In regards to K. Michelle- don't be so quick to cut people off. People don't get to plan the timing in which they go thru things. You can't assume people weren't there on purpose.
That’s my thought. People have their own lives. If I’m going through something serious a phone call or a text is more than enough for me if you’re not my immediate family. You aren’t the only going through a hard time at any given time.

that’s some old fashioned thinking. I’m with Jeannine on this - being male doesn’t make your name automatically superior or deserving of being attached to a child for the rest of their life. Even with married folks or traditional nuclear families - I mean, how many kid have their abusive or neglectful “father’s” last name?

I thought this was recent until my longterm memory said Noway, you watch this already...😣 I still watch it .I'm a Fan of this show in fact I'm an AC at this point.
My dad died when I was four months old. My mom and dad were married so I took his last name but my mom remarried (I’ve always called him my dad) a few years later and they had kids and everyone but me had the last name Philips. There was five Philips and one Walsh so it was just weird. So when I was eight my parents changed my last name to theirs to help me not feel so you know different from everyone else in my family. I was happy about it then but now I sometimes feel like I screwed over my biological dad and am just forgetting about him.
The reason that I believe that most people give the father’s last name is because that people will know who the dad is because the mom we know for a fact is the mom because they carry the child by the dad sometimes doesn’t even resemble the child
lol Adrienne! ur right tho,Carol & Susan are older lady names. Barbara, Linda, Cathy... there's classic or traditional names that aren't outdated though
What I would want to say for like Adrienne just to give another view cause I heard her say that's messed up about not giving the fathers last name. Say like my child's father isn't a good role model and was in a well DV relationship not married and now a single mother of 3 all 3 have my last name I don't feel their father should have that say honor of my children carrying on his last name. What would you say to a women bearing a child with someone who is say toxic would you tell them give that child their fathers last name? ❤ I love these talks so people can see others opinions and views on things like this
My dad asked not to be named on my birth certificate & i still have his last name & honestly sometimes I feel some kinda way about that. I was gonna change it but ultimately decided to keep it for my grandparents but I kinda agree with Jeannie if I have a baby it’s having my last name unless we’re married.
Everyone will be mixed in the US, not the world. Everyone is basically already mixed in Latin America. It only happened in Latin America first bc most countries didn't have anti-miscegenation laws. It was more about class but people of different races could marry if they were from the same economic class. The US is just catching up.
Are we suppose to be honored that the Kardashian/Jenner next generation will mostly be black? No honey, the other way around. They need to be honored that we are blessing them with melanin. PERIODT!!!
It's like in some cultures once a woman gets married part of their identity gets wiped out. They become Mrs whomever, their children are seen as the children of Mr whomever. I don't get this debate though just give your child both parents' last name🙄. It never made sense to me why children in some countries only get the father's last name.
I agree w Jeannie. My daughter's dad bailed as soon as I got pregnant. The day I gave birth he showed up and expected me to put his last name. Nope. I didn't. I didn't think he deserved that. Hes not even on the birth certificate. And that has honestly been the best decision of my life. I don't need his permission to get her a passport to enroll her in school for any insurance purposes or anything else. I also don't get any child support from him or have ever asked. She's 100% mine.
Married or not married... Involved in the child's life or not... For me, my future kids won't automatically get their dad's surname. My surname is dying out and I would't be able to continue it. For what, just because I'm a woman? Nah fam. It should be a conversation between future parents and what they want. I hate sexist traditions and don't assume just because you have a dingdong between your legs that my child will have your surname.
One I just want to say how beautiful you all are sheesh 😍😍😍😍 but I went back to Foster care when in was 17 and in my senior year of highschool . I was going through so much I already had to grow up quickly from my parents passing. I was so angry and felt like I didn't belong anywhere But I met this girl in the group home . At first she got on my nerve cause she was so bubbly. I never forget how she just was so forgiving of me and never got mad at me when I snapped on her 🥺 she loved me so much and showed me it . Even when I felt like I couldn't love ... She loved me. She prayed with me. She listened . Bathed me when I was sick with pneumonia , dressed me , brushed my hair & refused to go to school just to take care of me. Of course she got in trouble. She'd stay up and wait on me just to hear about my day whenever I went on a visit . We stood up for a lot of wrong doing where we lived at the time and made a difference together you know ? One day we had a falling out & I decided to cut her off ( petty drama) I ended up leaving the group home at 18 and went through many other trails. One day months later we met up again walked half across bmore city to see each other again. Nothing was different , we took pictures , smoked fat Ls , ate BBQ had one of the best times of my life that summer day..... That was that last day I seen her alive . She was murdered at 21 . I still remember her high pitched voice , her big beautiful smile & how we'd dance like crazy in the living room 😓 I can relate to Tam and Lonnie I cried when Tam was talking. Till this day I've never met a spirit as bright and vibrant as CeCe . Dance in paradise honey bunny 😇💐🌄🕊️😓💔Cherish your close friends 💌💯👩❤️👩

