    I read an article about hypothyroidism in a magazine in the break room at work and realized I had a lot of the symptoms. The worst one was fatigue - I'd get home after work, fix dinner for me and my son and then just lay on the couch until bedtime. At my next dr appointment I asked to be tested. She asked a couple of questions, felt my neck and agreed. Started on levethyroxine within two days but it took several months to get the dosage right.

      Try using natural thyroid medicine made at a Compounding chemist ?
      It’s made from pigs 🐖 feet 😝.. something of this nature . ( they are not killed or harmed for this )
      The only part that’s really hard to know is TSH.
      T3 & T4 … have a range guide) Eg : 10-20 .. always aim for what’s
      Comfortable for yourself, but 13,14 is a good thing.
      13.5 was always my best reading. I feel like that’s my sweet spot and all is working together. But now it’s a
      Male doctor who says 10 is perfect. Shits me. As if I don’t know my own feel good level.
      So it’s been depression anxiety now I’ve got trigger finger skin dry , signs
      Of arthritis all over my hands. In 3 weeks my skin has aged me by 30 yrs .
      Hands are so sore . Dr says you have tennis elbow and carpet tunnel . Have it cut and have injections to help. Not thyroid coz it’s at 10 .
      That’s the low end of the range, he’s putting me at risk.
      What would I know though.
      Doctors need to
      Wake up. Those Doctors in the past were the best I’ve had , she ..who dared to make a difference always get kicked out or seen to be doing wrong by government.
      Everyone is built differently.
      Thanks for this video . I will be sending it to my current doctor in hope he might wake up to the pain he’s causing me.

      Allergens in food contribute a lot may be its lactose or wheat gluten , leaky gut etc etc. Today's milk is not milk its estrogen juice. Grass fed raw milk (take goat milk) is very good , if you want instead of milk make it yogurt. Start eliminating allergic foods , take bland food for a while. Cook at home , eat while its still hot. Avoid refrigerated food. Corporate giants care about their profits not about our health.

    This list that you gave here about Hypothyroidism is EXACTLY what I have been through and Knows very well what is happening to my body.
    --- The Problem in North America is that the Medical doctors seems to only give a minimum dosage prescription and that does ot help one bit. Hypothyroids can shut you down completely rendering you incapable of performing many simple activities. I am now doing alternate medicine because these Medical doctors are beyond my comprehension in helping you when you have battled for years and just want relief and a normal life.

    Excellent presentation! Covered a lot of my symptoms. I could never get diagnosed because my TSH was in an acceptable range. But two of my sisters had Hashimoto thyroiditis, another just "hypothyroid". Two other sibs, like me, had the symptoms, but never a diagnosis, and coincidentally, we were all gluten free. Finally I made progress when I cooked up a big batch of fried cabbage and ate it heartily. The next day I couldn't get out of bed. That's when I found out that my thyroid is sensitive to the kale/cole crops. Do you think I am the only one in my family that has this condition? I don't, and so I hope to see more research delineating the condition: how common is it, what are the tong term effects, when should a diagnosis be considered? I was in my mid 60's when I found out, but had left the work force early because mentally and physically, I couldn't go on. Oh, and the long term outcome for me came a couple years after diagnosis. I developed pancreatitis. For me it seems odd that I had two glands that weren't functioning. I wondered if maybe I was more sensitive to sulfur than just the kale/cole crops. So I doubled down on a low sulfur regimen. And my pancreatic enzymes receded! We know that in this condition, it's about thiocyanates competing to get iodine. Don't all women have dietary thiols in their bloodstream? Then it's a matter of some people, men too, being better at clearing sulfurous compounds than other people. So it's not a matter of the TSH being out of range, the thyroid itself has nothing to do with this. And that's why this condition is under-diagnosed, and misunderstood. I hope in the future you can do a presentation on it.

    • @TriciaStCharles
      @TriciaStCharles Год назад +1

      Thanks for this information. How were you able to eventually get a diagnosis since your TSH were in the within the normal range?

    • @labecquerelle9873
      @labecquerelle9873 Год назад +1

      @@TriciaStCharles Sorry, I was unclear. Never did get diagnosed with HT, possibly because I've been gluten free since 1984. What I finally found out was that I have that issue that I can't eat the cruciferous veggies as they interfere with how my thyroid makes the hormone. Actually, when I developed pancreatitis three years after the "no cabbage edict" I decided to double down on a low sulfur approach because it seemed weird that the thyroid and pancreas are glands, and both glands seemed to be malfunctioning. Odds were, that the cause was connected to both glands. I had to cut out coffee, which to this day makes me very ill, chocolate, black pepper, onions, and beans, but after I did that my pancreas enzyme levels dropped back to normal. In the end, I think that even though my TSH was acceptable, the amount of usable, hormone, activated with iodine, was so low that it couldn't influence the pancreas. After that, it becomes an issue that this condition needs to be taken seriously. Women who have been diagnosed with it need to be followed up with to see if they get complications similar to my pancreas problem. I think it's a weak link in women's health care to overlook and under diagnose it. Hell, I don't think this condition even has a proper name!

