Bench video drops on Friday! ForceUSA.com/gymcrafter auto populates a 5% discount on top of their BF sale, which is a free air bike. You'll see that at checkout. Good additional notes from viewers: -@richindagarage owns one and noted that the bar pad with his is much longer, so the one in the video may not be what ships with the unit anymore. -Another viewer pointed out that the weight ration on a 45 degree leg press is al little over 70%, not 50% as I said in this video. After checking some things in the garage, he is spot on!
11:47 - The effective resistance of a 45 degree leg press is actually around 71% (sin 45 degrees = .707), not 50%. You might be thinking of the value for the various compact leg sleds that are on a 30 degree incline (sin 30 degrees = .5)
Thank you! I added that to the pinned comment. Last time I try to figure something like that out by counting on my fingers and consulting Reddit! And yeah, as I edited the video I realized the 500 lbs on my leg press sure felt like a lot more than 225. I appreciate the math wizardry!
Great video Tim! So much better than other videos that just talks about the specs from the website! I've been patiently waiting for this review, and you didn't disappoint! The C10 is everything I've been looking for... and more. But being realistic about what I need, I'm too old to be slogging big weights around, so I don't really need the power rack and I just want something that looks more refined (for the finished indoor space that I would have it in) and solid, so I picked up a Inspire FT2 PRO, and boy am I happy with it! Built like a tank and buttery smooth. The cable driven smith takes some getting used to. I don't think I would've been disappointed with the C10 either, but the 2 month wait pushed me to the Inspire. You should review that unit!
Great review. I ended up buying one for my accessory work (already have a 3x3 6 post). To have the low row, lat pull-down, ft trolleys, and smith in a compact foot print was a no-brainer. The base bench with ext/curl capability was a major win too (already have a bodycraft hack/press). Just a note, the bar pad that it ships with is much longer than the one they had set up in your video it’s about 2/3 coverage on the bar. Keep up the great work, love the honest reviews.
Good note, and thanks for letting me know! That tiny pad was way too small. And thanks for pointing out a reason you may not need the full sliding bench. in the bench review, I say I don't see why you'd only buy the base bench and you just addressed that!
Great work, as always. it's really a pleasure to hear your reviews. I have just one thing to say about the C10, not a criticism but just my opinion, but people might have to consider that before buying: when you say that there can be 3 people at the same time, one on each trolley and another on the smith, this is only possible if the trolleys are in the low position, because otherwise it is not possible to use the smith with the trolleys in a high or medium positions cause the security back of the trolleys don't let the bar move. And it's also a bit of a pain in the rear every time you want to do pulldowns you need to move both trolleys down, then set the bar, put some weights on it to secure, then the bench.. It's a lot of steps. Hope they change it in the future with some C10 V2 or another new reference, cause overall it's an amazing piece of equipment.
Depending on sales of this first unit, they did mention plans to release some other versions in the future. Hopefully they'll address some of the things you pointed out, thanks for the comment!
This review is by far the best I’ve seen. I’ve of a revolution fitness R5 (a copy of the old force USA G12) and frankly I am considering taking out the smith machine counter balance. Personal preference. I also agree that if you just want a power rack, get a power rack. I’ve got both no regrets but the all in one I have would still do the trick if I didn’t have the rack.
This is a nice bit of kit. I would have considered it if it was just a couple of inches shorter but I don’t have the ceiling height so I’ve gone for the rep ares 2.0 80 inch
Price is better than i expected for a ForceUsa product - it is a good offering. I do think however tbe sliding bench is pretty pricy so the total would be quite high. I am also surprised they sell the dip attachments separately as those are standard woth most all in ones.
