Join me for a (partially) solo backpacking trip in the Indian Peaks just outside of Denver, Colorado. We started on the Hessie Trailhead, and headed into the Devil's Thumb Backcountry Zone. We went as far as Jasper Lake, then after Ryan and I split up, I headed into the Neva Backcountry Zone. I spent the night before heading to Diamond Lake. I found Upper Diamond Lake on a trail as well. After that, I hiked out to the Fourth of July Trailhead and headed out.

The hike was a blast! Glad I was able to join you for the initial climb.
10/10 profile pic
There's something about a Robby solo hike that makes for such a great watch. Epic views and beautifully shot as always Robby. 👍🎥
I prefer his solo treks to anything else on this channel!!
And Jason! He makes the music!
Yes, he got skills!
Yessss!
AA is overwhelmingly underrated, especially with such high quality content and editing. Indeed the best channel ever created.
Love all of Adventure Archives videos the beautiful scenery depicted is fantastic. This 74 year old woman is not healthy enough to hike the trails any more. Thank you all for bringing me such happiness. I enjoy all I learn from Andrew.
Hey! Thanks for the shoutout!
Been watching your videos for years now and it's surreal to see my brother taking part in one. Beautifully shot and edited, as usual. Keep doing your thing, y'all.

Livestream video game sesh?
YOu know the food is good when Robbie starts slapping his leg! LOL
HAA HAA. Truth !
Best cinematography out of all the outdoor channels
The backcountry fedora
There has never been a more legit "Yo Bear" situation than when crossing those shrubs to your campsite. That whole area, even the campsite, looks perfect for bears haha Colorado is so great, shocked this is the first video from there. Give Montana a trip as well. Big Sky Country is so worth it.
You make me awed and so appreciative of the Earth. I am growing in how I can better respect the gift of Earth. Thank you.
Oh my god, this is exactly where my first backpacking trip was! I shouted when I saw the name of the trailhead. Long story short: I made about every mistake in the book and had a miserable time, but so glad I went. Also from the Midwest and had a hard time adjusting to the elevation. I’ll never forget this trip, and it made me decide to move out west.
New to channel here. I'm binge watching now. Just watched one from 2 yrs ago. You guys are fun. Love your choice of travel's. I have grandsons about your ages and you remind me of them. They're in college and busy so i don't see them much. Keep on doing your thing cause we love it!
Ryan is a cool addition. Great job
"altituuude. whyyyy." - lol, my new motto.
Had me laughing too.
"Thr hills are alive with the sound of Robby!" God love ya son! Thats why some of us live through you and your fam! We take the pretty pics and you exert yourself!
Really like the music on this one.
The adventure archive guys are very enthusiastic young men. I like how they take on the toughest climbs and don't swear about it, lol.
We have bad air quality from smoke too. It's from the forest fires in California and Idaho for the most part. Beautiful there in spite of the smoke.
I like the comment, imagine being the first person here, but there have been 10,000 people here....I never think that way, if anything I am reminded and disappointed that others have been to where I have walked. I like imagining that I am the first person to find the area, walk the area, and be mesmerized by the area, then be disabused of the feeling when 5 minutes later 20 people hike through and pleasantries are exchanged lol.
Just had to tell you...man you knocked it out of the park on the visuals. Thanks for this ride along the way.
Such a beautiful place! It's videos like this that inspire me to get outside and enjoy the day! Thank you 😊
Our go to hiking snack is also fancy cheese and meat. Usually with unfancy pickles haha
Wow! Two hot hikers! I watched this one several times!!
Beautiful country, thank you for the video!
Love the Robbie solos
Stunning, it's a hard call, but this forestry area might be my favorite.
Loved seeing Colorado through your eyes.
Colorado is BY FAR our favorite place to hike/backpack, and BY FAR the most beautiful place I’ve been! So many Amazing Trails out there! I’m so glad you enjoyed it and can’t wait to see all of you guys out there!
The music on this video is awesome! Especially with my stereo speakers on. Wow.
I did this almost same route about 20 years ago!! Awesome. Cheers from Pendleton, IN.!
