In this lively podcast episode, hosts Adam, Dylan, Flame Boy, and Flame Hater engage in a humorous yet insightful discussion about their experiences in the cycling community, content creation, and the misunderstandings that can arise in online interactions. The conversation covers Flame Hater's background in ultra distance racing, the challenges of RUclips content creation, and the playful rivalry between Flame Boy and Flame Hater. As they navigate through their beef, they emphasize the importance of clear communication, the dynamics of online relationships, and the role of humor in social interactions. The episode concludes with reflections on style, branding, and the lessons learned from their experiences. In this engaging conversation, the hosts discuss various aspects of cycling, including personal style, race strategies, and the experiences from the Dust Bowl race. They delve into the significance of family in cycling, the recent Gravel World Championships, and the evolution of gravel racing. The discussion also covers tire performance, the importance of marginal gains, and future projects in the cycling community. The episode wraps up with reflections on personal growth and the cycling journey.
Dizzle, after making a terrible first impression, goes on to make an even worse second impression 😂
100% hahaha
True story 😬
OMG 💯 I am dying listening to this!!! 😂😂😂
@@JustSnowglow I’m honestly impressed at how Tyler handled the whole conversation with a smile
Facts. He doubled down. VC got a little preachy tho.
Drew being devastatingly douchey.
It was "funny" at first, and now its his whole personality - he cant turn it off. Its like the boy who cried wolf.
Dillman doesn’t understand that if you have to repeatedly explain that something is funny or ironic than it wasn’t funny or ironic.
“I was being funny” no you weren’t bro 😂
Honestly, if they had a prior friendship, there would have been more context and probably would have been funny. But yeah, sarcastic humor doesn't work as well with complete strangers. 😂
While I agree you shouldn't just be sarcastic out the gate..... I do have to say VC is either dense or trying not to admit any fault at all. I think a rock could have picked up Dizzle was joking, but he's in so deep calling him out on video, lying about offering money at the race, not checking his email, etc. That he just stuck to it. I think VC just looks like a stubborn man who's a little full of himself and I'm not even the biggest Dizzle fan. At least Dizzle is having fun in life out here.
@@drdumbo9124he literally said he would eat a bag of D's. Did you watch the video and hear VC say that or are you just choosing to ignore it? 🧐 Dizzle is the one that created all the confusion with his unfunny funnies, and poor "whatever bro" communication style
Drew getting roasted like a rotisserie by VC 😂
It’s amazing how much more interesting and engaging the discussion was in this episode. After the beef was settled this was easy the best episode of bonk bros. VC brought some order, intelligence and thought provoking questions compared to the typical BS’n and talking over each other about nothing. Take notes on this episode boys, this is how it should be done every time!
you've convinced me to give it a listen. Normally I can't cope with the mess and talking over eachother.
2nd this!!
Thanks VC for raising the game of the Bonk Bros podcast. I think Dizzle needs a “time-out” for an episode or two to take some online interpersonal communications classes.
And invite Dylan's backward hat brother on to the podcast.
Petition to replace drew with VC permanently for the pod
VC stock ⬆️
Dizzle stock ⬇️
Didn't VC eat a bag of dicks for not checking his email?
This Dizzle guy, is one strange individual.
Super hard watch, good guy VC communicating with a 12 year old
Yes Latern Rouge at least 2 years ago he was like a race consultant for visma!!!!
Yep, he was on a podcast talking about that. Nero show I think...
He's more than a consultant now. I think next season he has a pretty legit title, too.
I think he's properly employed by Visa since this season
Latern Rouge is LITERALLY in this years Visma Lease A Bike Tour de France doc on altitude camp.
He has a team bike! Lol these guys
I get the feeling if Drew and VC did an impossible route, their beef would be even bigger after.
You could tell VC had no real interest in that 😂
Could you imagine being around Dillman for that long? BARF...
@@yungchimpu1436100%, hard pass.
The route could get impossible for real
I couldn't even stomach Dylan in this video. Imagine actually trying to get business done with that guy
VC is pure class and funny as hell.
Make VC a regular guest.
Lol they wish 😂
VC should rotate through as a regular guest - great stuff
He's way out of their league..
Drew still does not get it
Only heard about this podcast because of the VC adventures! VC brought me here!
Same here, had never heard of them until VC gave Dizzle a shout out 😂
Yer and I won't be returning.
Yes LR works for Visma and he prob doesnt get demonetized because he pays for the races highlights rights
VC & Bonk Bros was the crossover I didn't think I wanted, but I did. Loved every second of it.
I’m only at minute 15, but so far it’s the best episode ever.
FAX
I once watched one of Drew's videos only halfway through instead of finishing it and he somehow got my phone number and texted me telling me that he was going to come to my local gravel race and destroy me and that he had also sent my number to a bunch of spam call centers.
