In keeping with the theme of the car and money not being an issue for bulletproof. You should get the Mines super response kit, the forged pistons conrods and crankshaft are significantly lighter than stock (maybe 7-8kg from memory) and according to Niikura-san makes the car feel 500kg lighter. Couple that with a lightweight billet block and chrome moly subframes front and rear (this will be a huge saving as the r35 rear subframe is a beast). Carbon fibre every single shaft. Change everything that is cast to billet (that alone will keep you busy) and save you many kg's. All up there is 120kg easy.
I'd call it a healthy tune for the engine, it doesn't have to move so much weight anymore and you have a more reliable car that goes faster
yep a lighter load on the engine means the car goes alot faster expecially during acleration which is very relevent for day to day use and it become more reliable more reponsive it also improve the handling of the car not to mention the gas millage
Sick, cant imagine the price
probably 800-900million lmao
that's what I imagine when I think upgrade. lighten the car in every imaginable way
Change it into a hotrod
This is definitely one of the best looking R35 GTRs I've seen.
this thing needs to be in the next gran turismo
This is all about go and little about show - love it! This is how to treat a GTR. Respect.
Put that GTR in a Boat to Japan, let Dori Dori run it in Tsukuba and Filmed. Do it ! Do it ! Do it !
full racecar, first. strip the engine bay, gut the interior, no heat, ac, radio, etc. imagine what he could do with it then
i can see this car on Tokyo drift...looks badass all 2gether
close, run it on gunsai
well it drop 226kg i reckon a strip version of this wilt racing single seat no ac radio or trim probably will drop another 150 or 200kg so sub 1400 kg car
A true dichotomy; Flirting with it's new cornering limits can catastrophically destroy what expanded them. A dicey roll indeed. It is a beautiful piece of art though, form and function so elegantly executed.
Damn time sure flies fast huh its 2017 already
Still looks just as ugly today as it did back then as well!
It's been for about 5 months now.
SS OFFSHORE how does it look ugly?
Reminds me of a mordernised amuse carbon r
needs carbon headlights
It does say Amuse on the side.
Andrew Malkin Some components in the engine bay are from Amuse :-)
I've loved this car ever since it was on the cover of Super street. good to see Ben still has plans for the car :)
Love it! Its great to see making the car lighter instead of tons of power. Great setup.
i like it light weight has never been what this car is about nice to see someone taking that approach
Wow, that's one crazy gt-r
Yes, finally weight taken off... I love it
That's tight like to see more like this
wow, love it man
GT-R...my dream car!
BIG LOVE!!!!
sickest build of a car to date hands down, the fucking craftsmanship is next level.
Very interesting concept, the GTR was designed to carry more weight than the norm.
Would like to see the performance specs.
Bulletproof putting a more refined approach to everyday crazy, got to respect that.
I'm getting awesome R34 vibes from this kit
Impressive and fuel efficient, this thing would fly on the dragstrip. Oh! i forgot, it's a showcar.
Once I build my future dream carbon r35, nobody will know because it will be painted midnight purple 2! Nice work!
Amen
that engine bay 😍😍😍😍
what is that sound track in the background man just loved it great video sexy car
Great car, great job, great philosophy.... most god aweful music ever. How dare you Sir assault me with that.
gus bisbal such bad music
gus bisbal my vtec horse carriage can destroy you in a quarter mile
Yes please!
Always wanted a r35 gtr
Would love for you guys to put this up against the japan tuners! Especially the amuse r35 and mines
2 questions: How are the rear quarter & c pillar replacements implemented? Why choose the heavy (19 & 21 lb) Carbon Revolution wheels instead of a light carbon wheel (13/14 lb)?
Looks sooooo fucking good
I wish I could afford to do this to my Aristo (aka gs300).
amazing
Yo! What happened to all the Hot Version videos?
I remember the Mugen RR.
yes!
same here
I like their way of thinking ;)
Nice
So what are the specs now? I mean to what extent is the acceleration better for example?
Did u use prepreg carbon fiber or just the normal standard carbon fiber. Because if not u can loose another 30percent
A lap time around the Nurburgring to knock the NextEV Niro EP9 off top spot in the fastest lap times would fully justify these extensive modifications.
is the vr38 internals also carbon fiber?
So a 4.5 minute video and no total weight figure? Neat.
1:13.....
It’s right in the beginning bud
those carbon fiber wheels are worth a body each lol
Is that wing tunnel tested?
impressive but does it lose traction without the weight, and what are the numbers on a track?
they didn't put the wing without reason
The thing I wanna know is... is a twin-turbo setup heavier than a (larger) single-turbo setup though???
On a straight 6 engine maybe, but I doubt with all the plumbing on a V6 such as the GTR's that it'll amount to anything substantial. However a single turbo would also likely be laggy and not nearly as driveable or quick around a circuit.
