The one thing i love about trivium is the way matt changes his vocals and that the band use a lot of variation in the playstyle! It is always something new and exiting!
There is absolutely nothing wrong with Matt flexing his vocals on this album. Just because a band starts out as metal core and screaming, doesn't mean they have to stay that way. Rock on Trivium!
This song touches all...i am a granny and just cannnot get enough of the pure talent of Trivium...lyrics are epic and the music is powerful as anything I have heard nearly 50 years of life. Got some deep rock and soul✨🌟✌
Of course he doesn't *have* to. But of course if you like a band for a certain reason you're going to want them to make music that you like for that same reason... It's not an insult or anything more than that it's just very logical.

Firstly, as a long time Trivium fan, I am more than pleased by this song, you can tell straight from the first chorus that this an amalgamation of the band's past efforts (which is true for each of their past albums too); the vocals have that almost anthemic power that shogun had in songs like Shogun, Throes of Perdition, and of Prometheus and The Crucifix. They've drawn from what made Vengeance Falls a success and focused on riffs and solos that contribute to making a cohesive, memorable product, which I dig even though I prefer Trivium's more technically impressive moments. The Crusades and Ascendancy are definitely less prevalent in this, but that doesn't mean there won't be tracks on the upcoming album without the same aggression and vocal styles - look at Incineration: The Broken World on Vengeance Falls, that song is such a turnaround vocally and in terms the style of the riffs; As I am exploding also speaks volumes on how the band is still in touch with their roots as it is comparable to Declaration. I feel like stylistically (this is relating to the video) they borrowed from the ethos of In Waves, which is (if I remember correctly) that art inspires art. The monochromatic palette reflects a simpler, more honed version of Trivium, but the strong Japanese imagery signifies that they are still who they've always been, a fucking awesome metal band. All in all, I am way too excited for this to drop in it's entirety, maybe it's because I'm a Trivium fanboy, or maybe it's because this song is something to rally behind as you storm towards the enemy with your raised battle banners and katana unsheathed; either way, great job on the bands behalf. :)
Screw the haters. Their old stuff was awesome and so is their new shit. If they stayed the same then you will just say " oh look how repetitive they are" lol and they switch it up for a couple of albums and you're like " boo hoo they sound mainstream " kinda funny

I think Trivium is the New In Flames, i mean, they started playing heavy, and more agrressive music then now they play this kind of things, still sounds great to me, but damn how i miss old Trivium! :(
+19bloody97 When people say "I miss the old whatever" they mean they want the band to revert back to their original style and not change like Trivium has since their album before this new one.
+Maza Kota ya the old trivum is gone forever, he blew out his voice a while back had to change to this vocal style, to this which is fine w me, but loved the heavier guitar work though
Yes, it would be a waste of talent if a talented singer would do only screams all the time. Some guttural vocalists, I think, are not good at doing clean vocals. So they should stay away from it.
Man anyone who writes songs, plays guitar, knows their music can't hate on Trivium.I might not listen to them as much as I used to but I respect the shit out of them, they are very good musicians
This is the only song on the new album that no one gets sick of. Probably because it was written right after Shogun and has that vibe. But imagine how good it would've sounded back in that era!

Trymchannel well get used to Matt only singing cleans because he has stated that he is never growling ever again.
+Tobi kun not exactly...he did say that but he also had some recent feedback saying that he might growl in this album or the next after all....
Robert Ray he only growled because it was "easier".

The reason why this album doesn't have any screaming is because Matt blew his vocals. But even without screams they made a pretty killer album
My friend hated metal because he couldn't stand the scream so I gave him this song and he fell in love with Trivium
It seems most non-metal listeners aren't used to the growl in metal at all. I bet after a couple of listen, they would start to appreciate it.

+Chase Broughton Thanks for the recommendation. Looks to me like you know a lot about Trivium, I'll check out Ascendency first.
Shogun is probably their best album to date, so I'd recommend that for sure 🤘🏼
It's a matter of opinion although most Trivium fans think Shogun is the best
I agree it's better but better is subjective in a way
+Jay Y I know Ember was but I'm actually referring to the records released on Roadrunner records(post ember)
What a tight sounding band, fantastic riffs
