I enjoy this sort of cultural voyage.
Street art is different depending on the context in which it is made. The broken windows theory has merit when it is comes to a formerly beautiful place that is in disrepair ( like downtown Athens for example) but it does not apply to places that are already crappy but the graffiti brings an artistic element ( like the bad neighborhoods of Berlin for example. Neukolln was bad and dangerous before it started being considered bohemian)
Dari is starting to get more comfortable doing interviews. And better at it. Next step : a podcast 😁

Hey Dari, I'm an American with a Russian wife here in Tbilisi while we wait for her US visa (2 years wait - yikes). The rental prices here are insane - I paid less for an apartment in the US with a pool, gym and 24/7 security than a smaller flat with no amenities in Saburtalo. Enjoy Batumi - especially the Europe square and fresh seafood restaurants (something rare to find in Tbilisi). We're enjoying your videos))

This is such an interesting video Dari.It is good to see that you are being cared for by good, kind friends. The graffiti is really interesting and so colourful. It lifts the spirits of the city from the examples you showed us. I love poetry and was thinking that some of the war poems written by poets of the first world war could be applied to today. Wilfred Owen wrote The Parable of the Old Man and the Young which I personally feel is so relevant. Good luck with your painting.Acrilics are very colourful though I like oils too. Good luck with your plans.

I never wait for bills to pay - I just slowly walk out looking at waiters like - I kinda have to go, so..... You should see their faces.. They always bring you check immediately.
My approach to service in Tbilisi is - I am very polite, friendly, not demanding everything to be perfect, good tips but at the same time I can cause a problem if I am ignored. Always a fun game to play. Otherwise - u will be ignored... Though I am a Georgian so it can be more complicated for foreigner.

Also notice your english accent (speaking) has improved a lot maybe because now you share flat with others mates who can help you with that. Wicked 🙌🏻🌟
Maybe if doors close for you in Europe (don't give up) you can go to South America and you can have a lot of options there, cause is more cheaper than Europe and you will enjoy tons. Saddly you can go from Argentina (Patagonia) to Mexico only, but there's a lot of amazing countries that will blow your mind. Now from US to Canada, dont know. But hey, never loose hope 🫶🏻✌🏼🙌🏻

Greetings from a new sub that was sent over by Natasha. I'm with you on the street art over graffiti. I grew up in a suburb of New Orleans, USA, where both are _everywhere._ Graffiti tended to be gang tags or slurs in dilapidated parts of town, not so considered or creative as the commissioned & DIY street art on the buildings. I had never heard of Raf coffee before, but from the ingredients, it sounds similar to a latte? 👍

I take urbanism, landscaping quite seriously and for me random graffitis specially because it can be anything(including offenses, or just gangs highlighting territory) is quite damaging, specially for people living in that space and seeing it daily, there are sociological, psychological implications to all of that. But street art is excelent, my college campus did partnerships with students from the art institute to paint all instutites after its renovation since 2020, mine which is the computer science one is awesome with many that are just aesthetical, some are political statements, some are poetry written, tile art, makes the outdoors far more engaging and liveable.

I agree with Natasha that graffiti can be beautiful especially if it is done in an artistic manner by an artistic person in the right location. But in many cases, graffiti is done by vandals who just want to damage public or even private property like the ruins in Greece. In Soviet times graffiti was banned because activists used them as a means of protest, something that is done in many places even today. But I also agree with Dari that the wall paintings on the buildings of Tbilisi give the place an artistic touch that is quite magical. I hope one day soon you can do a painting like that and share it with us. BTW, I like your painting too. Praying for the success of your plans. God bless!

Graffiti has a time and place. If it is done by a professional who has a perfect setting then it can be an extremely cool thing, but if it is cheaply done it makes the place look very depressing and I think also brings down the energy of the people living there. It gives off a vibe and projects a feeling youre “supposed to feel”. I like some street art but it is very thin line of when it becomes a bit annoying. But of course what looks good or bad is relative to the person who is viewing it lol. Something that ive noticed about buildings in Russia is how the architect of that building will make it super unique. The designs can be very mathematically trippy. Like that dna building in downtown Moscow. That is so amazing! That is an engineering marvel. That is really amazing art to me. Or even a lot of these new apartment buildings have like this really cool looking pattern on it. I think that is so cool. Sometimes ill look at these ancient buildings from some kind of Tartariain civilization when they get super creative with how they make their own version of “Roman columns”. Something I’ve noticed too is that Russians will make a physical art with structure of the building to be all unique but in China they will make their buildings have unique light art with their skyscrapers. Like there are so many unique cool light installations on their buildings. I loved watching all their pretty lights and thought it was very artistic along with an engineering marvel on how unique and creative the lights were. Unfortunately we dont have this creativity here in america because we have things like city codes or like HOA (home owners associations) where we are not allowed to be too creative because usually someone will get offended and complain. Usually each week is a new theme of someone getting offended about something so its a very small window of what is allowed.

Victoria Terekhina recently bought an abandoned house in the desert of Georgia on the steppe for $10,000. Other Russians should consider buying houses for cash just outside of Tbilisi. It was built in the 1980s and so is not in too bad condition. It needs some work on the roof but otherwise is sound. She seems to be paying Russian migrants to do the decorating and repairs for her. She has a car. She visited a home for stray dogs in Georgia in a recent video.