Bench is worth every penny. Video posts on Friday. If it was just an adjustable bench, I'd agree, but it adds 6 major functions to the rack. If you were to buy separate machines for all 6, you'd spend thousands more and need a lot more room in your gym
It's totally worth adding the sliding bench. The vertical leg press, for me, was almost unusable, I didn't like it at all. When you consider the sliding bench adds cable preacher curls, leg curls, leg extensions, leg press, hack squat, and chest supported rows, it's for sure an addition worth serious consideration!
could you do a review on Jacked Up's EXTREME 1:1 All-In-One Functional Trainer, would love to see a comparision between that once and Force USA'S functional trainers!! Thanks!
I won't be reviewing Jacked Up at all. It's complete garbage and one of the brands that buys directly off of AliBaba (you can actually find all of their models under different names on that site). "Jacked Up" was an orthopedic shoe company before they pivoted to importing fitness stuff during the pandemic. They also are very misleading in their advertising. They say "made with 11 gauge steel" while standing in front of an upright, when the upright is 14 gauge and the 11 gauge is one of the brackets at the bottom of the rack. I looked at one of their units in person and knew almost immediately it wasn't worth anyone's time or money. Sorry to sound so harsh, but they are yet one more company who spends all of their money on slick marketing and none of it on the product or customer service.
@GymCrafter thanks for the insightful review! In regards to the placement of the Smith Machine Bar, I'm worried there will not be enough room when using the pull-up bar for things like pull-ups, kipping toes to bar, etc. Have you tested this out? This is this literally the only thing holding me back from buying this and I haven't gotten any response from the company yet so I am a bit worried. Thanks!
I don't do kipping anything, so take this answer for what it's worth... Strict pull ups are no problem. Toes to bar facing out from the machine, also no problem if you put the Smith bar all the way up, or even all the way down (if you are on the shorter side). Outside of that, I think it depends on how much undulation you get in your body and if there's a place to put the bar that doesn't get in the way. As a trainer, I'll stick my nose where it doesn't belong and say that kipping exercises aren't the best and tend to be injury causing over time. So if you don't have to do them to prepare for some type of competition, finding an alternative exercise would be the ideal solution. I wouldn't pass on this unit for that one group of exercises unless they are your primary focus in training. Hope that helps!
@@GymCrafter Appreciate the feedback my friend...definitely SUPER helpful. While I don't do a ton of kipping movements, I just love Toes to Bar and nothing fires up my lats like them! Thinking I will order it. Thanks again!
I don't. It would be a true DIY thing. My first instinct would be to not install the shroud, but I hesitate to recommend that as I didn't look close enough to see if that's possible without screwing something else up.
Am I understanding correctly that each of the two cable endpoints at the top (for pulldowns) and at the bottom (for low rows) is 1:1? Meaning that you can go up to 440lbs, *however* the smallest weight increment is going to be 20lbs? Unless you just use single cable which I guess might be ok for pulldowns with a two handed attachment since you could offset whatever you’re sitting on, but for low rows using the foot plates it seems like it wouldn’t line up very well.
For the low row, each individual cable is 1:1 with the stack it's attached to. For the lat pulldown, each individual cable is 2:1 for its stack. Total possible weight on the low row is 440 while the total possible feel weight for the lat is 220. For the low row, while the starting weight minimum would be 20 lbs, you don't have to go in 20 lb increments, you could just move one pin at a time.
I have a life fitness functional trainer with nylon pulleys. It is super smooth. I’m sure there’s truth to aluminum pulleys being smoother, I’ve never felt any pulleys smoother than the ones on my my machine.
Thanks for posting this! I think certain other YT channels have convinced people that aluminum pulleys are the only way to go. they are def not. Life Fitness stuff is made to take a beating and last forever. It says a lot that they aren't even considering using anything but nylon pulleys.
@ fyi, just yesterday (dec 1st) I visited the Johnson fitness store in Naperville to test the Force USA lineup. I mentioned you and they said you had filmed a video there..
Thank you for your videos. I was going to buy the G15 pro because I am a small woman and the 4:1 ratio is very interesting for small muscle groups but the C10 is very interesting for the legs. What do you think? Thank you
If you want to go in really small steps for the functional trainer, the 4:1 would be useful, but a great workaround on the C10 is to get some small increment adder weights you can use on the stacks to go in smaller steps. With the sliding bench, the C10 is a much more versatile unit in my opinion.
