Mastodon is a truly incredible band, I think you guys will really like The Last Baron. Fallen Torches, Oblivion, Divinations, Ember City, Aqua Dementia, The Czar, the list could go on and on. You guys will love this band!

The video was filmed in Sicily, Italy. The labyrinth featured is called 'Cretto di Burri', and the maze of pathways through the concrete slab precisely corresponds to the street-plan of the old town of Gibellina that once stood there before it was destroyed by an earthquake in 1968.

And just FYI Mastodon has 3 vocalists. The drummer sings, the bass player and the guitar player. Brent, the guitar player is the main vocalist but all 3 contribute.

Mastodon is absolutley one of the 2000 best bands, every record has is own identity. The first three is concept albums that tell a amazing story. Just go on the journey they paint. And BTW Bran is def top 5 drummers ever, the guy sings and drum like a maniac live also, it SICK.
There's 3 vocalists. This song featured some of the bassist (long beard) and a bit more of the drummer. One of the guitarists also sings. Some songs may be 1 or the other but most songs it's 2 or all 3 doing different parts, or even harmonies together.
Finally!!!! Such a good band with as many good songs as Opeth and Tool. Try out Roots Remain, Hearts Alive, or Ghost of Karelia
These guys are supercharged for sure. Re album is being produced by David Bottrill (Aenina and Lateralus). He was recommended by Danny Carey who is a good friend of the band. Strong Tool connections with this group. Deep lyrical content as you dive into their stuff and 3! Members of the band provide vocals. Oh yeah…they will melt your face!

If you have to pause in the future, you can use the spacebar to pause/unpause, and the left arrow key to back up in 5 second increments. Easier than moving your mouse pointer around.

It’s not up to us we have to pause certain songs/artist due to copyrights that’s the only way around not getting blocked. There’s been plenty of post of ours that have been blocked due to copyrights.

The way you guys were ignoring the band I thought you are familiar with the music :D Been a long fan of your channel, learned about Spiritbox from you and your Opeth videos are the best. But Mastodon now? Very cool, hope you get into the rabbit hole. Not a big fan of the video but the new song is great.

Alan Thompson mannnn when I started watching this channel I kept wondering how the hell they haven’t watched or listened to Mastodon. There’s so many great songs and albums, I’ve enjoyed pretty much everything they’ve ever done. But my all time favorite is Hearts Alive, like an epic poem or film packed into a song.

@@jakegeeslin9731 I was once there...lol everyone loves Owls and rightfully so, but I'd say start at Monarchy. They have 3 albums rn and all have excellent closers. Basically the structure improved on each successive album. If I had to pick a favorite song from each album it'd be Mechanical Trees, Circles in the Sky, and Death is Real.

I've heard a few Mastodon songs and really liked their sound, but have never really dived in. They're a little less prog than my usual tastes (Opeth, Jinjer, Periphery etc) but this one had some cool riffs and interesting stuff going on.
They are very prog. Just not Djent like the bands you listed.

@@darkphoenix2 Honestly, my eye skipped right over Opeth. They definitely aren't Djent.
As far as Mastodon goes, they definitely split duty between progressive and sludge. The stuff you'd hear in passing is likely their less proggy stuff.
You guys should pick a track off of Remission to see just how far these guys have come. Everything from dirty sludge metal (Crusher Destroyer, Motherpuncher) to downright sing-a-longs (Show Yourself)
This is a band who paired a kickass hard rock song with a stereotypical hip hop video, complete with twerking strippers and pole dancers. I wouldn't put too much meaning in the visuals. You're right, it is visually stunning though. 2021 was a banner year for metal videography between this and Gojira's video.

Gotta do Blood and Thunder. Absolute classic Mastodon song. The Last Baron and Divinations are also great choices if you want to experience their proggier side.
I don’t know about this one in particular but some of mastodon’s videos are just what the music makes them sorta feel/ see in their heads while playing and so are just nonsense really. Fun and go with the music but more like a dream than anything actually meaningful. Plus sometimes they just enjoy Atlanta’s famous strippers doing their thing.
