WOW, I really appreciate all of the comments, I am currently working on a few more video projects to be hopefully finished soon time permitting. Just a question would anyone like to see more viking style mods? I ask because i have an old messed up Hewing axe that i have been debating dicing up into something wicked. Anyone interested in seing a video of that?

I think you have done wonderful job on this axe. I am acquainted with a blacksmith who actually forges this type of axe head in a traditional manner and I have to say that for a home hobbiest, you have made something very nice. I really like the fact that this would be something that would actually hold up in it's intended use, because of the basic axe head you started with and the really stout handle you have fabricated. Not that I would hope it would ever be used as a weapon, it is just nice that it could, as opposed to some home hobbiests who put together items like tomahawks made from railroad spikes, which could never be functional. You have a nice array of tools as well, it was great to see someone using a drawknife and spokeshave and that they were actually sharp enough to cut.

Somewhere in a graveyard in Norway or Sweden: "Bjorn, BJORN, wake up you sleepy dog. Look it vat za man is doink in za shop. He is yust as good as yer brudder Olaf, and he's not half da fat. Bjorn says, "Yah, he really knows vat he is doink. Ve vill have to stop der some day. In da meantime, Regvold, ve must sleep." Yah, Bjorn" says Regvold, ve must sleep." Really great craftsmanship. Looks very authentic. Great video thanks.

The good thing I found out when you reduce the weight of the axe head, its no good for chopping trees anymore but much handier for small work. I put a 3 ft. handle on a small hatchet head and even that makes it a better tool.

Great job Nick. Its super that you are inspiring others and showing that you do not need an entire shop with every tool. Seeing your other hobbies I know these 'balance' fools don't bother you. A weapon is not a wood cutter and they prob couldn't hit the same spot twice anyway. At 50 now, I have many tools but recall the days of figuring out how to make it with what I had. Why? because I wanted to. If people don't understand that, they won't. Keep on!
