      It also helps people who are looking for answers. If we know what symptoms to look for, it helps us as patients recognize little abnormalities AS symptoms. The more info we have to give to the Doctor the better. This really did help me get that info, I believe it eliminated a few tests that he would have had to do otherwise. Thanks guys

    Hey, just a comment to the transcription factor: it's already binded on a specific gene sequence, that means T3 is going through the nucleus and binds to the receptor, where retinoic acid is already binded. :)

    • @anastasiai485
      @anastasiai485 4 года назад

      Ok, im 11 months too late for this convo :))) but do you know if there s anything else that can bind in there besides retinoic acid? Like if we don't have enough of it in our body, is there anything else that can play that role?

    One factcheck: According to Guyton and Hall's Medical Physiology 13th ed. (Figure 77-5), T3 and T4 enter the cell via ATP-mediated transport. Not sure if this point is under contention or not, just thought I would make you aware.

    Thank you so much. I have had Hashimoto's Disease since I was 10 years old (1969) My father had Graves and Thyroidectomy. I had Graves and grew a goiter the size of a grapefruit. I am a small female and have always been active in everything since I was 3 years old. Had no idea. there was no pain and then my dad noticed the protruding thyroid. Had extractions and radiation treatment and drank a clear liquid. I was never diagnosed with Hashimoto's?? - But just was diagnosed this last Summer.?? The disease was discovered in 1939, I think....I now have 3 other autoimmune diseases.
    Not properly diagnosed or treated created many unnecessary health problems for me,
    Good Luck everybody on exams. Zach, you are the bomb. Sincerely, Mary Alice. North Carolina.

My blood pressure is all over the place (without other cardiac symptoms), so I get treated for that, without "them" knowing what's going on with my thyroid levels!
