Yes! I'm pretty sure his 25 mile hike was more like 35 by time he doubled back so much to get all those shots. At the end of day one when he said he'd only gone about 1.5 miles, I didn't think he'd ever make it in 3 days :) But great final product!
@@Aloha_Alan I think he may have had a drone that he made static, and then he could just shoot it back to himself, cuz he took those sky shots at the top of the mountain so perhaps having a drone spared him from the switchbacks to get the camera? Id ask but doubt he would have time to even see the question.
Rafting in WV class 5+ he needs to experience the Gauley or New River. I love West Virginia especially with the current situation.... Fresh air empty spaces just trees and sky

6:12 That is part of a farm wall, very common to find on WV trails. Settlers would build stone walls to build up/level out sections to increase pasture size for their cattle and after decades of abandonment the forest has reclaimed the pastures but the walls still remain.

Not the big whining deal he pretends. Additionally, a 26 mile hike does not NEED supplies if you started hydrated.

You all need to hike these hikes: 1. Petersburg, Wv North Fork Mountain trail and see Chimney Top. Then continue on. The rock formations are unique to the area. North Fork mountain trail is about 20+ miles long. 2. Dolly Sods to Lions head. Great campsites, unique formations. 3. High Falls South Southeast of Elkins. 8 miles out and back. You could connect it with parts of the Allegheny Trail. Great campsites, 3 waterfalls
I live in Grant county off Jordan Run Rd across from Dolly Sods, work at the lumber mill in Petersburg. North Fork Mountain trail is my favorite. The Smoke Hole area is awesome. Love Dolly Sods too. Black Water Falls State Park has some good hikes too. Seneca Rocks is nice too, but crowded. This whole area is blessed!
North fork mountain trail is incredible during peak fall foliage. Love Seneca Creek/Judy Spring as well. Last time I was in WV (live in MD) I ran three hill repeats on Seneca Rocks, ran a loop up Redman Run Trail then back down north Fork and ran an out and back on Seneca creek down to judy springs and all the way down /up I think Horton Trail, slept in the car then ran from Judy Spring trailhead up Huckleberry to Spruce knob and back to the parking lot then drove 3 hours back home... think I ran 50ish miles in 2 days
too many folks with go pro's trying to make a living off the AT already....nights at the shelters feels like a press conference....long gone is any feel of being in the mountains, for the sake of being in the mountains, now your just some random guy in somebody's vlog....spent 20 minutes in the Smokies listening to so called hikers work out a schedule of who gets to film their vlog next...my 2 cents
Dude, years of vlogs have prepared you for these solo hikes. You have to be the most comfortable hiker on youtube (in terms of not being camera shy). Expertly filmed and edited. That water crisis did give me slight panic though. Yikes, may you never have to deal with it again.
Then I don't think you have come across sintax77 or frozen or shug for that matter and then there is homemade wanderlust or Dixie on the trail which is the same person

The rock wall at 6:15 is where old farmers cleared the woods for a field and piled up the rocks to get them out of the way. Sometimes they are in large piles or in a wall-like structure. Have them all over my farm in WV.

You bring back memories of so many hikes: a hot and dry first day when we had carried as much water as possible but were rationing sips as it got dark. We rounded a corner, and my friend yelled SNOW! I thought he was delirious, but there in late July was a snowbank with a pool of meltwater at its base. Robby, keep hiking, and keep the amazing videos coming.

Defiantly empathized with the uphill exhausted & out of breath feeling & wanting to stop despite it not being an option.

I think you guys should consider doing the Presidential Traverse hike in New Hampshire. It's 21ish miles long and has a bunch of peaks along an alpine ridge.
Literally the entire intro is where I live and ride around all the time lol. Mount Storm, Gormania, Petersburg... Glad to see it man hope it was a worthy adventure

"The people you help don't need to have the same challenges as you did" Loved that, as well as the huge innuendo right after, lol. The part where you couldn't find water however made me quite anxious - I've been in that situation, it's the worst. Oh, and take some insect repellent with 40% or more of DEET with you next time! It will keep those nasty musquitos away.

So essentially you walk may be around 1.5 times may be even more of the actual trail length because you have set the camera up front, then walk back and walk towards the camera again for the video. I respect all the hardwork you are doing bring us this video.

You should look into Kraig Adams also. He makes beautifully edited videos with some jaw-dropping shots of scenery.

So essentially you walk may be around 1.5 times may be even more of the actual trail length because you have set the camera up front, then walk back and walk towards the camera again for the video. I respect all the hardwork you are doing bring us this video.

Also gotta say the ending had me laughing so much, first you just pouring the whole bag of parmesan onto your food 😂 That's so something I could've done, I was asked at a restaurant once if I wanted parmesan on my pasta and I of course said yes, well I didn't know I was supposed to say stop so the poor dude just kept grating a mountain of cheese, it was delicious tho don't get me wrong, when he asked my friend she just replied "yes but not as much as her" 😂