I don't know why there was screaming and crying to that point. I hope this doesn't scare anyone away from considering getting one. I love cortisone shots. They are such a relief for chronic pain and flare ups. I have been getting them since I was a child.
My mom and dad weren’t married when I was born. I have my mother’s last name. I absolutely think it’s up to the parent. Not every man earns the right to have his name put on a child...especially if they’re not a significant figure in their life. When ur married, that is different I think.
I think it should be the richer parent. If my wife’s the richest then that baby’s last name is gonna be hers but if I’m the richest then it’s gonna be my last name
In most Latin American countries children take both their parents last names. The father's last name would be the first last name and the mother's the second last name and your full name would include them both
The last name thing is purely due to the fact that the mother is never in question, she's carrying it. The father's name is a way for the dad to Be involved, than just the birth certificate.
I just feel like naming your child their fathers last name only comes from the stigma that you have to be married to have a child. So if you're not in a good relationship or aren't sure youre gonna stay together I think it's okay to have the mom's last name. But I also have a bias because I always wanted my mom's last name.
It used to be done back in the day that if the woman wasn't married, the child would be in the mother's maiden name. I'm sorry but I'm old fashioned. Marry first and then have your children. People be putting the cart before the horse. If I'm not married to the guy, I'm surely not putting the child's last name as his. For What!?? That's earned and it's earned first by loving that woman and marrying her and then having children and taking care of your family like you're supposed to as an adult.
Loni and Tamera’s friendship is straight goals

Jeannie looks like she changed her mind about having kids. I guess the man she married didn’t give her the right vibes to have a baby with him. 🤷🏿♂️
Tamara is such a genuine person and so is Loni... you can tell they love each other. And Loni loves her babies... ❤️
Can we all agree that the Kardashians pick some interesting baby names...
Yeaaa stormi is the best tho
I wish my mom would've never given me my dad's last name. I hate it so much he's a deadbeat and so is his family. I have a strangers last name.
Change it
@@rebeccat6825 i just recently did. I never wanted to do it without my mom's support cause she wasnt sure of the reasons why i wanted to do it. Then she realized i really wanted it amd she supported me so i went ahead with the process amd i couldn't be happier
that’s some old fashioned thinking. I’m with Jeannine on this - being male doesn’t make your name automatically superior or deserving of being attached to a child for the rest of their life. Even with married folks or traditional nuclear families - I mean, how many kid have their abusive or neglectful “father’s” last name?
I love Jeannies top, she’s glowing 😍😍
I LOVE THEIR LOVE!!!! I also love Tam in that dress!
Everyone needs a loni love in their life ❤️
Ya some people do not all but true they need it agree yes
I am 24 so I’ll call myself a grown-ish man (Family saying). Every time I watch an emotional part. Or watch these wonderful ladies be so real I can really say they make me cry. Help me get in touch with my (soon to be wife and child.) I’m Happy this show is running and happy we have the best host. thanks for being REAL
I agree with Jennie
7:34 Adrienne killssss me 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Loni and Tamera made that awkward but it was very endearing
I love crying along with the ladies of The Real and witnessing authenticity. Not everyone has a support system in their lives- even more of a reason to be kinder to one another
Tamara and Lonnie got me in here crying oh geez!😭😭😭😭
Dark Treasures same I’m tearing up!
Me to they always be taking us on a emotional Journey
@@Zoerapss Ikr.