I'm buying a second pair of Tifosi VC pink and blue sunglasses after watching this.
Dizzle constantly cutting off VC like a scorned ex-GF baby mamma is wild LoL
it's actually pretty amazing that Dizzle got this far in life with a "life skillset" of a handicaped 5yo. I would say just a fact he is not living with his parents is already a big success. Anything above that just WOW - only in america
Wait Vegan, you undersell yourself, you own a cycling clothing business and sponsor other cyclists. Just saw Dave Domonoske wearing your kit on Norcal Cycling. Also, you should name drop the pro's you ride with.
While also hosting and putting on free rides for the community in multiple cities, food and riding for free. He gives back so much to people and the cycling community and is always under selling what he has done. That’s what makes him different then most who do things only to talk about it or talk and don’t actuality do.
Tyler should be a regular guest on the podcast.
Tyler was great. I love the printed messages.
Dude Bro vs Joel Osteen
an immovable autist meets an unstoppable autistic force
I agree with Tyler, for a grown up man Dizzl has to explain his behaviour way too often. And I feel sorry for him cause he needlessly missed a great chance to boost his YT Channel. If he had sent the footage in time Tyler would have given him a great shout-out in his video.
He sent it well before VC did his video.. Tyler just didn’t see it in his inbox and that’s on him for missing that footage.
@@emannpro11 That's why Tyler has to eat d***. But I guess that they could have worked it out easily if only Dizzl had reacted a little more grown up and professional. I'm a huge fan of his and that's why I'm sorry for the missed chance to promote him. His "irony" that he he must explain regularly costs him in the end, I reckon.
@@emannpro11he didn't see it because dilllan failed to communicate that it was on the way. Equal blame on that one
Dylan lol, most high-school girl conversation ever. Nailed it bro
dillman thought dust bowl was live but it turns out he accidentally somehow raced the race from 3 years ago
VC is a class act.
Dizzle aims to make each interaction as funny as possible in the best possible way for himself to look back at. True chaos lmao
I'm only 20 minutes in, but watching DJ and Adam holding back the laughs has me rolling.
VC being on board has made this the first episode I’ve listened to all the way thru.
Lets be honest, VC gave this "podcast" way more views than they deserve. I do seek out Dylan for some nerdy content from time to time, but yikes. These dorks have no idea what this is all about. Tyler, props to you for throwing them a bone.
I'm only watching because of VC.
All of the bonk bros are way faster than VC. VC is just a midpack guy with a GoPro.
"These dorks have no idea what this is all about" from someone who doesn't look like he has ever raced a bike in his life, and has 3 subscribers. Good one, "Seth." Have fun explaining to your 3 followers what "this" is really all about
@@Wds__99 no doubt; I don't think anyone is questioning that. What I am questioning is why any of those guys actually matter! Because SURPRISE we are on YT homie. If you can't tell a story, time to put the off brand GoPro away... and lets be honest here, these guys can't even tell a joke!
@@sacer1852 sorry you got triggered here. To clarify, I've definitely never said I've raced a bike. Or that I'm a content creator. Pretty weird comment.
Drew saying “this is funny” 5 times 😂
Drew, this was tough to watch. Unfollow.
god DAYYYYYMMMMM dillman is cringe....i dunno he came around at the end but at the end of the day, VC is a mad dog
Lantern's videos are not getting demonetized, because he has rights for materials he uses ever since the beginning of 2021, in fact when you go on his channel homepage the video that pops up is him explaining it, I think he has a cap of 5min or so of video material per race he can use, that's why even the best race ever like Col du Granon 2022 TDF is still sub 10min video and also why some races he cannot show, so he does not have rights to italian races like Giro, MSR etc. although he made some deal for historical footage some time ago, but what he is doing is fully legal, he is after all an ex-lawyer so he should be demonetized. The podcast however was there before that, he and Benji started in 2020 just before TDF, so despite the highlight video channel being more popular, it was not first. The Visma job started I think end of 21/start of 22 season, initially Benji also was in it, after a year Patrick stayed, Benji left (although he worked also for Lotto Dstny, not sure if its a thing anymore, or was it just temporary or anything) but coming back to Patrick he recently got promoted/got much more publicly acknowledged as part of the team after some changes in the team structures. So to summarize - Patrick's got the rights to the videos, he should not be demonetized for them, got them legally and its not because of being a Visma employee, quite the opposite actually, he's more a Visma employee because of the recognition he got from making these videos (but probably mostly because he's such a damn hard working guy)
Fire boy (dillman) sounds smarter when he doesn't talk.
yo, how can adam say he had never heard of vegan cyclist before this? has he been living under a rock? youtubers / influencers such as adam should be familiar with others in the same field, especially vc who has done all of the impossible route videos which have hundreds of thousands of youtube views each (some might be above a million by now).
