original video - • Barry Sanders Top 50 M...
barry sanders reaction. barry sanders is a beast. barry sanders 50 most ridiculous plays. barry sanders.
#nfl
#barrysanders
What was great about Barry was after he scored, he simply gave the ball to the official and went back to the sideline with his teammates.
What a man
He did it with class.
Greatest running back of all time. Not debatable.
Saw him play live here in detroit. He is not human. We held our breath every time he touched the ball.
Even opposing team's offensive players didn't sit to rest when defense was on the field. They stood and watched Barry because they didn't want to miss anything.
You got to see him play live aswel?? I bet that was unbelievable
absolutely despised barry sanders (i lived in minn and we had to play him all the time)
@@grafyte2003 His "best runs" were his 5 yd gains that shoulda been 2yd losses. They blow my mind. Like this one against your Vikings..

@grafyte2003 😂😂😂
@nathan Lawson I’ll check it out man thanks 👍🏻
8:50 Gotta love the confidence Rodney Peete had in Barry...celebrating a TD when Barry is still 27 yards away from the end zone.
That’s how good he was, every touch had the chance to go the distance
Greatest running back of all time. He played for his fathers love and never really got it. Even at his hall of fame speech. His father called him number 2 of all time. His father dad always been a jim brown fan. Great reaction. Love from Downey, California
He got his Dad's love. That generation of Dad's just showed love differently. Doesn't mean they loved any more or any less.
@alex rojo thanks a lot man, appreciate it 👍🏻
defensives worst fears were being 1 vs 1 with barry in the open field, cus they knew they were going to be on a highlight reel, and not in the good way. also not mentioned much about barry was the fact he very seldomly fumbled the ball. he had excellent ball control
More likely to be on the bloopers reel 😂
Barry Sanders was 5 feet 8 inches tall & he had a long smooth stride for someone with that hight & he ran a 40 yard dash in 4.34 seconds .
Unreal man, the size of his legs, so powerful
He's actually closer to 5'5 - 5'6. I stood right shoulder to shoulder with him once and I towered over him. I'm 5'9, and he barely came up to my chin.
@nathan Lawson, haha serious? That’s mad
In 1988, I saw him play a college game against a very good team from the University of Nebraska.
His statistics were preposterous. For frame of reference (for the benefit of British fans who don't know the game well), a very good day for a college running back may look like this:
25 attempts
150 yards gained (average 6 yards/attempt)
2 touchdowns
Barry's stat line looked like this:
34 attempts
366 yards gained (10.74 yards/attempt)
6 touchdowns
His team actually lost by three touchdowns... Like I said, that was a very good Nebraska team. It was nevertheless, the most ridiculous display of sustained athleticism I've ever seen. At the game's conclusion, Sanders received a full throated standing ovation from 80,000 Nebraska fans who all knew they had just watched a legend at the top of his form.
Mannnn then stats are unbelievable. that’s when you know you’ve seen a good player, if the opposition fans a clapping him aswel, unreal 👍🏻
He was the bestsest, most enjoyablest dude to watch!
There could literally be a Part Two that would rival 80% of these runs. 👍
Hahaa serious?? I’ll have to look out for a part 2 then man 👍🏻 beasttt
@@meactions9373 ,
The man was “worth the price of admission” while much of the rest of the team made you want to demand hazard pay to watch ‘em.
He played in about 160 games and about three times a game he’d do something that *no one on the planet* could do but him.
Just one them exciting, exciting athletes and the Supercalifragilitic-est of ALL TIME! 😜
@darmesis yeahhh I bet he was so good to watch live, you’re lucky you got to see such a good player man, looked unreal 👍🏻
I’m a Lions fan, grew up watching him. He is the best to ever do it. I did get to see him live in one game, that the Lions lost(they weren’t good for a long time, glad that’s changed), and we still love him! During the draft in Detroit, he was one of the personalities that helped open the draft, and the entire crowd was chanting his name!
I love Barry, but two words: Jim Brown.
I used to watch him every week, as a Detroit native. He was unreal. That last run against Dallas... it's hard to see here, but when he breaks out of the pile, one Dallas player is literally standing there as Barry runs past him, well within reach. I remember watching it live, and not understanding how he escaped.
Three other thoughts: He wasn't that incredibly fast by NFL standards, he was elusive. He could change directions incredibly quickly, so they couldn't get a good hit on him. Some say he retired early because he knew that as he got older he'd get slower, and the hits would pile up.
Also, one of his blockers mentioned once how hard he was to protect: a hole opens and closes in a split second, and Barry would often dance around, rather than just plowing in. So the hole would close before he got through. So he was not a great runner in short yardage situations... he often got tackled behind the line, while Emmett Smith would just pound into the hole, and gain a yard or two. Different styles, and that's why it's tough to debate who was "better".