      @@Dakiniwoman If you are overweight and want to lose weight, surely there is no chance that you would not lose weight on 1 meal a day, unless that meal contained very many calories. The laws of physics still apply so if you have a base metabolic rate of X calories per day, eating less than that will necessarily mean you will lose weight because you are not a perpetual motion machine and can't create the energy you use from the air you breathe.
      I personally wouldn't suggest 1 meal a day but perhaps counting and dividing the calories in 3 or at least 2 meals per day and many nowadays say it might be healthy to eat those inside a shorter window like 8 hours. It's even better if that window is earlier in the day rather than in the evening, so something like 3 meals evenly spaced to keep the metabolism going between 8am to 4pm or 6pm. Exercise helps metabolism not get destroyed during weightl loss, and it doesn't even need to be too hard. Even walking is good if one does it regularly for example 1h per day outside.
      I definitely wouldn't suggest carnivore as the longer term heart disease risk comes from the higher cholesterol levels from that diet. Even that "carnivore MD" Saladino quit the diet and is eating fruits with his meat now so I would try to find things other than meat that you can tolerate to diversify the diet as well, at least in the long term. Carnivore might be ok for shorter periods as an experiment and to lose weight, but there isn't long term studies and the risks are obvoius.

    By the way, I found this one video, an expert on thyroid and skin issues mentioned that someone with hypothyroidism, especially chronic hypothyroidism, may have intensely oily/greasy skin, on the face, on the scalp, on the upper portion of torso, and on the upper portion of the back.
    And that's kind of exactly what I've been struggling with, and because of all the other symptoms I have I'm suspecting I had hypothyroidism all these years (in a few days I'll do the necessary blood tests).
    And I'm also noticing that it's such a rarity to see people with such a problematic face and scalp skin, so oily, so dirty actually (impossible to keep clean), so acneic. Most people have no idea how incredibly fortunate they are, when it comes to the skin. I look at others and I'm just amazed - "it's incredible how perfect the skin of human beings actually is"... Heck, you can even take cancer patients or people with some severe disease, and their skin is STILL amazing. I don't know what kind of lottery I personally "won", but it's not fun, like at all.

      No, its usually hypo. the goiter is because your thyroid grows to try to produce enough hormone. Goiters used to be more common, and it was regional, not all soils have enough iodine to get into your foods, therefore goiters/hypothyroidism from lack of iodine. this is a pretty rare cause now because so many of our foods are supplemented and are not regionally grown. you can have a thyroid nodule or tumor producing too much hormone and be hyperthyroid, but this would be a localized swelling of part of the thyroid, not overall enlargement like a goiter is.

    Excellent presentation, just the facts. I have many of these symptoms, cold intolerance, weak metabolism, constipation, brain fog, rubbish appetite, muscle cramps and weakness too, with severe fatigue thrown in, to name a few. Started on Levothyroxin 50mcgs, not much effect, about to go to 75mcg to see if this has any effect. I also have rheumatoid arthritis, which I've been reliably informed, plays a part in developing hyperthyroidism. So, it's just a waiting game with the medication, I just want my life to return to some level of normalcy. Thank you for this straightforward video it's been a great help.

      I would advice against that.Aftwr a while of not taking thyroxine things can go wrong. The thyroxine is a synthetic thyroid and creates the function your thyroid can't. This gland controls your metabolism and keeps you well. Speak to your Dr about your medication,you can't dothis on your own.

    When I was diagnosis with hypothyroidism it was by accident. I have a herniated disc and thought the pain in my right leg was due to sciatica. I mentioned I had some scratches from my then 18mn grandson not healing. I told her I got them over a year ago. Looking at them she asked what else was wrong ran off what I had over come. She why not tell her me bc you just order a pill and we both know how that goes. She made one of the scolding sounds of hers and ordered blood work. Yup was on Levothroxine for a few years took myself slowly off it last year. I was experiencing side affects. Mean mean cramping. Done with it all. Still working on getting levels good. So many pills throw your stomach flora out of whack and it takes time to rebuild your good gut health. Its the key to all falling in place. Thanks for this video! I was Wondering why my hands began taking on that always in water look. Nails brittle but boy do they grow. :-). I make a lime water drink, quarter of fruit including peel, sits in water over night. Lemon is too rough on my stomach. It helps keeping my gerd nonexistent. :-)