Hi how would you compare doing the hack squat and leg press using the sliding bench to commercial hack squat leg press and forceusa own hack squat!/leg press? Thank you!
It doesn't compare. It's a solution piece for those that don't have room for additional machines or don't have the budget. Check out the bench video I post tomorrow, I walk through all that in detail.
Great in depth look Tim! On the lat pulldown can you connect the 2 cables with a third carabiner and not have the extra length? I'm a tall guy too and would like to use a narrow grip attachment. Would that allow full rom?
great video! ive ordered mine awhile back and waiting to install it in my home. i picked this over 3x3 standard rack due to wanting to have more options to do cable work (pushdowns , facepulls ,lat raises and cable crossover hits different ) and also train family/friends on rehab work. And if you trained legs at home you know how hard it is to do isolation work such as leg extention and curls without dedicated machine for it. The leg press is an added bonus too for days my back is killing me . But i am concerned about your comments on the power / half rack portion of the AIO. I do alot of barbell work and can squat relatively heavy ( maybe not world record level) but at least around 3-4 plates squat (160kg ++) and 2+ plates bench (130kg++) . I saw online the rating is around 700+ pounds but would like your opinion on the durability of training on the heavier side! Also how good are the spotter arms for rack pulls? I worry it may damage the uprights hole and maybe bend/deform it
The hooks and arms will hold that much, but I don't know about rack pulls if you are dropping the weight back down. I train primarily with a barbell and at much lighter weights than you do and would not want this as my main rack. Not so much because of durability, but simply being cramped, always having to work around the Smith bar, and while the jcups and arms are solid, the ones I use on standard racks are much better. Also, keep in mind that those weight capacities are static, not dropped. You may be better off with something that starts its life as a3x3 11 gauge rack and adds the cables and Smith instead of an all in one.
Thank you for the review. How would you compare the hack squat and leg press on the silding bench to the commercial gyms or even forceusa hack squat leg press machine?
@@andregoh8843 It doesn't compare. It's a solution piece for those that don't have room for additional machines or don't have the budget. Check out the bench video I post tomorrow, I walk through all that in detail.
Oh wow, this looks nice. I was saving up for a G12 to buy next year, but now I'll have to decide between that one and this one. Have you gotten to use both? If so, what are your thoughts?
This one is a lot more versatile than the G12. I like the G12 a lot because of the 1:1 stacks, but this does that and much more, especially when you add the sliding bench (review drops tomorrow!)
@GymCrafter Oh awesome, thanks so much! Can't wait for the sliding bench vid, as I was pondering whether to get that or skip it and use my own (sacrificing the leg stuff, as I already have a hack squat and leg extension/curl, albeit plate loaded). We are upgrading from a G3, which has served us well for years, but we are excited to not have to swap plates as much.
You might want to wait for the new version of the G6, I bet it will be released soon. The C10 has has a few flaws that you might need to consider before buying. I wrote about it here in the comments.
Thank you for your reviews! I have the C-10 with the sliding bench. I’ve asked Force customer service, and even Stevie Richards. How can I add fractional weights to the weight stack?I had to remove the weight stack covers and make a gym pin to add 2 1/2 or 3 lbs. Please ask the engineers - is there a another way to add fractional weight to the weight stacks. Thank you very much.
I think that's a big miss in all cable stacks. Lots of options on how to add lots of weight to the stack, but no one addressing making smaller steps. You are def not the first person to ask them for that.
Thankyou again for all of your hard work on these very informative reviews. Do you by chance know the distance between the smith bar and the floor? I’m 6’2” and wondering if I would have to duck at all when walking in/out of the rack or if I would clear it.
I'm 6'2" and I can clear the smith bar without ducking when walking under it at the smith bars highest position. I really like it. Fyi, It does not come with the exercise charts on the weight covers as this review shows.