Agree fully. His amazing IR footage is the BEST QUALITY
That was a straight out lie
Dizzledouche by an hour, for sure.
Everything that Drew says is hilarious... Isn't. The first key to comedy is to know your audience. And since Drew didn't know Tyler he's going out on a limb to assume he would pick up on his sense of humor. While watching this podcast he honestly just comes off as a condescending jerk with really lame social skills..... Just sayin'...
Dizzle’s cringey social skills and lack of self-awareness is world class. Kudos sir!
How is Dizzle married...?
Drew, shut up. Let the guest talk. VC constantly pauses when you blabber continuously. ZOOM class 101
Dillman, when the irony's lost and the humor’s forced, it’s time to let the mic breathe a little.
How do you tolerate that 'Dizzle'? Get rid
Would make this podcast blossom if Dizzle was off
Amazing episode- the best VC content I’ve seen him do in ages and hilarious for all the right reasons. Well done 😂👍🏻
Drew’s kit is the Cybertruck of bike clothing - looks like it was designed by a 6 year-old
How about a show like Naked and Afraid with Dizzle and VC. Drop them in a desert with just their bikes and a helmet .
I think Drew should send a flame skinsuit to Tyler for their next race
never been so excited for a podcast drop
Every second of this episode is gold.
I'm a VC fan and have enjoyed his daily vlog series as well as the Impossible routes with JB. Worth queuing them up for time on the trainer.
Cmon man never heard of VC?!
Everyone who’s been on cycling YT for a few seconds knows of VC. I live in Saudi Arabia, and cyclists know of him here. 😂
I just bought my first road bike a month ago. In the lead up product research VC was everywhere. If you spend 10 minutes looking at bike stuff on youtube he's really hard to miss
Not knowing who VC is while trying to create a cycling RUclips business is clueless and basically malpractice. These guys literally have no idea what they're doing. On RUclips you seek out and study the folks who have found success. VC IS one of those guys in the RUclips cycling world. So Drew is either lying, or he's not very serious about growing the RUclips presence.
Drew joins our Saturday fast rides. One time he took the front upping the pace massively, he then proceeded to shout, ‘Those who repent will be forgiven’, brake-check his second man, causing an overlap of wheels, taking multiple riders out, and stopping the group ride. He was then seen sprinting off into the distance. I don't know why we keep inviting him.
Drew playing dum
Is he playing though?
VC saved this episode, bring him back. Get rid of Drew.
LR is on vismas payroll u are correct infact this year he took on an even bigger roll
Agreed with DJ on judging tire speed/efficiency by feel! If you are going to test tires for speed, you need to use real metrics-but, it can be tested accurately by anyone with a power meter, Garmin, and Strava segments.
please get dylan and drew to do an impossible route with vc
As I said somewhere else (can't remember where), I tried the suggested tires by Bicyclerollingresistance (Continental Grand Prix 5000 S TR 32) on my gravel bike, hoping to get new PRs thanks to a way lower resistance than my previous (Hutchinson Overide 38) : what a big mistake !!! It was so bumpy, my bike and my body were shaking on every piece of rock/wood/hole. It was a very painful ride. I then bought the Hutchinson Caracal 40, so, yeah, the widest ones that I could put on my bike, yet I finally beat my previous times, with so much more comfort.
those are road tires man
@@luis0tube Check their page, they put it in the cx/gravel section.
Lame or not, I'd rather ride flames kit than blueberries. Espescially if you are fast enough to win
Notes for Dylan on tire pressures from an "old guy" who actually wrote stuff down. 1988 race set up: Columbus SL frame, 58 cm, Mavic GL330 rims, Vittoria CG tubulars, ~21 mm width. Most in the Midwest ran the plumper Vittoria or Clement sew ups because our roads suck. I had , per the fashion, just swapped my 38 cm Sakae bars for a set of 42 cm Del Mundo bars, because of Hinault. Total weight bike and rider 202 pounds. 120 psi dry/100 for wet roads. I was running 100 psi dry, but after flat/rim damage on pothole at Millender center criterium (downtown Detroit) upped the pressure. Saw first carbon frame at that race in 88 or 89, Michael Secrest riding his Kestrel. By the way, Secrest had bright red bibs, so Dizzle wasn't the first. My buddy Craig ran the Conti 19mm sew ups, he dropped from 170 to 150 psi after they ruptured in a hot car.
the new vs old car analogy is actually such a good way to explain it. when i finally switched from 25's at 100 something psi to 28's at 70 something on my road bike, i felt like i was sluggish on the bike but it was so comfy. after the ride strava was like you beat your record on all these segments lol its a mind trip for sure.
