When you get jumped by a mob and have to escape to extraction while an entire army chases you, that 2 minute extraction timer is like a lifetime. It's so intense and so much fun.
15:27 If you walk through deep snow, and another player walks behind you, the other player will be moving a lot faster because you already made a breach for them to walk in. There are a lot of those systems at work in this game and I LOVE it! 😁
Fun fact: The music is composed by Wilbert Roget II who worked on Destiny 2: Forsaken! Most notably the Vault encounter theme for the Last Wish Raid “Watchtower” 😍
A positive note for the premium pass, you get enough super credits from the standard track to get the premium pass and the pass never goes away, ever. It will still be here 2 years later.
@PanoptesDreams i left those traitors behind when I sign up to be a helldiver that was six months ago I finally finished basic training and will be deploying in 3 day.... FOR SUPER EARTH!!!
Im genuinely so glad helldivers 2 blew up, reminds me a lot of Risk of rain 2! Both of these games never really got the attention they deserved, then they randomly drop a sequel that absolutely knocks it out of the park.
@@chillhour6155that's, the single most horrible take I have seen in a while lmao *Some* streams were paid, but a lot of streamers played it out of their own volition and loved it, for example Moistcritikal. He saw the game on the PlayStation state of play (like most people including me) and he was interested from there. So when the game released he played it for his entire stream that night and had nothing but good things to say about the game. Not just that the game itself was #25 most wishlisted game on steam. And as of right now the game has 132k active in-game players. The game is good.
@@chillhour6155that is such an awful take, the game was #25 most wishlisted game on steam, multiple top streamers played the game out of own personal interest after seeing it in the PlayStation state of play. The game literally has 132k active players, the game is good plain and simple.
Just a note: There are other armors available outside of the premium warbond that have the exact same passives and combinations of passives. Check the “superstore” every day for a chance to use far-fewer super credits on two different sets of armor. On the other side of this: the incendiary grenade SLAPS 😂
Yeah. This game is NOT pay to win. Faaaar from it. Everything can be gained by playing, and no armours in the credit shop (so far) has had any unique passives not present on free armours.
Yep, the main warbond gives you all the armor varients. Everything outside of that are just skins of those varients. I don't know how so many content creators are missing this and spreading so much misinformation.
@@F34RDSoldier805 Mostly because they don't look through the entire battle pass list. I didn't at first either, because they were too far down the line to matter. When I went back and checked (trying to plot out some unlocks) I came to that realization things were duped up. But that lead to a new irk; some of the stats I want are on color schemes I don't like. Second thing I noticed is that the Veteran weapons.... are not that good. Differences are either marginal, or the special effects don't do much on their own. Like the explosive rifle isn't actually any kind of raw DPS increase, but its actual effects are still heavily debated. IE: the game doesn't explain them, and the internet doesn't have an answer yet. I keep getting told the Revolver is armor piercing, but it has no effect on heavy armor. The AtMat-Rifle has a similar problem, where its visibly bouncing off heavy armor; making it hard to understand what its meant to counter. (Btw, it works on objects, so it has that going for it). Armor and weak spots on enemies can be hard to understand as well, short of trial and error. The game doesn't explain this well directly, so I'm assuming this supposed to be a community knowledge thing. So until you get to the higher levels, and full on research under the hood weapon data, the premium pass weapons are useless in the hands of the average player.