Sure do. Atlas is in Canada, Force USA is the US. Both use the same factory in China. Both have their units built to their custom specs and design. Not surprised to see some crossover there.
@GymCrafter Thank you. Still, the center lat pull-down and cable row makes the force USA C-10 more compelling and unique to the unit. BTW, i kept waiting for additional details on the smith bar machine; like thickness of the bar, weight, was the smith stable or flimsy, etc... This was a very good review. I'm a subscriber. 😊
@@AC-re3lp THanks! The Smith bar is okay. It's a common nitpick for me on almost every all in one trainer. THey really need to find a way to let you use your own bar. As far as stability, the Smith is great. REally smooth and very well made. The bar has okay knurled and is probably 30-33mm diameter? It's a 33 lb bar if I remember correctly. And I agree, the center mount 1:2 low row and center mount lat pulldown are really great features!
Does the c10 review end with this and a bench review? I saw your review so well and it helped me with my purchase decision in Korea. Thank you. The sited row is very groundbreaking. Excuse me, but how tall are you?
Just a heads up, but according to Force USA customer support, the C10 has 11 gauge steel uprights, not 14 gauge. They must have told you differently? Loved the review overall though. It's a cool piece of equipment
I'm 95% sure it's 14 gauge because it's not called a "pro". their "pro" line is all 11 gauge. I've reached out to Force for clarification and will post back, though. If it is 11 gauge, I'll put that in a pinned comment. If not, I'll let you know here.
I did, it was one of my favorite pieces there. I shot a very short review that will post eventually. Basically, the big guys there who lifted a good amount of weight all had the X15. The guys who had wives and kids and didn't lift a ton of weight all had other units. If you want to do a good amount of barbell work and don't need a Smith, the X15 is really awesome. Very well built and a solid choice.
Force USA would be my go to recommendation. They aren't the most expensive at all (The Inspire - I think they are called Center now - FT series is the industry standard). If you don't need the Smith machine, the Fringe Sport Dane is one of the best values in garage gym gear right now. If you need to bring the price way down, the RitFit M1 v2 is the way to go. Not nearly as nice or high quality as the Force USA, but will certainly get the best job done at that price level.
Force USA is a Great company. They just don't do it for me though because I'm not a smith machine guy and it just looks like there is so much going on in the small space of the units, maybe it's the shrouds that make it look like that, I don't know. I believe they make 1 unit without a smith machine but it's just not for me. I can't get over the crowded, clutered look of them. I stilk think Firce USA puts out some quality stuff but their prices are a little steep for me. If I needed an all in one, I'd go for REP rack with the Ares 2.0 or the Fringesport Dane. The Dane in Clear Coat/Clear Grind is super Sharp to me. Only a half rack but that's what I need due to limited space in my gym. Take Care
I totally agree. It would make a great second rack, but I honestly don't want anything extra in my rack at all. Even the Ares is too much for me. I don't want to work around Smith bars and cables, etc. I just bought a single stack cable set up and can't wait to put it together. My new rack will just be a rack, nothing added on at all other than jammer arms (which the company was nice enough to include... I don't think I'd ever buy those on my own).
@@GymCrafter Yeah, Absolutely, I'm with you The best set up is a rack with a stand alone functional trainer but no way I can get that in my gym. Matter of fact my gym only has room for an all in one rack and one more machine so I added a Leg Extension/ Leg Curl machine, so I can work every muscle on the body. I dont like squats anymore and the Leg Extension/Curl machine works my Quads & Hamstrings Great. Also have fixed dumbbells up to 50 lbs but I am gonna buy the Reppins. I was not gonna buy an adjustable dumbbell until they got the quality, functionality, and size to satisfy me and the Reppins are the only ones I've seen good enough for me to spend my money on. Take Care Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
@@jimderose7703 Yes. Not a lot, but yeah. I don't know of any racks other than the tallest Roque Monster racks where I can do a full hanging pull up without bending my knees at all.
