At that level, every small detail matters. The 1st runner needs to be a specialist 400m as that person has to run the big ellipse. The safe order is to put . . .m f f m. In a 4x100 m mixed relay, similar strategies are there but the order of the athletes won't matter.

@Treptune tbh, I think it worked because it is still their national record. Its just that indivisually their first runner(male with males) and third runner(female with females) both just arent the best. I mean their times are still very respectable but just not good enoigh for a medal indivisually. I would argue the strategy was a success as it did improve the team's time. Simply, Poland were not going to get a better time woth any other combination. The reason being they managed to get a very quick inside lane in 2nd leg and easy takeovers from 3rd and 4th leg as they were alone and in the inside as opposed to some of the mess that Brazil, India had in those takeovers.
The Poles came up with a great idea - to get away from the crowd and to have a clear track so as to focus on the running. It would have given them an advantage, but not enough to clinch a medal. I bet this idea would be employed by many in the years to come. Thank you, Poland, for thinking 'out of the box' !!

Love my 🇯🇲 team. Allyson Felix is amazing. I love watching her run. I'm a big fan she's so sweet and humble🇱🇷
Very exciting race. Congratulations to Allyson Felix for her accomplishments in athletics.
💟Allyson Felix's💟 win, which came just 10 months after giving birth, is remarkable! It demonstrates her dedication and superb (mental and physical) toughness! I respect AF for using her voice to advance maternity rights for athletes, too! She undeniably deserves to be (1) the most decorated track athlete of all-time, male or female, with 26 global championship gold medals, and (2) included in Time magazine 's 100 Most Influential People of 2020! 🥳🥳🥳My heartiest congrats to AF!🎉🎉🎉
I'm excited to see her in action and stand on the Olympic podium, celebrating victories @ the 🇯🇵Tokyo Olympics!
Without polish team"s running orders, it would be just another relay, well done Poland. Bravo. 👍👍👍
Why would they make the woman go last that just undid all their efforts and they didn’t even make podium...
@@rnsw4572 It doesn't matter if she went last or second or third, their overall time is their overall time. It wouldn't change just by changing the order. Every team eventually has 2+2 athletes, the order is irrelevant. The only thing they did was make the race more interesting to watch.
@@rnsw4572 true, it they would put men, they have a chance even in 5th place.
Those details make it interesting
My respect for Polish athletes especially the female athletes! I wish the 3rd runner could be more faster I think the 4th runner could make it to the top 3 at least.
Yes. Poland missed the bronze medal by 0.5 seconds. Justyna Święty, the Polish anchor, ran really well (50.1 s). But Justyna's teammates should have performed better. Particularly the 1st leg runner (Wiktor Suwara) and the 3rd leg runner (Iga Baumgart).
Cherry performed amazingly!!! possibly the best last leg ive seen!
This is my favorite relay event by far! I love the medley, that's what it was called back when I was in high school on the West coast. Except it was a male & female 4x2, and this was 22 years ago!
One girl in all boys at last lap 11:15 she really gave her best.. ❤❤.. Respect..
Only reasonable person in this whole comment section, respect 😊
@@joannasosnowska1601 😊thanks

Thank you for not being mean like the other men in the comments
If the 3rd runner for Poland ran like the 4th woman, Poland could have won at least bronze medal.
Why does GB always have a middle aged dad running ?
Rooney didn't make the individual so I guess the UK thing is to put him on the relay. I don't know too much about the UK runners though.
I noticed that too.
Rooney is so overrated and shit.
@@chrismoren1341 I wouldn't call a guy who ran a 44.45 400m shit
Chris Morén I meme over Rooney lol. He’s such a meme
I really miss madam felix to perform in the eight event.. thank you for being an athlete, may you always be healthy in the family 😢
Salwa Eid Naser was the MVP of this race. She received the baton in last place and took Bahrain up to "effective 3rd"
Much respect to the Polish team, their gambit made the race very interesting to watch. I will say that it is hard for me to imagine any more women allowing themselves to be put in the same situation that Swiety was in.
@treptune6535 i dont think they're being hateful towards the Polish team ... on the contrary almost everyone is saying g that their tactics made the race interesting .... as in make it widely obvious that this all idea that men and women are equal physically is BS. Could it be, they made it on purpose? 1 man vs 7 women made a 20 or 30 Mt gap. 1 woman vs 7 men (starting with a big gap) ... well ... 5th place.
Who ever thought of this needs a medal
Great great Allyson Felix...With love from Kazakhstan. Want to see you in the Olympics 2021!
Cherry not only closed the gap but made distance too 💪🏽 RIP poland
I loved it! I was routing for my homeland Jamaican but I was also wishing those Poland ladies to do well. Men can be considerably faster than women and that was shown. 🇯🇲

