    I think I get the clamshell. I tried it with a red Theraband tying my knees together. That seemed to increase low-back tension, at least a small amount.

      Ideally you shouldn't have tension in the lower back when doing the clamshell. Mostly you should feel it in your glutes and abdominals.

    Thank you, I suffer a lot many years with back and legs pains, walking is hard for me even a short distance
