I recommend checking out Jinbao's Warbotron, same family as Generation Toy. Slightly simplified, about the same price if not cheaper, but scales perfectly with this. The Predacon based on MMC's Feral Rex is hit or miss, can barely stand on it's own and requires an upgrade kit just for hands. Also i get mine from AliExpress, super easy, super safe, about the same shipping time as sir toys. NBK is overly simplified, not worth it, and is a 1:1 of the GT. Jinbao needs to complete the upscaled Generation Toys Combiners and upscale their TFM Havoc. It still kinda works, but it's short at 14" Agree that the Jinbao combiner is too short for MP scale, but bot and alt modes work perfectly. If I was willing to spend the money, I'd take a TW Devy and chop off most of the limbs and slap these guys on instead. GT look, TW height! I've found that mainline or legends figures work best for the combined mode.
@@Wallbeige yes, the original Generation Toy version scales pretty good. But it's way more expensive than this at $300. More if you want this color scheme. The NBK would be the way to go if you just want a combiner, as it is simplified.
My CHUG collection mainly goes for vehicle scale. And for this... Yeah this is perfect. People underestimate just how frigging HUGE construction vehicles are. And them all being about leader size in bot mode also makes sense because they're all supposed to be heavy hitters. I'll definitely pick this up when able.
“You don’t buy it for individual figures…” Me who bought it cuz I’m a fan of construction machines: And as a poor guy, I got the NBK version, also G2. And this is probably the best Devastator set if you’re looking for an Industrial Feel.
@@milkyw4ywastaken76 all the bad joints are either screws or mushrooms, mine had to be tweaked a lot but very easy to adjust and I recommend a small screwdriver. The bigger ones will damage the screw holes.
@@milkyw4ywastaken76 as I said about the joints, They need to be checked on at first unpacking. The plastic is cheap but not brittle. It won’t disintegrate in your hands but it’s easy to bend so careful on that. And of course, being cheap means the combine mode will eventually wake an at the knees, that’s where the weight will be forced on. But surprisingly, scrapper’s bucket toe won’t affect the combiner’s stability. But even if he’s cheap and light, it’s still a heavy mass so you won’t be posing very dramatically below the hips.

Long Haul has always been my favorite constructicon, I really like his g1 toy and art. I feel very few, if any, modern Devastator figures get him right. This one misses the mark in my books. The coolest individual figure in this set has got to be Scavenger, he looks freaking sick. The combined mode looks really cool.
@@ThatToyGuy Despite being a K.O, I bet this one feel better than the CW. I sold my old CW because it felt so cheap in hand. As if the thing was made out of margarine containers. The undersized KO is much better. Looking forward this review to know if I would go all "shut up and take my money/ on this.
Mine finally came in today. I love it. Everything feels well designed and accentuates both the g1 aesthetic and a modern look. My only gripe is that mine struggles to stand and that mixmaster can’t hold his foot form too well.
I got the NBK version. It's actually not bad. Has all the same errors and problems you've listed for this one, but other than that, I'm loving the way it's looking in front of WFC titan class Scorponok!
A couple tips: You can un-tab the wheels on Scrapper's shoulders and re-tab them in towards the back of his shoulders so they are not so "in your face". You can do the same with Long Haul too, if I remember correctly. You can swivel the base of the crane arm on Hook's back to position it towards the top of his shoulders, so the arm runs downward along his back and the tip touches the ground. This adds stability, like a third leg (unnecessarily IMO since he's already pretty stable) but mainly is a nice way to tuck the arm out of the way. You can also just detach it (if only it could then attach to Mixmaster, as he could definitely use the stability)
Glad I watched you lift the cover on the Mixmaster vehicle, I hear a piece of plastic rattling inside where the concrete is mixed . Heck I had no idea how detailed these were and its sitting in a display case in front of me lol

