PICKAROON--Homemade from an Axe

- Creating a Pickaroon out of an old Axe. Watching the Videos of Hand crafted tools and Homesteading done by Wranglerstar has inspired me to create one of my own. I have always had a sore back picking up fire wood by hand after cutting and splitting, I believe I will have the advantage over the trees now. I hope you all enjoy the video, feel free to leave comments.

Nick, you've done yourself proud with this Pickaroon,
wranglerstar Thank you Sir! Your videos have definitely inspired me to restore all of my family's old tools, as well as create some new ones as i go. I am currently working on several other old AXE and wood working tool projects...more videos to come!
Nick Sellers
Nice man, very nice. Better than any store bought anyday IMO
Thanks, i appreciate it. yeah, i don't think you will find one like this in a store.
Great Video. Now that is a PROPER Pickaroon.
Thanks Mark!
Very nice tool you made. Happy to come across this video.
Thanks for showing us how to repurpose the axe head. This project is within the grasp of most do-it-yourselfer's. My thought on purchasing the head. If I have to buy the head, might as well buy the hole thing.
i like to make great things out of not so great things.
Beautiful work !!
Great tool !
Excellent! I will make this one. 👍
Nick you have done a great job making it ex video
Thanks for the video...I have been looking for one for awhile. After this video...I decided to make one!
Very well done. Beautiful attention to detail. I am going to find an old ax head and make a pickeroon myself. Thanks for the video.

Not only does it look great, but it is very functional too. Great job.

Many thanks to you sir for giving the inspiration to get back into making my own tools again.
Good detailed work
good work.
I'm glad you all enjoyed it!
Excellent job!
That looks awesome
Way better than anything you could have bought. I wish my father were still alive to let him enjoy this video.
I bought a Hookaroon from Council Tool Lake Waccamaw NC and I cannot imagine not having it. By far the best tool I have ever owned. My back is happy again.
Absolutely first class! Turned a $10 axe into a piece of art! Great tutorial too... Thanks for sharing! 👍👍👍👍👍
That is the work of a true craftsman
worked with picaroons for years this one is a keeper
nice job
Great job and nice craftsmanship! Pay no attention to the small percentage of RUclips twits who always have to have some criticism of someone else's project. I'm convinced those jerks have never made anything. Anyone who has ever crafted a project knows that there are many pauses, reflections, re-assessments, re-groupings and then forging ahead again as new ideas come up and the project moves forward. As Wranglerstar said, "You've done yourself proud" and you have something you can pass down to the next generation! Function and beauty in the same tool! Can't ask for more than that. Well done!
Very good loocking tool. Nice touch with the roll pin.
I really like this pickaroon. We'll done.

Wow. Amazing job.
nice work Mr....!!
Excellent work. Very well built
I think that was brilliant. What a fantastic job, and if I may say, much better that the expensive offerings on eBay. You should consider selling them. And for those that think this is a worthless tool, this would be invaluable to someone like me with a bad back. I've watched that video a couple of times now. I love it. Good job!