I went into a "normal difficulty" match against the Robots with a friend.. and let me tell you I have never been more terrified in my life felt like I was in D day. I had Terminators coming from all directions and I was laying in a ditch in the ground whilst red bullets just fly over my skull. We died 5 minutes in and felt like an hour. What a game
Some neat stuff I like about Helldivers 2 - Buildings and terrain pieces like rocks and stuff are destructible. It isn't total environmental destructibility, but it is impactful in that a wellplaced airstrike in some ruined buildings can give your squad some much needed line of sight - especially if you're throwing down a few sentry guns. It adds a sense of dynamism to the map, watching a building get levelled, or a nice rock you were using for cover disappearing. - The fact that the barrel of your gun doesn't line up exactly with your aim is very cool. It feels like you're actually aiming the gun, fighting against it's recoil without the struggle of pulling your camera against the recoil. - The toggle options for guns - if you HOLD down the reload button, a menu will appear for your current gun, enabling you to change some of the gun's specs or performance. You can toggle your flashlight, change the RPM of machine guns, change the range for your sights... - The friendly fire - it forces you to actually play strategically. You can't just blind fire whenever you see enemies, you have to work with your team to not blow each other away. It enforces tactical thinking, keeps you on your A-game and engaged with the game. You can't just tuen out as you rampage through bugs, you need to make sure your teammates don't hate you! Tangentially related, but Sentry guns DO NOT CARE if you are in front of them when they start firing. GET ON THE GROUND CADET. You gotta think about where you're throwing your Stratagems. - Stratagems have so much variety, and the special "code" for each one adds that extra layer of tension. In the middle of a firefight, are you going to be able to keep your cool well enough to bring down an airstrike? It also means that the devs were able to have EIGHT different calldowns - because each stratagem has a unique code, the devs were able to make it so that players could have many options without it being overpowered - powerful stratagems have long codes, and a single mistake means you have to spend precious seconds that you cant really afford in a firefight retrying the stratagem code. - Support equipment not being part of the default loadout is actually a really nice touch - players can't just run the most OP gear all the time - if they get careless and die, they will respawn sure - but without their gear. They can try and go get it back - it's just on the other side of this horde of bugs. "what's that? You don't have the necessary firepower available now to fight your way through the bugs? TOUGH SHIT CADET, WAIT FOR YOUR COOLDOWNS WHILE YOU RUN AWAY LIKE A COMMUNIST COWARD" Players are allowed to have strong builds, while still maintaining the threat of death. - Stratagems must be THROWN. It means players need to try and get a high ground advantage for longer range airstrikes, or get up close and risk triggering the horde and wasting an airstrike on a mostly empty area (I save my airstrikes for nuking bug dens)
mine was the replayability of the game - hub-like openworld extraction element that lets you tackle your own task (it means a lot since the genre has been linear) - and still has AI director
I love the sheer amount of attention to detail in this game. Ships warping in when people join your party. The ships staying together as you warp in 'real time'. The nuke blasts. YOUR ship deploying YOUR strategems and YOUR eagle coming in for covering fire and bombing runs. I am totally happy with the base game, but I can't wait for more!
Something to note is, the premium armors have the same effects as some free ones, so really it's just a cosmetic option if you don't like the free versions. And the premium weapons are modified versions of free ones that in my view aren't really that good. Plus the free warbond plus some grinding can get you enough supercredits to buy premium anyway. I don't like that there's a paid warbond in an already payed game, but at least they're able to be grinded for and permanent.
Yeah like the flame shotgun has almost the same stats as the normal mag shotgun, except it has generally les dmg and just some flame rounds. Like the line for "pay to win" is very smudgy atm, but it does have the capability to be there if the devs so choose
Agreed, the "Pay to Win" mentality in this really is a none issue. Its mostly "Do you want this armor that has a mech arm? If not, then dont worry about it and get the other one that has the same buff." The only premium battle pass gun I want really is that Dominator on the third page because it has medium armor pen and I want to see if that actually matters when most of the other weapons I have right now are only light armor pen.
@@LithNeo Generally, not really. Medium armor is annoying, but it's not like heavy armor where you are completely screwed if you don't have anti-tank weaponry.
the medium pen feels almost entirely negligible. It allows you to not ricochet rounds against certain units on parts you previously would have but at that point you'd be better off smacking the thing in the face with an autocannon or something of the like as the damage you deal by pen'ing through isn't enough to warrant using it. @@LithNeo
Was about to make this same comment, free warbond gives you 750 supercredits in total and that last 250 is fully grindable Im Level 8 atm with maybe 15 hours in so far, and i think ive gained around 130 Super Credits from pickups in mission, it is not a tough grind
Also, super credits are very easy to find in missions. You’re gonna go through the free pass for the weapons anyways, so you can buy the premium pass if you want to.
@@rpglover101 I bought 2100 super credits™ to support arrowhead, and after buying 3 armor sets and playing about 30 hours I have... 2195 super credits™ LOL
Exactly, just press "ITEM INFO" and you can see it. Not sure why those stats are not shown by default but hidden behind one press of a button, there's enough screen space for it.
Just bought it because of the positive coverage. I may not even play it, but i will support devs that are still trying to keep gaming what it is supposed to be. FUN!
