I’ve had fun experimenting with this app since I got my iPhone 11, my first with dual cameras. Even though I have a ‘real’ camera, it is interesting to play with computational photography. What the current generation can do with smart HDR, night mode, and deep ‘sweater mode’ fusion, is quite impressive. The new iPad version of Focos is very promising, with more space to work and pencil support to edit the mask, but it it is still very buggy, and not quite ready for prime time.

This app is amazing. You could literally take wedding photos and not worry about edge detection as you can fix it later. Saved me loads of times, and works perfectly with the Pencil and iPad Pro. When LiDAR comes to iPhone, it’s just going to get even better.

In the near future there will completely normal that you add/correct a DOF in Lightroom... Simulating shape of bokeh ect. I would say it would be nice future to have control of it aspect either. Because why not?

Thinking of downloading Focus app but is it worth spending the money on the pro features as Apple might make these features as standard on future iPhone's as computational photography is improving all the time.

Well many people are watching your videos on a phone. And plus many people don’t really understand the difference between sharpness and detail. When people see sharpness, they will automatically think it’s more detailed. Everybody always calls me crazy because I always prefer more detail, not sharpness. And people just don’t understand that.

Well there is a reason sharpening exists
If can compensate for lack of detail most of the time for most of the population
In my opinion If the picture is not over sharpened and if it is not meant to be zoomed then detail does not matter
