Returning to their vintage best, the USA regained the men’s 4x400m world title with the fastest time for 11 years with a typically dominant performance.
Having surprisingly forfeited the title to Trinidad & Tobago two years ago in London their team of Fred Kerley, Michael Cherry, Wil London and Rai Benjamin stormed around four laps of the Khalifia International Stadium in a world-leading time of 2:56.69.
In the women's race, living to their favourite’s billing, the US squad dominated the women's 4x400m, blitzing the field with a 3:18.92 world-leading performance.
Poland, anchored by European champion Justyna Swiety-Ersetic, took silver in 3:21.89, a national record for the quartet.

USA has dominated this race in women for years and no matter how they change athletes, they still win.

The USA team has so many talented runners that I think they picked the names out of a hat on who runs next.

The polish anchor leg runner was incredible she did not go so fast and the beginning and reserved some energy for the finish. Otherwise her silver would have been taken by Jamaican Jackson

I'm impressed by this American powerhouse quartet without Allyson, Ross, Hastings or trotter. This is a great quartet indeed. USA has powerful reserves to draw from. Great sprinters from America.

I will have to say that the Doha organizers did a terrific job, at least from the television viewing perspective. I am old fashioned, but will have to admit that the use of the lights and images for the introduction of the finals was pretty cool.
