I had neglected signs of lower back pain until it was too late and started feeling my glutes were not firing while running. Then later got hit with Piriformis Syndrome. Now I am back to the basics and taking care of that part of the body that I'd taken it for granted.
Thanks Sandi. Another really helpful video. I sometimes suffer with lower back issues and glute problems so this will come in handy. I think if you sit down often on a laptop or work in an office it can lead to tight hip flexors meaning they shorten and the glutes don't fire properly leading to lower back issues.
Great stuff. Thanks so much. I like also your Cycle cross training program. May I ask what your opinion is on accessory or substitute workouts with jump roping? Calisthenics, especially for core stabilization? If you already have a presentation that includes either of these topics, I apologize, but I have not yet seen all your vids.
This is so helpful, thank you Sandi! I've been watching your videos for a couple years and I love you and Sage. Do you ever have problems with your hips getting sore while running? Have you/will you make a video on that maybe?
Thank you Sandy! Love the quote at the end too. Have you ever covered countering a lateral pelvic tilt and specific exercises to help engage the titled back or weaker side? Thanks again!
wouldn't it be better to do these after a run or on the days you dont run? seems like you would want your glutes to have energy for the run. but I can see how doing maybe one of the exercises before the run could help them activate. I had lower back surgery and glute bridges have really helped my back get stronger and less pain. I do both legs holding for a minute. then I do one leg reps, and then hold 30 sec about 2 sets each leg then finish with both legs holding again for a min. also, can you or sage do a video on preventing MTSS. shin splints on the inside of the leg
series333 I’ve found that landing on more of a flat foot under my center of gravity has helped me immensely for shin splints (I used to be a heel striker). If that isn’t working, try to be cognizant of how hard you are landing and rely more on the knees for cushioning rather than your shoes. I find these both help me a lot
I always love your videos and they’ve been very helpful for my running longevity!
This is all great advice! Thanks coach Sandi!👍
Just want to say thank you for all of your great videos! I am a fairly new runner and have been getting a lot out of all of your exercise videos!
Thanks for the tips! Excellent timing as I’ve had lower back pain the past few days and haven’t been able to run.
Definitely going to try these! Thanks Sandi!
Thank you Sandy.
Thank you

Fantastic. Will give this a try. Please post more of these. Thank you.

Thank You! I already have a legs routine, but those will find it's way into my daily practice!
I like the growth and fixed mindset quote!
Thanks will give those exercises a go 👍

Dear Sandi, I love your videos. Please remake: Running Form: 'Correct technique and tips to run faster.' Thank you.
Thank you Sandy! Love the quote at the end too.

For the glute pushups, are you working both leg glutes? I seem to only feel the glute on the straightened leg.
These are great- thank you
Another great video Sandi, you make it look so easy but...yea....its going to take me a bit, tried them and about died...very little flexibility lol
Awesome, ty!
I have issues with my glutes not firing. Thanks!
Need ideas for patellar tendinitis.
what is in your library? beside running books and travel books.

I don't feel anything in my glutes or anywhere near it in the glute "push up". I am quite certain I am doing it exactly like how it is demonstrated.
OT but how do you cope with inhaling ice cold air on runs?
How cold? If subzero °F, consider something like a windproof ski mask (balaklava).
You make this look easier than it is 😂😂
Bike riding gets rid of my lower back pain very quickly.
That was riveting
What a cute yoga mate :-)
they look like torture!
title makes it sound like you’re getting rid of glute strength 😂 great vid tho
thank you