It's how loni said Peter Kardashian
The tounge is powerful indeed lol
Adrian is extra always going so hard for the kardashians 😂
Adrienne capping for her friends 😂😂
I thought this was recent until my longterm memory said Noway, you watch this already...😣 I still watch it .I'm a Fan of this show in fact I'm an AC at this point.
I love the way they are always there for each other... They really are like sisters😍😍
The reason that I believe that most people give the father’s last name is because that people will know who the dad is because the mom we know for a fact is the mom because they carry the child by the dad sometimes doesn’t even resemble the child
how ironic, aint nothing loyal, real, or genuine about that family lmao
lol Adrienne! ur right tho,Carol & Susan are older lady names. Barbara, Linda, Cathy... there's classic or traditional names that aren't outdated though
Stormi....imagine her as an adult and with that name.
❤ I love these talks so people can see others opinions and views on things like this
I'm not a crier, but Tamera & Loni got me bawling at 1am!!!!!
With Amanda on the show it gives the real a whole different vibe and personally it’s not in a good way for me, I just wish it back to this 😢
My dad asked not to be named on my birth certificate & i still have his last name & honestly sometimes I feel some kinda way about that. I was gonna change it but ultimately decided to keep it for my grandparents but I kinda agree with Jeannie if I have a baby it’s having my last name unless we’re married.
Jeannie has to always make things deep and bring up stuff that isnt apart of the convo
PERIODT!!!
SAY IT LOUDER SIS
It's like in some cultures once a woman gets married part of their identity gets wiped out. They become Mrs whomever, their children are seen as the children of Mr whomever. I don't get this debate though just give your child both parents' last name🙄. It never made sense to me why children in some countries only get the father's last name.
Awww the ending got me 😭😭😭
let's declare MARCH as #BlackFutureMonth as in marching forward. it's the beginning of spring a time of renewal and rebirth let's start a movement.
She's 100% mine.
so unless you're married or any really really good healthy relationship I would not put the father's last name.
I was so angry and felt like I didn't belong anywhere
But I met this girl in the group home .
My husband’s dad wasn’t in his life growing up so our kids are keeping mine 🤷🏼♀️
Do you guys remember that one clip (web exclusive) where they were talking about tampons and jeannie said "dont you hate when you have to fish for the string" . If anybody can find the clip please send me the link
Yes I literally just watched that not too long ago! I'll see if I can find it in my history. How can I send it to you if I find it?
@@mindofzena8447 just comment it under this comment
As soon as Tamera started crying, I started crying.
I love you four so much. I feel for all of you for chronic pain but I LOL at the dramatic explanation of the cortisone shot. The needle is not that long and it doesn't go that deep. I don't know why there was screaming and crying to that point. I hope this doesn't scare anyone away from considering getting one. I love cortisone shots. They are such a relief for chronic pain and flare ups. I have been getting them since I was a child.
Genie be sayin some deep real sh*t and ppl be sleep on it on the show lol “let the minority be the majority” 😮
My mom and dad weren’t married when I was born. I have my mother’s last name. I absolutely think it’s up to the parent. Not every man earns the right to have his name put on a child...especially if they’re not a significant figure in their life. When ur married, that is different I think.
This convo wouldn’t even necessary if some folks Stop opening legs to deadbeats
Saturnino! 😂💕I love our Boricua Old Generations names
I think it should be the richer parent. If my wife’s the richest then that baby’s last name is gonna be hers but if I’m the richest then it’s gonna be my last name
Loni this hair style looks good on u and makes u look younger
Tamara and Loni were about to make me cry!😭
If you’re watching this today, we all know this corona virus is the next generation
Sierra G yessss🤣🤣
Did Tamera really just explain the roots of the word "true"?
There were already jokes about Tristan not being True because he wasn't faithful.
You can always add both last names just like Hispanics do, I have four names in mine LMAO
A regular name like Susan! YOOOO LMFAOOO
In most Latin American countries children take both their parents last names. The father's last name would be the first last name and the mother's the second last name and your full name would include them both
The last name thing is purely due to the fact that the mother is never in question, she's carrying it. The father's name is a way for the dad to Be involved, than just the birth certificate.
jeanine ... it’s very traditional to have the father last name
Adrienne always stick up for the kardashians….I wouldn’t…not how rob embarrassed her on the show….Chris was laughing and all
When they were talking about True’s last name anybody else here the anger rising in Adrienne’s voice 😂
There are other countries where the tradition is for the baby to take the mother's last name
Ooo.. this was awesome .. my lord I’m going to miss you ladies so so so much
This is the first time I’ve ever agreed with Jeanie. I would absolutely not give the child the father’s last name.
It depends on your state but if you want child support in AZ the child will need the father's last name.
Loni u are very very beautiful shoutout to u loni and the others on the real bless u all