Solid episode! I have mad respect for Drew. He took it in a gr8 way imho!. People who approach strangers in "bro fashion" are rather cool that douche
Guys, Lantern Rouge is at Visma LAB since 2 years
Let's be 100% real here. How many American gravel "Pros" that could actually be competitive against the WT riders at the UCI Gravel Worlds also pass UCI drug testing?
Btw Dutch National Marathon Mtb is over 93,7 km hilly course in the Netherlands
Two things can be true and I believe them both.
these SM beefs are so painful. Follow me follow you, followers.
Wait until the Gravel World Champs come to Nannup, Western Austrlia in 2026. The course will be 96% gravel and will be an absolute grind-fest.
Thanks for the smiles guys! Enjoyed the content yall need to do more shows about beef.
Such a good pod. Would love an impossible route adventure with Tyler and Drew!
Douchie Dizzle makes another appearance on today's Bonk Bros episode. 🤦♂️
It's hard to watch the bottom left man speak, SMH
I get that Drew came in hot with his first impressions with VC but at the same time VC gives off this ‘I’m so important and you need to acknowledge that’ attitude anymore. Like he sent you the footage before you released your video and you didn’t say anything to him about how upset you were, you just started all this drama in a video for views. Respect goes both ways VC. Also Life Time doesn’t owe him anything. There are plenty of content creators going to Unbound and Life Time comes out with their own documentary right after. He acts like they need him but they don’t. Just go and enjoy the event. Unbound is always a fun time.
I hope Drew goes back to re-listen to what VC says about business interactions. VC has some great insight about the social media business space. I think Drew has really great coaching business insight, but he's shifted from just a coach to a celebrity (niche celeb but none the less) and with that status there are some different rules.
Great episode. I definitely think Drew/VC "beef" should continue. I would love a WWE style saga between the two.
How did you not know who the VG cyclist is?? Tyler made this very entertaining!
Patrick Broe, aka Lanterne Rouge, was a consultant for Visma - Lease a Bike for the last few years and has recently become their Head of Strategy
Enjoyed the video, good luck to all on your next race, and don't let the flame go out.
Listening to grown men bicker for an hour about who liked who’s photo who followed who and who DM’d who is peak gravel
Only heard of this podcast because of the Vegan Cyclist! Thanks for sharing Tyler
VC wearing the flame shirt got me
VC and Dizzle, Cape Epic 2025. Daily videos. Give the people what we want.
I didn't realize this was so real.
Patrick Broe from Lantern Rouge is a Visma employee.
Best episode to date
Just when I thought Drew was the worst thing to happen to this podcast…VC shows up…
Legends!!! Awesome content. You guys are hilarious! #LoveTheTrophies 🕵♂️
Tyler did a fat tire snow race once, I would like to see these four dudes go do one of those as they are so different from all other bike races out there. Very unique way to ride your bike!
Pretty certain that the UCI had some conversations with US race promoters when they launched the World Series and WCs but back then everyone in the states regarded their involvement as a hostile takeover.
Also pretty certain that the UCI would be stoked to have Gravel World's in the states. But of course there'd have to be a promoter willing (and capable) of pulling it of. But the best promoters in the states have their own thing (ie series) going. So that's that.
And wrt the course. I pre- and reviewed it with Paul Voss on his podcast. It was more technical that what we saw on TV and proper hard. But yes, it also had characteristics of a Belgian classic, in particular the turns. But overall I think definitely WC worthy.
I think adding the need for a course you can do good live coverage from motos, plus have helicopter relays, plus flying in 5,000 people for a week and sorting their accomodation, food and internet, and then ideally have another 5000+ people out spectating on the course.... maybe that starts to cut down the numbers of obvious places?
I'm happy to have a mix of different courses showing what "gravel" is in different places. It shouldn't all be the same every year, and there should be big country US/Canada/Sweden gravel as well as Belgian bits and pieces courses, but there's going to be a fair bit of work to find places that tick boxes for good to host and televise as well as just good to race.
Seriously...you didn't know VC? Come on man! Get on RUclips
Fun episode, would love to see VC as a recurring guest. I really like his suggestion to make the Rock Cobbler a Bonk Bros meetup.
25 minutes in and I’m thankful for the behind-the-scenes look at the cycling world and now I hate it. This is not the flattering video you think it is.
Watched two of your podcasts and tbh reddad is exactly this broken adult with unhealed kid trauma, it's hard to watch Tyler being serious and him always acting goofy, sarcastic and somehow that he's above the rest. Pathetic
VC Dizzle Flame wars! Love it.
Best Bonk Bros episode of all time
Dillman dude is an absolute D.I.C.K. with homeschooled-kid-not-able-to-read-the-room bravado.
Where's the Beef? It's right here.
it's more of a soy thatn a beef...
well marbled