Honest vlog dear Dari. In the case of Russian vloggers, today we can divide them into three part. Those honest ones who, when making their material, do not run away from why the situation is difficult and it is Russia's war with Ukraine. By the way, it lasts from the seizure of Crimea in the spring of 2014 and the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine from February 24, 2022 (for example, you, Natasha, Zack). The second group are those who routinely starting from 24.02. 2022 assure that they are not against the war, but in terms of what kind of war it was, what started it and so on, they behave like at an obligatory rally in the former USSR, where you have to condemn war, imperialism and assure your love of peace. But what and where it concerns: Ukraine, Mars, events in a galaxy very far away, they will not go through their throats. And the third group. You and Natasha talked about it in your live stream. These are those who talk about Russia, its landscapes, as if from 24.02. 2022 nothing happened. In a word, we invite you to visit our Great Russian Reich, where it is wonderful. I want to throw up when I see their channels. A channel like yours, Natasha's or Zack's makes you believe there are still honest Russians out there. Few, but they still existGood luck and greetings.

Thanks for the update, Daria. This video was very well done! So nice to see you and Natasha and Alena hanging out. Even though Tblisi has it rough areas, I find this city quite charming. The art there is amazing! Decades ago, writing and drawing art on buildings and walls was against the law everywhere in America. Graffiti became commonplace when "taggers" used cans of spray paint. They could quickly do their work in a matter of minutes and take off so they wouldn't get caught. Cities used to send crews out to paint over the graffiti and street art, but it became a losing battle. So over the years cities permitted street art and certain graffiti as long as it wasn't vulgar and gang signs. And for the most part street art nowadays is quite beautiful. You'll have to show us more of your art work, Daria. I love that Tiblisi loves their dogs. I've been a dog lover since I was a kid. I hope things work out well for you guys, because you're such good-hearted human beings.

The only thing I would say to help with English language is to use "accept" instead of "allow" because it sounds possessive, like to own. "Accept" is permission without imposing authority. "Allow" sounds like you are the boss of the person or thing you talk about. Great work, keep up. I have subscribed.

It isn’t easy to be a digital nomad and after awhile one longs for a home base somewhere. I wouldn’t recommend it in the US for sure since the high cost of airfare from here can limit where you want to travel. Some place in Europe or Asia would give you much more flexibility with future plans. Appreciate your showcasing street art in Georgia and giving us a look at your artistic talent! Eventually you’ll travel elsewhere, either alone or with your friends. Gracious of Natasha to offer you to stay in her apartment. Looking forward to your next video and remain blessed!

Great how you find new and interesting places in Tiblisi. While I drink a nice glass of Portugese organic wine, I can watch what incidents happened to you during the last weeks. But you always come out on top like in a Hollywood movie 😉 Invincible Dari, here she goes again...
Many of the banking stuff that happened is only possible in a lesser developed country. For example, if I receive a large amount on my bank account this is immediatly blocked until the bank has checked where it comes from and if it's not some money laundering operation. They also call me and possibly send documents I'll have to sign. Only afterwards and likely after several days can I use that money. If it looks just suspicious, the bank account will be completely blocked.
Graffiti can be artistic or just so-called tags used for example by gangs or groups to mark a place as the territory they control. Then there are some teenage boys who just behave like hooligans. I think artistic graffiti like the ones made by Banksy are art, and should be treated as such.

Hi again Dari. I'm not a artist, but I do like and appreciate art. I love murals. Freedom to express oneself. And therefore graffiti, although I don't like some of it personally, I consider it a form of freedom of speech. And, I feel, we are not to judge one another, unless we do something honorable, then we deserve praise. Thank You for the videos.. I enjoy learning of other countries. I live in the U.S.A. Michigan. Ciao.

There is "graffiti" and "graffiti". Here in the Canary Islands we have great graffiti that turns an ugly wall into a work of art but we also have stupid "tags" that mess up the environment. I prefer the "Natasha" graffiti option. I like the symbolism in the graffiti: very close to my house, there is a graffiti which represents a battalion of carrot soldiers who have caught a rabbit which is attached to a tree and he is very afraid! lol

Instead of waiting for the bill, maybe ask if you can pay when you order. It might save a long wait, and if something was wrong with the food, I'm sure they would rectify it, or give a refund. I often do this in the UK if I'm in a hurry.

Was watching CB Media and Chad is in Thailand. He gave a rundown of apartments in Bangkok Thailand. Average price for an average apartment is $135 a month. Small studio apartment or older 1 bedroom, around $100 a month. He doesn't cook because eating out is ridiculously cheap, a burger is $2, a beer is $3. He stated over half the people in Bangkok speaks English, when you go out to the county side only a few speak English. Warm all year, and gorgeous beaches. A little reminder, music over voice makes a bad video. Very distracting to the message and a lot of people wont watch to the end. The perfect format is Music into STOP, Talking message STOP, music outro. I have not subscribed to channels or left channels that are always difficult to watch.

Georgia is intensifying relationships to the European Union.
On the one hand Georgia is benefiting from Russian long-term visitors. On the other hand Georgia follows a pro-EU policy.
BTW, sending to or receiving cryptos from Russian citizens is now criminalized in most EU countries.
More repressive rules for Russians in the finance sector are also related to the great influence of the EU on Georgian economy and Georgian politics.
The street art in Tbilisi is really amazing.
Thanks Dari a lot for sharing this with us!

      That's a difficult situation.
      Georgia wants a peaceful co-existence.
Georgia benefits from trade relations to Russia, but there are also less appreciatable issues.