6:32 strong disagree. Longhaul’s look was one of the reasons I wanted this set. It’s so badass. Makes the CW version feel like a Happy Meal toy in comparison.
The design of Generation Toy's Long Haul in vehicle mode looks like they drew inspiration from Gogo Dump of Gogo Sentai Boukenger/Dump Driverzord of Power Rangers Operation Overdrive. I don't mind that, Gogo Dump was my favorite of the first five Boukenger Mecha. NBK's "TF-Ingineering"...ugh. That thing is apparently so simplified down that it makes Jinbao's oversized Feral Rex (Predaking) KO look perfect (and apparently, Predaking was Jinbao's first effort, so it's been somewhat simplified). UPDATE 2022Mar28: Finally got the big beefy bois. So let's see. Scrapper's my favorite just because it's Scrapper. But, one thing that you missed is that those front skirt parts LOVE to pop off if you look at'em funny; this was a problem with the Generation Toy original, too. The individual Constructicons ALL suck at holding their guns, this is because of how their forearms basically prevent you from inserting them properly. Scavenger is my second favorite, his design is just badass here. As for scale, I think the individual robot modes work quite well with larger MPs & ol' skool Leader class (Ditto for Jinbao's Feral Rex KO)...of course that makes the combined mode entirely too small to work correctly. But all in all, definitely worth the money.
Glad I'm not the only one who had to go to Emgo for help with the Transformations!! I for realz LOVE this guy!! I snagged the green version from TFSafari - he lives on my desk at work, and scales brilliantly with Jinbao's Pocket size "DF04 Optimum Warrior", whom he can clutch menacingly in his hand :D
@alfeaffable9254 they're HUGE by comparison - the combined Gestalt mode works scale-wise, just because I always assumed there's some Mass-shifting involved (based on comic illustrations, etc) 🤣
You mention the colors of the G2 looking more realistic. There is one company that makes construction vehicles in that Neon Green color. Look up 'Terex Green' - Now, they don't use purple as an accent, but it's the same green as G1 Constructicons.
12:06 gotta say, based on the Autobot City attack scene, the combined mode works best with MP scale. The original GT figure scales better with CHUG. Rather than leader class, the Constructicons were all around voyager scale. Devastator didn’t look much bigger than other combiners. But that’s boring. The Jinbao MP scale figures look the coolest with CHUG. I adore how menacingly mighty and massive Devastator is. A true Titan. One thing CW got right was the scaling. In individual bot mode, those are about Voyager. Yet combined mode closer matches the size of Jinbao’s Devastator. Shame the robots themselves are just poo.
You don't have to hold the button down. It's weird but barely untransform his head and push the button and it stays on. Also JinBaos Warbotron ko is great, fixes all the flaws with normal Warbotron and is the same height as this Devy
Let me give you some advice Don't ever purchase toyworld constructor no matter what anyone tells you it's awful it breaks to easily and you can barley move the figure without stretching the joints
I actually have the yellow battle damaged version of that and it still holds together better than the Zeta Bruticus I had when it first came out. It becomes a pain to separate after combining but I don’t see any sign of breaking. That one I bought to replace the green version of Jinbao’s oversized Gravity Builder. I couldn’t keep it standing whenever I posed it. I was surprised That Toy Guy managed to keep his standing. I certainly can’t say it breaks easily. It’s a solid figure. The best combiner in my collection. Even the individual bots are amazing. They pretty much resemble the G1 toys really well. Heck, this is the go-to figure when wanting a masterpiece combiner. I think a better advice is not to get the first release of Zeta Toys Bruticus since mine had the shoulder tab break after laying the thing on my bed, even though I barely messed with it. Not to mention the knee tabs to swindle come loose, the guy can barely stand to where he has to lean against a wall, and the tracks from Brawl can come apart to easily that it’s not even worth the moving tracks. I plan to replace that with the newer version that fixed those issues. And DEFINITELY don’t get XTransbots Menasor. Unless you just want the individual bots, that thing is badly unstable due to all the paneling just for the gimmicks. If you want a masterpiece Menasor, go with DX9. Theirs has better stability and scales with Toyworld and Zeta if that is your ideal scaling for combiners. If you only want the bots, then yeah. XTransbots is a good choice, or even FansToys if you have the money. But for a masterpiece combiner, DX9. They finished first and actually give you Motormaster with his trailer that turns into Menasor.
When I first stood mine up, he seemed pretty stable for a few seconds. Then the roof on Mixmaster's cab caved in under pressure of that chrome cylinder above it and he fell forward. Anyone else had that happen? Seems like the cab roof shouldn't collapse like that.

Just watch your video now, that is great, mine is green, but that would look better if you would install the upgrade kit version 2.0 , it will fixed all stability issues, plus it will stand as tall as the toy world devi.
Awesome devastator!
Why did you get the yellow?
Cause i liked it
@@ThatToyGuy respectful answer.
Hey @ThatToyGuy I know you may NOT see this but, how tall are the individual figures
Having an extremely tough time getting the knee connectors in on mine, suggestions?
I got in Mixmaster with not that much difficulty but Scrapper will not connect in fully flush no matter what. I removed both, then tried him on the other side same issue but now cannot get back in Mixmaster on his dedicated side. Watched many videos and all seem to be easier than mine.
After seeing the upgrade kit which I did not want, would the upgrade kit help with this problem perhaps?
He'll be an inch larger with the Liketoys upgrade kit
Where's the best place to find one of these in 2023?
They dont miss leg day
I still Can't believe you got one
How does this guy compare next to planet x war for Cybertron figures? If they look good enough I might get this dude for that
If I ever got this one, I'd need to Shuarking in classic Dinobot colors just to make things even. Not that I'd need that as an excuse to get either one
I've been tempted to get this Devastator, and while I'd like it in the original colours holy _shit_ do these colours actually look really good on him.
how do you make the joints tighter?
Devastators hands shaking in the intro 💀
Have you bought the upgrade kit for him? It has the G1 accurate head and the knee extensions
I regret not buying this 😔 I bought the combiner wars instead which is a good figure when combined but the individual cons suck
Am I the only who likes the longer videos?
HOLY SHIT THAT IS AWESOME
the kibble on the arms look like shield's
