I've seen some people remove Long Haul's legs to make Devastator less back-heavy. I might do that as my shelf isn't very deep. Plus I like Hook's boom arm to sit flush against the back.

Some nice transformation tidy ups in this video I never thought of before. I have the original like toys 3d printed kit, it doesn't colour match the purple unfortunately so I've been tempted to get the plastic one but most videos it doesn't seem as stable as the 3d printed version.

Is there anything securing Long Haul to the hips? Mine just sits on top, held in place by gravity alone 🤷♂ Seems a bit precarious
Thanks for commenting, I notice from your comment that you are having trouble securely attaching our friend Long Haul to the new support piece.
The first thing I would tell you is to follow the transformation steps of this figure, in combiner mode, as I show you in the video. Next, you just have to insert the character with its new form into the pivots and slots of the support and make sure to insert the small projections of the support (green pivots) into the small gaps in the base of Long Haul (holes in the purple color that are next to the wheels), this joint secures Long Haul in the waist support, I assure you.
Tell me if it has worked for you, if not, explain to me in more detail why it doesn't fit securely, it shouldn't move at all, regards ☺️
Continuing with my previous answer, in level 6 of the video you will have to combine Hook on Long Haul, I also watched the video, when I finish adjusting both characters, that union of both will adjust Long Haul even more and he will no longer move.

I see the points you mentioned and mine align so that the little green points insert into the small grooves on Long Haul's arms (between the silver detailing). But no matter how hard I push, they don't "click" together and become securely attached. Are we talking about the same parts? If so, I will try again later today after disassembling the combined figure.
@michaelscholes8956 Thanks for commenting, from what you told me you have located the fitting points, those small green pivots must be fitted into the holes of the arms, for further reference you will see a striped area. At the same time, you must fit the pillars of the part of the upgrade where we anchor Long Haul. Next, when you insert Hook, he will make both characters safer, blocking the area and preventing anything from being dismantled. I'm sorry I can't be more graphic, I invite you to see my review, I assure you that with this, if you follow the steps that I indicate, you will be able to secure the combiner at that level, the important thing you should know is that nothing has to be left Without fixing, those two small green pivots are just as important as fitting Long Haul correctly into place and in turn, on top of it, fitting Hook correctly. The key fixation area between Long Haul and Hook, in addition to correctly seating the base, is key to fix its rear part, I am referring to the flat area of Long Haul's dumper and Hook's back.

Gracias por comentar, el que mencionas es un KO del Generation Toy y si no me equivoco andaba por los 38 cms en modo Devi, éste es un KO OS del GT, sin el kit upgrade ronda los 45 cms y sube a 53 cms con él, como bien dices es un monstruo, saludos ☺️

Thank you for commenting and leaving your opinion, I don't quite understand your discomfort, this update, despite your words, is something quite expected for many of us, realize that the final appearance of this Devastator looks incredible. I'm not sure what you mean when you say about the reduced version of Jinbao "one nit". Jinbao only has one version and it is Oversized from another company, Generation Toy, this is a reduced version as well as the KO made by the NBK company. This set is for Jinbao only and it makes for a wonderful thing IMHO, best regards ☺️