Me: He ate her up in 10 strides!! Daaaag!
Imagine what Wayde would have done then.
@@lancerooplall5338 We get it you're from SA but there was no Wayde here. It's Cherry's moment, let him shine
That's what my guy be doing to me every morning we get up and run 😂
@Simz Zxy ok 15 lol
Whew
India did so well on the first leg, they just fell apart after that sadly
EXACTLYYY
Anas was very very good
Anyway we did well,it was seasonal best run
Anas ran with 7 other world athletes but also gave his best ..but 2nd leg was very poor .. 😞
no they didn't, look 6:19
Allyson Felix♡♡
Me tooo
We Love Ypu Allyson And The USA
She's a legend ❤️
XDD
The Afro-Americans have something SPECIAL to prove vis a vis the inherent strength that GOD has blessed them with, despite all the EVIL that have been exercised against them. Such is embedded in their very genes to overcome adversities/ adversaries. I think of everyone of them as a spectacular package. CONGRATULATIONS to the US team. I hope Italy can can be like them...one day.
Thank you that was beautiful to say!!! Made my day😍
I am American here screaming run for your life run for your life to Poland I just love they changed the order and had a female anchor
I've watched this a dozen times, and it's always a thrill. Fantastic races by the United States!
Your kidding. Seeing men just come home so easily over the top of women. Thrill. Really.
I agree with the other comment ... you must be joking ... 😂😂😂😂
Felix, am so proud of you. Love from your fan frontliner, a nurse from Philippines. 😍😍😍
Who alison felix?
@@pemudanetizen4286 Watch the race and listen to commentators. The second leg for Team USA
Wow!!!! 3 out of 3 4 x 400 meter relays for the USA! What a dominance! Hope they will get all the relay golds in Tokyo 2020/2021 Olympics.
This was the 1st time I've watch the mix relay. I enjoy it!
This is a great example of why, on an individual basis, men and women sports are not equal.
I love the concept.
That last Bahraini guy must have run something very close to 43 seconds! When Naser as the third leg got the baton she was dead last, then she moved up to fifth position. When the last guy began running, he almost past to men to be so close to win silver. What a mentally strong performance that was!
No, he had a split time of 44.3 s.
Probably 44, but I was thinking the same. He was definitely eating up ground!
What an awesome running performance of anchor Cherry did for the mixed 4x400 relay team of USA! Fantastic is an understatement!!!
I love watching the mixed relay they should of done this longtime ago its fun to watch
Now i understand why athletics separated the men and women events...the last anchor shows clearly the superiority of men over women.
I love the friendly rivalry between AMERICA AND JAMAICA! 😁
That 4th leg for the polish team is a superstar , she’s totally amazing , damnmmm she was so good .
Yeah! Justyna Święty-Ersetic is very great. Look for her leg at ruclips.net/video/1As9FPEBajM/видео.html
@mark anthony so? Men run faster than women, nobody ever questioned that lmao
Her knowing that she was against all men definitely pushed her which is great
TheDarkNoVa Those transgender female athletes and their advocates do despite the fact that they are post pubescent genetic males that have undergone hormone therapy. 🤔
@@NovaTheDark the guys who change their gender to compete with women and then dominate their sport will beg to differ. Apparently their is no advantage when it suits them.
Geez Cherry is blazing fast. He closed that lead in a heartbeat!
I love allyson Felix soooo much omgg my new hero!!
great run by Muhammad Anas, there was a huge clash on 3rd lap beginning 7:14 for Inida.
Man!!! I love me some Alyson Felix, she's a BOSS
That's how you run anchor leg! Congrats Cherry team USA!!!👏👏👏
Allyson Felix is just phenomenal.most decorated athlete of all time male or female
But shes not though. Phelps has alot more medals than her
Cherry dude is hell of a guy 🤣 he got around that lady like a rocket
He should thank her, people noticed him because of her.
This is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. The second Polish guy was running away from women and responsibilities. Hahahaaa!
It’s great to see a mix of countries from the Middle East, Poland India and Brazil . It truly is a completely different game compared to the men’s and woman’s only relays
Congrats to Poland they do very well 🇵🇱👌and other medalists 🇯🇲🇶🇦🇺🇲
o0
lol Poland finished 5th what was great about their accomplishment
What about second, third and forth weren’t they also brave
I didn't think Cherry could bury the woman like that. Incredible.
imagine running against 7 fastest men, that is awesome!
Dat was a epic call rite there
How was it awsome when they just crushed her? She wanted to show off and it didnt work.
no, it's not you're just asking to lose.
Lmao, that praising felt so forced how weak are women to men, even the last guy got passed her 🐸
@@calistafalcontail you must be boring as hell
Also impressive on the track was Bahrain who went from 2nd to last to nearly 2nd place in 2 legs.
Very.
Muhammed Anas
Vismaya VK
Jisna Mathew
Noah Nirmal Tom
Proud of all the 4 Atheletes from Kerala, India competing the world.
The Poles came up with a great idea - to get away from the crowd and to have a clear track so as to focus on the running. It would have given them an advantage, but not enough to clinch a medal.
I bet this idea would be employed by many in the years to come.
Thank you, Poland, for thinking 'out of the box' !!
it actually is somewhat detrimental. running a race in the lead is significantly harder for most athletes. I promise you it wont start a trend lol.
Man gave her the "BEEP BEEP!" as he passed 🤣🤣😭😭
Cherry flew by that Polish girl like a bullet 😂😂😂
The mixed relay is soooooo AWESOME!!!
It’s just amazing to see how powerful those men are to be able to close such a large gap. Don’t think that method could ever work though. Men to start and finish
I feel so sorry for that polish woman, he passed her like she was walking 😳
She is an elite runner.....top 10 in the world

@@kobo-kanaeru how sexist 😆