@mahesamotivations its not an anti virus its an anti cheat, people dont like as it as its intrusive but if you arent using cheats then you shouldnt have anything to worry about
HDII does an impeccable job of making you feel expendable, and part of something greater. You're just a lackey blindly following the flag of freedom, and the sense of comradery is so subtle but there is nothing in gaming like just posting up in the face of a horde and watching 4 streams of rounds eviscerate everything on the other side of my cross hair is just pure dopamine. I feel like this game has an RP-esque vibe, similar to DRG, instead of rock and stone, we scream "FREEEEEDOOOOOOOOOMMMM" while mag dumping LMGs
The armor in the free pass also have buffs. Not to mention if you have a day off just play the game, use your medals to buy super credits, keep an eye out for super credit, on the map... you'll have enough by the end of the day to buy the BP. I mean it's honestly one of the best versions of a BP I've seen in a bit
@LightAura yeah every page in the BP has 100sc you can buy. When you are out on a mission any blinking yellow line of light and garage door(need a rocket luncher to blow up) has a chance to also give you 10sc. sometimes multiple stacks can be found in the garage. I played for maybe 5 hours on Saturday and made it to 800sc, and you need 1000sc for the BP. You can also find medals in these, which can be used to buy more guns, armors, and emotes, along with 100sc per page. To maximize on this, I recommend on level 4 and lower mission break off into groups of 2 to cover more ground before the massive hoards start showing up Edit: also same apply to the big doors that need 2 ppl to open them
I really hate microtransactions and the battle pass plague overall, but indeed they did it well in here, above all that you mentioned, they're permanently available in the game, which is one of the worst issues with regular battle passes, they're temporary, transforming your fun into a chore/job/work. So yeah, the least worst so far, probably.
I don't think i've been addicted to a game like this in a good while. Maybe since the launch of D1 or BO2. Like i'm at work just thinking about going home and squashing bugs with my squad and spreading democracy. It has suprising depth and it's actually criminal how good the combat feels. You see and feel the impact of every bullet reflected on the enemies. It reminds me of how destiny just has this inner core of near perfect gunplay combined with statisfying feedback from hitting your enemies. The strategems are a real showstealer and they went all out. Besides the server issues, the game is actually super polished as well and the monetization is imo very fair. Easily one of the best co-op or even mp games i've played the last decade. As soon as the server stability has been fixed this game is probably the easiest recommendation/pick up i've played.
😂😂😂 Cross... Man I couldn't make this up.. I'm in a general building bathroom taking a 💩, listening to this video out loud. A guy comes in and goes, washes his hands. He must have been listening because he yells "hey man, what game is that??" And I returned "Helldivers 2, guy named Aztecross" he goes "imma have to check that out!" 😂😂😂
@@爪丂乇尺爪卂几lol as stated by the devs themselves, the issues are not solved, they're just a little better than before and they're gonna work on it more in a few hours after they sleep
bruh the hard level automaton missions gave me and my friends ptsd. one of the only games that actually feels like youre on a battlefield fighting a big ass war
@mahesamotivations well the funny thing is the people complaining have no problems playing games that run EAC, Vanguard, punkbuster, etc and they're all kernel level anticheat as well. Almost every major anticheat is now kernel-level.
If they expand this game, it will probably be with the third faction they left out from the first Helldivers: The aliens called the Illuminate. They're essentially "Legally Distinct Protoss/Tau".
Thank you for acknowledging you can find premium currency in game during missions. I’ve seen too many reviewers cry about this game having “bad MTX”. You don’t have to spend a dime outside the initial purchase. Just play the game and have fun like we used
IMO this game is really fair with mtx. You literally can't buy much with real money, because you need to gather medals for the warbond anyway. So you either level the premium pass or the normal one. Also they don't expire. You can just wait until you gathered enough through missions/the normal pass and then do the premium one (assumong you even want the items in it).
And to add to that, the shop items are all less than $2 instead of $20 is amazing, too. You can play for like an hour or two and get an armor from the store lol
@@torvasdh That's the part that I respect. Shop items don't even go over $5 unlike most games where the cheapest item is like $10. Kinda love it when Microtransactions actually do mean "Micro" Transactions now.
@@PotatoWagon Yea, but now they're slowly creeping the prices upward :/ I didn't realize when I made the comment, but armor used to be like 125-200, and the newest set is 400.
About friendly fire: you also have people unwilling to use their eyes. Got this guy yesterday that kept walking in my bomb runs. Got 3 chargers following me, throw a bomb run in a direction that no one is in, takes 6 sec to arrive, and this guy on the clock walks in every time. He had the audacity to complain and he even quit after he walked in yet another bomb run. He was the ONLY guy that got hit by them in the whole team, no one else died by friendly fire.
Just to add as a tidbit, Don't let the timer stress you out. It literally is just a XP timer. As long as you complete the main objective and decide to go for the extra stuff, you can. If the timer runs out the extraction will auto begin giving you a timer to get to the ship. I did couple missions other day where the timer ran out, and the extraction ship still appears you just get 0 timer xp, but still get extraction xp if you still extract after the timer hits 0. The timer is also there to limit your strategems. it pretty much darkness mode when the timer runs out, you lose your revives and super abilities.
Uh, my brother when the timer runs out you lose your stratagems. So no air support, no resupply, no turrets, and no more lives. The timer absolutely should stress you out lol. I mean it doesn’t mean you Lose, but u should absolutely be aware of it.