Finally, I remember reading that when his peewee team had their first game, his parents chose to watch his older brother's game on another field. They figured he was 9, and had never played before, so he'd barely see the field. Someone came running over to get them, because he was tearing it up. So even at that age, nobody could catch him. Sadly, I think he played football because he was so incredibly talented at it, and not because he enjoyed it that much.
Thanks a lot man, I appreciate it, specially the last paragraph, I could just imagine him as a youngen running rings around people. So powerful and low centre of gravity, would be so hard to play against
Barry was the best running back to ever play... and he was in our (Packers) division so we played him 2x per year. He had the best moves, acceleration, vision and power of any Rb in my lifetime (1984). No one besides Michael Vick has ever accelerated like him.
Haha I can believe it man, I’ll have to check out Mike vick aswel 👍🏻 thanks man
As a non-Lions football fan in the 80's, there were no, more dreaded words to hear, than "Draw to Sanders".
Sanders was 5'8, 91 kg. He retired in 1998. He played for my team, the Detroit Lions.
God damn that’s heavy for that height, he was solid, I’m 6 foot and about 92kg
I know, pure muscle too.
@nathan Lawson, haha serious?? Yeah man them thighs are a joke
@@meactions9373 supposedly he used squat 500 lbs after games. In the history of the NFL NO ONE has had his level of agility.
@eric canfield after games? That’s madness
I never thought about it before, but Messi is the perfect comparison; the shiftiness and pace.
when i was growing up Nike had a shoe comercial congratulating a defensive player for being able to open field tackle barry by himself!! true story!!! he was that good!!!!
Hahahaa no way man? That’s how you know he’s good
defensives worst fears were being 1 vs 1 with barry in the open field, cus they knew they were going to be on a highlight reel, and not in the good way
@burns on the bloopers reel 😂
Barry Sanders is the Greatest Runningback in Pro Football History. Everything you just watched was Sanders operating behind the Worst offensive line in football. He was only able to move the ball because of his ability to change directions when the holes closed
You want to see records just get annihilated , watch his college highlights. He avereged 246 rushing yards per game , over 300 all purpose yards per game and 3.4 TDs per game, by himself ! Yes you read that right.
Did I mention that he put up those numbers in 11 games and sat out the 4th quarter in 8 out of those 11 games. Incredible.
Realistically Barry Sanders is the greatest NFL Football player of all times!!
If interested I’ll explain why!
Please do, he looks unreal
@@meactions9373
He shattered almost every offensive RB statistics and retired just 1-2 seasons away from the all time rushing record while simultaneously playing for a team that was below 500 and one of the worst offensive lines blocking for him his ENTIRE career!
He retired because he wanted to play for a team that was a Super Bowl contender and the Lions refused so he retired early out of spite!!
GOAT….
@@BILLEON2005
You did a great job explaining but I still don't think that fully covers why he was so magnificent. Truly... one of a kind.
@buster cherry is there anyone like him playing now a days??
Sanders quit with a lot of gas in the tank. He could have broken every RB record in existance but that oboviously never mattered to him.
Sanders was amazing. Walter Payton was even better. When Sanders retired he was one seasonfrom breaking Payton's rushing record for most yards in a career.
Yeah they both loooked unreal man, no way was he?? Did he retire because of injury or just getting too old?
@@meactions9373 Barry? I think he retired because he just didn't want to play anymore. Especially for a Lions team that was never gonna win. They had a decent QB, Barry, 3 wide receivers who were top tier, a decent defense, decent O-line.... and yet still couldn't win. Been that way for 30+ years in Detroit.
Check out Walter Payton ! Held the NFL record for most career yrds, 16,726.. And did this on a bad team . Another old school RB like Barry 👍
Yeeeee man I’ll check him out for sure 👍🏻
Dude the 85 Bears is considered the greatest NFL Team in history!!
@@BILLEON2005 Well considered the best defense, 85 bears . But for most of Payton's career the bears were terrible.
Nothing but love & respect for Walter Payton, but most people agree **nobody** moved like Barry... period.
Blessed.2.teach.4.god yeahhh man Barry is ridiculous the way he movessss
Sanders retired in 1999.
Ya, 5 foot 8 inches of sensational skill
These aren’t even Barry’s best runs. Highlight reels pick the TD runs and big yardage plays, but most of Barry’s best runs went for 5-10 yards.
8:46 Plays like this would happen five times a game where Barry would get hit behind the line of scrimmage and somehow recover.
I’ll try and find another Barry video with more runs, so exciting man, thanks 👍🏻
@@meactions9373 Go to minute 8-06 of this video:

It’s very rare that you can find a highlight like this because the run only goes for a one yard loss. but that’s an example of the kind of run that was routine for Barry.
4:10 Running Back
Thanks man, what a beast 💪🏻
Paid good money to see him. Twice. 11/10 would spend good money again.
Barry was a running back
He’s a unit