What a solo hike for Robby! I would take a dip & enjoy the adventure.
Going solo is the ultimate adventure!
Love me a Robbie solo video, and in my state! So excited for the whole crew to come back one day!
We love Colorado so so much. We visit every summer. For flatlanders (we live below 1,500 ft) we also feel the elevation - it’s no joke. Stay hydrated and force yourself to eat, even when you don’t want to. Keep hiking and creating! 🤙🏼
You are an excellent hiker with very positive attitude but I know your body just like rejects "altitude" :). I am happy that your guide came and I am sure it was an honour for him. A very cool guy, Ryan...Awesome music
Robby walking through the alpine meadow in his hiking fedora reminds me of Captain Von Trapp escaping through the Alps in the Sound of Music. The hills are alive, with the sound of Robby! Love the hike!!
Bravo, Robby! Excellent. Please consider adding the month and year your trips were filmed. Thanks. Can't wait for the next adventure!
Wish this was longer. Oh well. AND, we never had the chance to see Robby eat! He always makes the food look so delish.
Missed this video somehow but glad i checked through your video lists haha, I have to say the music was really lovely in this one!
PERFECT
A whole new Vista opens up to adventure archives.... As they explore the West Coast. They can make Ohio seem like the most interesting place on the Earth... Imagine how good their videos will continue to become...
WOW! What a place! Can’t wait to see the whole gang do this!
Sorry about the smoke when you were out here… Indian peaks wilderness is cool because it’s close to Denver. There are some really beautiful places to hike and backpack. Weminuche wilderness, Holy Cross, flat tops wilderness areas are beautiful. Come back soon! Enjoy😎
So glad you came to Colorado! My family loves 💕 hiking the rocky mountains. ☺️ Would love to see you guys hike pikes peak! Can't wait to see more. Glad you enjoyed it.
Every video you guyz upload is so relaxing and refreshing. Watching this while sitting at the park and it felt so amazingly beautiful. Thank you for every uploads🥰❤
Beautiful cinematography, as usual, and great sounds!
Another epic hike in the books, great video content.
What a place! The rocky mountains are definitely on my bucket list! Great job capturing its beauty
Diamond lake, absolutely gorgeous!
Awesome video! Love this part of the US! Those high mountain lakes and views are just breathtaking! Love the way you shoot your videos! Beautiful as always!
I just came to the United States hoping to meet some friends, and I just saw you. So ....
Breathtaking mountains 🏔, beautiful lakes, cascading waterfalls and Robby back on the trail = GREAT HIKING ADVENTURE. 😎🏕🌲 Bring AA & do it again for a longer trip. 👏🏻
I lived in Colorado for a year .it’s a beautiful place,a lot to explore.
Amazing episode Robby! The slow motion water shots are so mesmerizing. I really enjoyed the “Yo snake, yo marmot, yo bear”! 😂 Looking forward to when the whole AA crew can make that trip! 🌟
Beautiful country, awesome hike to undertake. Colorado never disappoints
Oof, that smoke man. I'm so glad fall is here to get rid of the smoke and fires, it's been rough out west.
On a more positive note: great video, it was very beautiful. I can't wait to make some trips out to Colorado!
Super excited to head back to Denver at the end of this month! That’s awesome you were able to meet up with a subscriber for a hike though
Music pick is great!
I just came to the United States hoping to meet some friends, and I just saw you. So ....
I am a native of Colorado, ( The Western Slope ), and I love my state. Yes, it is BEAUTIFUL, and BRUTAL. Thanks for taking us along.
I love a solo hike.
Love the Jazzy music
I can see Robby dancing to the music in this episode.
I feel like the colors seem way richer this time! maybe its just all that good good haze...lol. Great video!
Awesome video. Even though I’ve lived in Colorado the last 20 years-yes-the elevation still bites. (But in my defense I’m originally from Hawaii). Still, I’m a hiking addict and was tickled to see you in our state. Come back soon please and do more. I’m always thoroughly entertained and awed at your adventures.
Music is on point in this one!