*What is the curbweight of the car now?*
Intro music reminds me of Jim Carrey in The Cable Guy scene @ Medieval Times. "BLLLAHH BLAAAAH BLAAAAA"
so how much does it weight now??
can it beat the Fujiwara tofu 86 at akina?
Give it to smoking tire for a review
just realized they are located near my work at spacex.
Hi what's the song please ?
bhp?
still heavy as car but I like where this idea is headed.
I bet the cost is crazy and sick !!! This is real godzilla bad ass!!! How much for this?
so, good as GT3 spec car?
what's the soundtrack on the video? :P
interesting project....it so light the stickers weight more than the parts
Finall weight?
What hood is that?
how much money exactly are we talking about to do a full carbon GTR?
How much is this build?
0-60 please??
get this on the smoking tire
LIKE THAT SO MUCH I WANT THE SAME ;) !!!
How do you manage to not fly off the ground at high speeds since this car only weighs 500 pounds ?
finally a real weight reduction exercise on the GTR
needs color and wide body love me wide body and I've never seen a carbon fiber wide body kit
Can you get Matt Farah from The Smoking Tyre to drive this? :)
Strip out the whole interior, make it a one seater, throw away the ac, light weight windows. And dont stop making it lighter and lighter. Make that baby under 3000 Ibs
Dying to know how expensive the Carbon Fiber body cost
What's the song?????
Anyone know the name of that song?
Narkim Black darude sanstorm
How heavy is it now? And what's the power to weight ratio? What's the new 0-60 time? Where are my numbers?!?
Going by what he said that the car is about 400-500 lbs ligheter from a stock GT-R (which is around 3800 lbs dry) and assuming it's producing stock power (around 580 HP) then the power/weight is around 0.17
Lets collab and do some CF 3d printed parts =)
for a "perfectionist" that "cares about the details", the welds on the spoiler are atrocious.
Still my Lexus LFA great
I wish I could go full carbon on my Toyota Corolla S
How lighter is this
Depending on budget. Lighter but better engine internals would help since its a heavy ass engine
really want to know, how much money they put into the car
Mathias Sammer Carbon isn't expensive but fabricating custom body parts from scratch takes a lot of time and effort. Depending on alloy titanium can be costly but if you were to to order a titanium car part like a custom exhaust or intake, you'd pay mostly for the work which goes into making it. The work here was done by his own tuning company, Bulletproof Automotive, so it's hard to put a price tag on it.
For what's listed on the overtake website, it comes out to be around 85k USD before any sort of fees.
take that wing off too.
So this car weighs less than a 991 Turbo S but still it's heavier than a Huracan... What about the cost of all these mods?
this car weight 1550 kg compared to the stock 1760kg. not bad.
How bout prototyping a full carbon chassis under that carbon re-skin??? Bananas!!!
That's what I thought it had at first, when I read the title.
SilentDrifter i saw the build. it's bumpers, doors, hood, trunk and all the exterior skin. I'm sure doing the chassis will take hella long, but the market for it is wide open. Somebody has to do it first.
Kid Dupree yeah. I think cost would be the biggest problem, in trying to design it to withstand crashes and what not.
Yeah no one would do that as its probably easier to start from scratch (which when you do so, makes no sense to build something that is as large or heavy as a GTR).
Alan Bowers a truly carbon gtr would definitely be worth the inconvenience of going through the whole process of dismantling the chassis, making molds, reconstruction... etc. But, I agree. Nobody will do it.
Would have liked to see the CF body parts being made.
Would love to have some carbon wheels. They would cost more than my car, lol.
Bring the carbon panels to market. Every single one. Thank me later.
Not a bad way to spend 500k+ Not bad at all
the tyres should be made of carbon fiber too or it isnt light enough
THIS CAR IS A MONEY BURNER
imagine that thing at 3k lbs sheesh
so how much for that wrap 😂
Did anyone else think from the title that the car was actually "Bulletproof" ? 😂👀
Carbon parts is sport, not luxurious.
Raul Visnitchi interior parts made of carbon fiber that do not "add lightness" or structural rigidity are put there for the look of it, that's why they are a luxurious feature and not a sporty one.
Carbon parts always "add lightness" and structural rigidity. And luxurious parts are made of metal and wood for example. Heavier, not for structural rigidity, just for looks. Yea, carbon parts look good too, but they are very light and strong, so they are more sport than luxurious. Take Rolls Royce interior for example! Very luxurious. Did you see carbon parts? I didn't. Metal and wood.
Raul Visnitchi yeah, I think this is more about your personal beliefs about engineering that are not planted in reality, so this discussion ends here.
Raul Visnitchi you miss the concept. What he meant with luxury was they didn't remove the A/C system which tuners usually do to their R35s but instead they converted a lot of hard materials into a carbon fiber so it would be light as well as enjoy the amenities of the luxury car like this
At last, someone that thinks like me.
Matt Farrah where are you
Mathia Bergeron keep this idiot as far away as possible from this machine
