the way. Commentator only had eyes for the Netherlands on the second leg too, focusing on Klaver going through the gears when Ireland made up the same ground and had already gone into the lead. Commentator couldn't even see Adeleke of Ireland
All I see is sports friendly ,don't focus on anything but atletics when watching the sports.Paris was so spectacular for Ireland and all other countries but as we struggled for winners so many decades inOlympic land I will admit we could not get over out gold bronze and silvers Awesome and realised we can do it.
Mind you, she was well back to begin with as the first leg runner blew it. Klaver was then in a position of having to make up a lot of ground - which she did - but then blew up in last 100. Great race, though.
Klaver had the 2nd fastest time on her leg and 4th fastest time of any of the women, although it did look like she would have dropped off a lot more if it had been 10 meters more to the handoff. The leadoff was over a second behind the field leader, though Ireland's leadoff was in the same spot. I believe that Bol could have pulled it off if she hadn't gotten bogged down by the Italian 3rd leg who held his arms out like a piece of trash and didn't move to the inside after handing off. That caused Bol to have to start a lot slower because she had to dodge to the outside a smidgen. Just watch at 7:05 Ireland definitely deserved the win, all four of their athletes were fast, both women breaking 50 second barrier (Bol being the only other woman to do so). Belgium did great as well, were really fun to watch. If their 2nd leg had been Klaver, they'd have gotten silver. If their 4th leg had been Bol, they'd have gotten gold, even with the slow 2nd leg from Van Den Broeck.
Last year, world championships Budapest, 4 x 400 relays relays involving femke bol were so dramatic. She continues to make it juicy for us everytime. No wonder even the commentator got carried away with this
Big Congrats to Ireland!!👏👏👏 Also, I'm thinking Bol is catching the 2nd place runner at the line ... if that Dude after handing off the baton wasn't directly in Bol's path causing her to sorta zigzag her way around him.