Yes, Colorado and the Rockies are absolutely breathetaking. I got to drive through them at night before and the only other place I've seen stars like that is out on the ocean.
Just found this channel and its safe to say.. I'm bingeing Great content
That landscape resembled the Alps in Italy/Switzerland/Austria pretty much... beautiful.
Seeing Robbie wearing that hat this video and others has inspired me to pull the trigger on a similar hat for my outdoor excursions
Epic views., thank you Robbie.
I know an Indian RUclipsr who hikes northern Indian, Ladakh. And he carries a small pressure cooker. He does a good job capturing the daily life of the people in the region. India in Motion is the name of his channel.
So glad to see this video. As usual a great job on the videography with stunning shots that those of us who aren't able to hike can enjoy. Thank you Robby for taking us alolng on your trek.
gets close to 16 feet of snow in the rocky mountain national park, that is sallota snow, great for summer (your wearing a coat hence it is cold in the summer) it is pretty, like the flowers and geology. I will have to look up altitude sickness did not know something like this existed.
Beautiful place.
This is wonderful tour. I would love to visit this place for my Walking VLOgs.
Emma from London
Wow, what a landscape. Thanks for taking us along with you.
So incredibly breath taking! So many beautiful places in the USA!
That guy Ryan was a cool guest. It would be nice if you guys would invite a group of people on your hike. I've never been hiking, but it would be a good intro with you guys.
The music is so nice!!
Somehow I missed this one, so I'm really enjoying this. Nice job as always Rob! I've been to Rocky Mountain more than a few times (30 years ago) but never hiked in the back country, so this video was a real treat. THANK YOU for all your efforts!!!!
That's a cool hat.
Just stunning, fantastic video.
You will love the Cascades.
The solo Robbie hikes stay goated.
Excellent hike. It is good to see you back in the forested mountains again.
The energy of roby it's diferent i like thissolo videos
Thank you for taking us along on an amazing hike!
what i do not understand is how people can be so bitter to go and dislike this video.. robby solo adventures are the best
Uniformly excelllent composition on the tripod placements
Cool video, looks like a fun hike. Always enjoy seeing people getting out into nature.
i need to hike and camp colorado.. lookin like a hiker's paradise!
I was just in Colorado last weekend hiking the trail around Aspen and Colorado National Monument. Beautiful colors.
This hike is a reminder to all the younger folks- if hikes like this are your dreams- find a way! Don’t wait until you’ve worked 45 years waiting for “someday “
wow! This was spectacular! So different from all the other places you have hiked. Much more open for the most part.
Looks beautiful, another level beautiful, what a journey, thanks for bring us along for the hike!!!
I'm planning a trip to Diamond and Jasper Lakes this weekend - how serendipitous to see this video today. I'm so impressed by the lack of gasping that usually comes with a trip to Colorado - I know you said it was tough, but you did great! Especially with that smoke. Yikes!
Thanks, Robbie! I needed some AA therapy today! Colorado is lovely. My mom took us every year when we were kids. Estes Park, Rocky Mountain National Park! The place is like a 2nd home to me!
I just came to the United States hoping to meet some friends, and I just saw you. So ....
@@Linda-dh4cd so, I only befriend people I actually know personally.
Awesome dude! I will be going out to Colorado 3-4 times for condition/endurance training in Garden of the Gods area for like 2 days per trip. This is to prepare myself for my upcoming trip of 5 days to Glacier in July 2025. I live in Wichita KS so it is only 8 hr drive for me to get to Colorado Springs. Love the vids. Give a high 5 to your partners in crime, that normally are with you. Peace!✌️
Most excellent!
Nice! I've done the Hessey trail a few times. The campsite at the west end of Jasper is absolutely amazing, and devils thumb lake is probably my favorite place in the world!
Always enjoy your videos! Colorado is on my list and now that my daughter lives there I have even more reason to head down that way!
You have to come back and do some section hikes on the CT. I did sections 1-8 last year. The views between Kenosha and copper mountain are epic, and plenty of places to overnight for a 1-2 nighter backpacking trip
