in brief: The video is about the method the host, Anna, uses to enhance her English vocabulary. Anna emphasizes the importance of learning vocabulary in context rather than memorizing random words. She shares her personal experiences and examples to illustrate her method, which is learning new words as she encounters them in her daily life, especially after moving to the U.S. This approach helps her understand the usage and context of new words, making them easier to remember. She gives examples from her life, like learning the names of various kitchen items (sink caddy, skillet, dressing, seasoning, sifter, strainer, dish drying rack) and actions (sifting, spreading) through real-life experiences and interactions. Anna highlights that understanding words in context, asking questions when unsure, and being in situations where one needs to use these words can significantly aid in remembering them. Additionally, Anna introduces and demonstrates the use of the Elsa AI app, which allows users to practice English conversation in a simulated environment. The app provides realistic conversations and feedback, helping users improve their speaking and conversational skills in English. She engages in a role-play scenario with the app, showing its effectiveness in language learning. Anna also suggests that if one doesn't have someone to practice speaking English with, they can describe their actions to themselves, either aloud or in their mind, using the new vocabulary they've learned. This practice helps in reinforcing the words and their meanings. The video concludes with Anna encouraging viewers to try these methods and share their experiences, emphasizing the practicality and effectiveness of learning vocabulary through real-life usage and context.gpt4
I've been using ELSA AI to practice my spoken English recently, I totally feel this is my English savior that I've been searching for a long time!! A person like me as an introvert always struggles to have small talk with people, but ELSA AI lets me let go of those hastations and makes me relaxed to express my thoughts in English, which is soooo helpful.
I feel stupid right now, I thought you were a native english speaker and I had that background thought that you wouldn't be able to understand fully the struggle of someone who's learning English as a second language. But then of course (just a few minutes ago) I realized you were actually from Ukraine and it honestly blew my mind. Both your accent and your speaking skills are spot on, that's definitely very impressive.
Your final thought is a gem; that's why your daily life videos are the most treachery ones. Not the English Language study but Real life and daily real situations. We all should start from that point and not learning vocab about uncommon topics.
I am an intermediate level, but I would like to improve my English knowledge. I will try to use the last piece of advice you gave us. It actually seems very reasonable to me to improve my English vocabulary. Do things and think in English about what you're doing. Sounds good!
As an intermediate English learner, I find your last piece of advice quite compelling. Actively using English by thinking and performing daily activities in the language appears to be a sound strategy for enhancing my vocabulary. This approach resonates with me, and I'm eager to implement it.
Прекрасное произношение и дикция. Слушаю на скорости 1.75 (как и весь контент на ютуб), при этом понимаю абсолютно каждое слово и все сказанное вцелом. Написал бы на английском, но ушел бы час, английский у меня слабый.
Hello, I like your teaching and your accent very much and I am starting to learn English. I am Kurdish and I live in Iran. I am happy to meet you and your teaching and I thank you for your efforts.
What you're so saying is so true! I remember back in the day when I was still illiterate.I used to learn words in isolation but it was incredibly hard to use those words in a conversation. I decided to read books in order to enhance my sentence construction and confidence. I was so amazed at how quickly my English improved when I used that strategy. To date, I still read books, listen to podcasts and use the new words immediately that I come across. They become imprinted in my mind easily, and I can use them spontaneously at will.
Could you share your experience, what should I do to improve my English speaking skills as I'm a beginner, though I can easily understand English but when it comes to speaking I got blank, So what would you recommend me to do?
Isn't it great how all those hardworking ESL learners make our lives easier? By mastering English, they save us from having to learn their languages. And unlike the French, we Americans don't get our panties in a pinch when someone doesn't speak our language perfectly. We appreciate their effort and embrace the diversity they bring, making our interactions richer and more inclusive. Cheers to them for their dedication and for making global communication a breeze for us!
I don't know how long you've been speaking english, but as a native speaker I have to say; you are incredibly proficient at the language. If it wasn't for a slight accent I wouldn't've ever guessed that english wasn't your first language. Very impressive!
I tutor people spoken English in Ukraine and I have to admit that barely a handful of channels originating not from natives are worth watching. Usually, it's just that pretty ordinary schoolish stuff seasoned (thx for reminding this word) with completely useless overwhelming massive grammar formulations. Or as I like to call it "slow shht show. Marfa Anzhelovna edition" (kinda local humor) And that's why I must highlight here both the obvious fact of your beautiful language and your approach! Well done! 4 real🤗 cheers up, you know. THX a lot! You nailed it! 😉
Wow! I'm so impressed with your English. I'm slowly picking up some Arabic words via the methods that you've described here. Lately I've been taking pride in being able to describe things when I don't know the word for them. For example, if I don't know "sink caddy" but I can say "the thing that goes by the sink, where you put soap and brushes," then I consider that a win! But like you pointed out, after having to do that a couple times and being corrected with the correct word, usually it sticks! Also, sometimes I can guess at the words...after knowing paper and paper towel in Arabic, I was able to correctly guess the name of toilet paper. The more we learn, the quicker the pieces seem to fall into place!
This video was beneficial! In fact, I have been using all these techniques for many years to improve my speaking skills, as I found describing what you are doing in real life to yourself is an extremely effective way to improve your speaking; because in this way you are your own teacher and can correct your mistakes and you will end up learning much easier and faster. I'll always recommend it to everyone.
I like this concept of remembering words. There are so many such words so it becomes difficult to remember all of them. These days, we can google them using image mode, this gives instant result and other items as well.
Thank you for sharing your learning method for English vocabulary. I just downloaded Elsa AI and it helps a lot. Making my own scenarios are very useful to improve my vocabulary for my business. I will be using this app every single day.
Thank you for sharing your video. I've already registered ELSA App. I always practice English pronunciation every day. I'm looking forward to watching your useful English video.
I have known from this learning journey 1.journey is long distance. 2.there are more than one methods that you need to involve them. 3.the vast majority of these sayings are not true: instead of these use another. 4.learning new vocabulary is crucial but not enough. 5.language learners need to learn grammar new words synonyms practice listening speaking reading and so on.
Hi, the way you are speaking is so much mouth watering for people who would like to improve their communication skills . Thank you for for posting wonderful video. It is so appealing.
A combination of reading articles and easy books (!) and watching videos helps me to learn and lock-in vocabulary in another language. Even so, don't stress over words like "sink caddy" until you really need to know them. I'm a native speaker, but I couldn't have told you that the device holding things near the kitchen sink is a sink caddy.😀
Great video! I completely agree with your approach to learning vocabulary in English. It's all about context and using the words in real-life situations. Keep up the good work!
This basically describes the process I create for my students in my classes. Find some real content about some real stuff, engage in some real comprehension of it for a real purpose, let the students take it in the direction that seems interesting to them, let them focus on the language they notice themselves, let them use the language if and where and when it seems relevant to do so, repeat something similar next time with some other content and objective, language gets figured out in context, picked up, activated, connected to related language, repertoire grows and grows.
Amazing video, I use this App and I feel better in my conversation. Also this App has speechanalizer and provid better feedback. Sorry for my English, I'm learning now 🙏.

Thank you for this video. Do you have any videos on IPA along with practices to improve pronunciation? Could it be the only way to learn pronunciation because relying on just hearing to identify sounds seem too prone to make errors because we dont pronounce in the same way nor we hear the same sounds, but we still need a target to reach which also guides us in the process? ... lets say Shadowing might not work because we might need a third party to correct us, we might think that we got the correct pronunciation, but with high probability we might be wrong.