Sir I am going to be the only one using the c10 should the cables last a long time and I know you said it is plenty solid even though it is 14 gauge thanks I am 67 years young
Thanks! And no, but I wish it was. i think all Smith machines should allow you to use your own bar and have it be easily removable. There's really no reason they all can't be that way!
100% agree. This should be around $3k to be somewhat competitive and still allow Forceusa to make a lot of money. They’re pricing it like Hoist, Inspire and other dealer models do which are similarly overpriced but assume 25-30% off to dealers who handle most end user sales

@@GymCrafter thanks for the reply and honest prespective!
@@cearanoir You're gonna LOVE not having to load those plates!!!
Awesome thankyou!
87" to the top edge of the bar.
With regard to the Trolley Arms, Atlas Strength Smith machine uses the same one, so they're not unique to the force USA C-10.
Sure do. Atlas is in Canada, Force USA is the US. Both use the same factory in China. Both have their units built to their custom specs and design. Not surprised to see some crossover there.
@GymCrafter Thank you.
I'm 6'6". I posted a bench video separately.
C10 life
😁😁😁I did a thing before Coop and Gluck!!!🤣
Just a heads up, but according to Force USA customer support, the C10 has 11 gauge steel uprights, not 14 gauge. They must have told you differently? Loved the review overall though. It's a cool piece of equipment
I'm 95% sure it's 14 gauge because it's not called a "pro". their "pro" line is all 11 gauge. I've reached out to Force for clarification and will post back, though. If it is 11 gauge, I'll put that in a pinned comment. If not, I'll let you know here.
I also reached out to force USA originally they told me it was 11 gauge steel then emailed me back
And told me it is 14 gauge very solid
Yep, for sure 14 gauge. If/when they come out with a C10 "Pro", that will be 11 gauge.
@@GymCrafter thanks for double checking. It's annoying that their own customer support team didn't know the proper specs.
@@ChrisZink-c9h 100% agree
@gymcrafter can we get this compared to Maxum SX2 home gym?
Unfortunately, I've never heard of them before so can't give any educated answer on that question.
Did you have a chance to try out the X15 pro? Debating between that and the C10. Thanks!
I’ve been shopping for an all in one functional trainer. What’s your top recommendation for quality + value?
@@GymCrafter
Yeah, Absolutely, I'm with you
The best set up is a rack with a stand alone functional trainer but no way I can get that in my gym.
Take Care
Happy Thanksgiving!!!!
@@bobbyhunt3009 hope you had a great turkey day! And enjoy those reppins, they just aren't in the budget for me right now.
Sir sir being 6ft 6 do you have any issues doing pullups
Gotta bend my knees, but no issues.
I am 6”3 do you think I will have to
Bend my knees
@@jimderose7703 Yes. Not a lot, but yeah. I don't know of any racks other than the tallest Roque Monster racks where I can do a full hanging pull up without bending my knees at all.
Sir I am going to be the only one using the c10 should the cables last a long time and I know you said it is plenty solid even though it is 14 gauge thanks I am 67 years young
@@jimderose7703 Yes, this unit is well built, the cables are rated to 2000 lbs and very durable, and all should work well for you!
Great review! Is the Smith machine bar removable by chance?
Thanks! And no, but I wish it was. i think all Smith machines should allow you to use your own bar and have it be easily removable. There's really no reason they all can't be that way!
Intro is a psychedelic trip.
You can pick from a bunch, I kind of liked that one. And yeah, a bit trippy for sure!
Surprised me but I liked it
Way over priced
Compared to???
@GymCrafter any of them...
Like they are not paying u
It for what you get
100% agree. This should be around $3k to be somewhat competitive and still allow Forceusa to make a lot of money. They’re pricing it like Hoist, Inspire and other dealer models do which are similarly overpriced but assume 25-30% off to dealers who handle most end user sales
Yeah right 😂 actual quality home gyms cost money dude
