It also helps people who are looking for answers. If we know what symptoms to look for, it helps us as patients recognize little abnormalities AS symptoms. The more info we have to give to the Doctor the better. This really did help me get that info, I believe it eliminated a few tests that he would have had to do otherwise. Thanks guys
Zachs videos are one of the reasons i am surviving in such a traumatizing and stressful medical life. Love you a lot. Not everyone has that strong determination to provide videos for free
I always just memorize the symptoms of hyperthyroidism. With all my many lecturers, only you made it make sense. You make it so easy to understand. Thank you :)
"That's the overall goal of our channel: to make things make sense not just to memorize it." and they are doing just that! Explaining concepts excellently! It's wonderful!
Im a nursing student and I would be *LOST* without these videos! Zach explains things in a way I can easily understand them and recall them. THANK YOU!!!!
well, at the end of this video you seemed very tired trying to explain, so i want to tell you that you were amazing doing this great job, you are really ( the right man for the right mission ), thanks also for your team
I swear to god that if I had a credit card and enough money I would donate to your amazing channel guys But here in Sudan we don’t have those things and my monthly salary is about 60 dollars -Wish you all the greatness-
Absolutely fascinated by your extraordinary class! I was diagnosed with Hashimoto since I was 12, had my thyroid gland removed when i was 26, and been on this long journey of thyroid hormone medication. I thank you for making all this so clear and with a lot of sense for us the patients. I teach molecular biology in medical school and i will definitely recommend your channel to my students. Keep on the amazing work!
I also have no thyroid, difficult to find information on this disorder. Drs are not equipped. Let me know if you know of any good places to get information. Ty
I've said it before and I'll say it again : this man is great teacher, a life saver and probably the best teaching youtuber out there. I'm a biochem student so not all of this channel is relevant to my courses but boy am I ecstatic when there is even a coupe of minutes relevant to my class.
It's nice after studying for 4 or 5 hours to hear someone say "They're gonna start peeing out their butthole." or "That poop is gonna get stuck up in there." ... it's the little things..
You explain the material so well, I'd prefer if my University would just link your videos before they think of making their own web lectures. Brilliant!
I wonder how u turn these difficult to remember things into such conceivable and comprehensible concepts Suppose u secrete concept creating enzymes via ur tongue...Nothing remains undigested.. U r gifted, Man Keep it up... Almighty bless u
omg you said the overall goal of your channel is to make things make sense and that is exaactly what you have done for me!!! i have so many facts and tidbits memorized in a non cohesive fashion but when i watch your videos they all flow together in a sensical way which enhances my understanding and memory!! thank you so much.
MY BRAIN JUST EXPLODE WITH THIS VIDEO! That normal Physiology and then compared with Hyper and Hypo makes me feel like now I understand A LOT my condition: Hypothyroidism! THANKS A LOT ZACH!
When I say “ I love this part” while explaining something to my friends , they would just stare at weirdly but when I saw you saying the same , it just made me feel that there are ppl like me 🤧🤧🤧 (happy tears)
I'm hooked started watching for thyroid information for my health, now everything is so interconnected I can't stop. Makes me want to go back to school! Thank you 😇
Best way to support Zac is by joining for less than $2.00 per month. Keeps him motivated and feeding us what we need!! Great job man!! I am on my way to joining now...
I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism five months ago.. constipation.. muscle weakness.. hair loss .. fatigue..dry skin.. doing better now with medication.
Excellent content!!! Thank you! I like to follow along and draw out my own matching little diagrams just like yours for my notes. You are a million times more helpful than my professor.
im a student in makerere university medical school and i really love your tutorials. we are really humbled by your good work and i can say you have played a big part in my success at medical school .
I swear I love this guy. His explanations are very understandable and super scientific, yet he can seamlessly work in the phrase, "pee out their butthole" without losing any credibility points.
Thank you so much for all the effort you did for this vid! It helped millions of students around the globe. We reallly really appreciate you sharing your vids to us 🤘🤘
Hey, just a comment to the transcription factor: it's already binded on a specific gene sequence, that means T3 is going through the nucleus and binds to the receptor, where retinoic acid is already binded. :)
Ok, im 11 months too late for this convo :))) but do you know if there s anything else that can bind in there besides retinoic acid? Like if we don't have enough of it in our body, is there anything else that can play that role?
I needed one more month of step prep. My boards and beyond ran out. To renew it for a month was 89.00 (the price went up-that is ludicrous). I found Ninja Nerd instead. This is great.
You have such a gift and you are helping so many people learn and in turn, save lives. I cannot thank you enough. It is not required for me to learn these yet but I will need it I'm sure in the future. The funny thing is, the more information I study, the more it all comes together and makes sense. I am grateful that you are sharing this knowledge for free. I just also wanted to ask for some clarification of why the nails are brittle in hyperthyroidism and why hair would be longer? Thank you that was not clear to me
Estaba por tener un colapso nervioso porque no me queda mucho tiempo pero escucharte me calmó y entendí todo super rápido...GRACIAAAAS Thank you so much!
Love it sir. Your videos make endocrine so simple. One factcheck: According to Guyton and Hall's Medical Physiology 13th ed. (Figure 77-5), T3 and T4 enter the cell via ATP-mediated transport. Not sure if this point is under contention or not, just thought I would make you aware.
Thank you so much. I have had Hashimoto's Disease since I was 10 years old (1969) My father had Graves and Thyroidectomy. I had Graves and grew a goiter the size of a grapefruit. I am a small female and have always been active in everything since I was 3 years old. Had no idea. there was no pain and then my dad noticed the protruding thyroid. Had extractions and radiation treatment and drank a clear liquid. I was never diagnosed with Hashimoto's?? - But just was diagnosed this last Summer.?? The disease was discovered in 1939, I think....I now have 3 other autoimmune diseases. Not properly diagnosed or treated created many unnecessary health problems for me, Good Luck everybody on exams. Zach, you are the bomb. Sincerely, Mary Alice. North Carolina.
I just wanted to say that you have inspired me to apply for PA school. I'm currently working on finding a patient care tech or scribe job so I can have enough hours to apply for 2021-2023.
This is an absolutely amazing lecture on the function of thyroid hormones ; thanks for the effort only now i understand the importance of this gland ; high school student🌹
Another truly amazingly insightful video -excellent job communicating critical hyperthyroid concepts, even to a layman like me. Super helpful as I deal with hyperthyroidism test results. I can so very much see myself in the impacts taught in this video. Invaluable!!!
You should take pictures of your boards once they're complete and sell them as posters, or put them all in a book and write out descriptions. Just an idea. I would pay for that.
Many many thanks for this, I'm keeping this to re-view. I'm 75, have no thyroid, and can't find an endo to get serious with hormone testing. My blood pressure is all over the place (without other cardiac symptoms), so I get treated for that, without "them" knowing what's going on with my thyroid levels! Now having adrenal symptoms as well, which doctors don't seem to understand either. Still no interest in my thyroid hormones. I'm going on to study up with The 'Nerd.
"That's the overall goal of our channel: to make things make sense not just to memorize it."
I wish this was also the goal of my professors in med school lmao