Most players fights bugs for the longest while Then..: switch to the machine menace to fight. “oh lawd their shooting back” gets rocketed by that single lucky cyborg
Thing about a game like this is the gameplay loop is so much fun. I played yesterday and had the bug where I wasn't getting any rewards after mission completion. Any other game, I would get frustrated and turn off right away. But not this game. I played 3 missions, one being my very first helldive into the Automaton region, and still had fun. I stopped after 3-4 games, but into those said games, i tried stratagems i normally dont take and found one i didn't know i needed. This game is one of those types where you forget about the end mission rewards and just have fun playing it.
The thing that sold the game for me was when we and my friends were doing an automaton mission on what we called "space vietnam" we were clearing enemies when all of a sudden a tank started attacking us. It was chaos and so much fun.
Don't get me wrong, I love Cross' destiny content, but I'm sure many will agree with me when I say that watching him become a variety gamer has been a really fun experience. Keep doing what your doing, love your content.
i saw this game like a week before release and was pretty hype. i really didnt think it would blow up so hard, im really happy for it (in some ways). cant wait to pick it up on my next paycheck
Btw, friendly fire damage is 100% the same as enemy damage. I know this because my friend is a sniper that takes vantage points on cliff faces and a Bile Titan was attacking us. I was using the Autocannon and took a single shot, it bounced off the Bile Titan's leg armor and decided my Friend's skull was a comfy home, ripping him to literal shreds
You can farm super creds on easy or trivial and check the mini map for images of structures, can farm a whole bunch per hour… it’s very quick to get 1000 creds than what the devs I think were originally intending this way haha. Once you know what images to look for you can spot an artillery station without a problem on the map without going over to it. Same goes for minor places of interest. You can also use grenades to blow open the blue or orange metal lockers you can find at minor places of interest, they normally contain creds and medals.
mtx never good just cause its "easy" to get items and currency game would always be better with a one and done purchase "ignoring it" isn't possible its always there
Personally, I don't see much tangible value in the premium stuff that would warrant it being pay to win. There's armor sets in the free warbond that have similar, if not the same level of buffs that the premium ones do. Some have even better ones that haven't made it to a premium set yet, like the scout armor that can ping the map and get radar scans. I feel the Pay to Win crowd is overreacting a little bit. The game is a blast. You could easily spend the 40 bucks for entry, and that's it. You'd never have to fork over another dollar. I like supporting what I like with some extra money. Not a ton, but the super credits to real money ratio makes it so that 20 bucks can take you a long way.
This is why I love live service games like this. Make an actually good game that favours both the ones willing to spend more money on it and those who aren't. They're even adding vehicles and mechs soon and might even bring in a new race to fight. There were 3 in the first game
I don't understand the people who would say it's pay to win. It isn't PVP and I haven't seen anything that is really better than what's available to those with the base game. You are part of a team and your load outs are personal preference and based on what you put your resources into.
@@Brother_O4TS Speaking of factions, I believe they've said that the Automatons and the Cyborgs (from the first game) are not the same faction. So we could possibly get the HD1 Cyborgs added too at some point.
i was always wondering years ago what would hell divers look like if it was first person shooter, and i be dammned 2024 i actually get to experience it
For comparison's sake, I achieved 1000 super credits after around 20 hours of play. Besides that, the armor in the store and premium battle pass have variations of the same armor that exist in the free pass, even with the same passive abilities. For the premium weapons I can't really say much besides that the revolver is okay, the explosive AR is worse than the regular AR and the incendiary shotgun feels very limited in its use since the spread is so high and its effective range is small.
I absolutely LOVE the fire shotgun !! I agree that the explosive AR is not that great though . But damn I love that fire shotgun ! And the sidearm I use is the machine pistol from the free warbond . That revolver from the paid warbond sucks especially because of the stupid reload time
As a HD 1 vet I CAN NOT WAIT TILL THEY RELEASE VECHICLE STRATEGEMS!!!! Mechs, motorcycle and side cart, tanks etc...im also hoping for a jeep or wart hog type car. Thats what will make traversal easier on the more bigger maps with multiple main objectives. For those new here. Trust me. These current issues we are seeing will get patched out and you will be happy with the final polish of the game once it gets into flow with devs. This game is amazing. Even with stress of all the technical stuff. You dont want to miss this one.
@MunitionsDudTester yep. Auto cannon makes quick work of armored guys. The chargers are a pain though. Played rodeo clown with 5 of them for like 15 minutes.
@@SGTBrownT The orbital railcannon + laser + spear makes quick work of them, but in the meantime the easiest way is to rocket them in a front leg then swap to your primary and shoot the now yellow-green spot for full damage and they'll normally die in a mag or less.
@@Bishop1664Speaking of random nukes (called hellbombs that you can call down in certain missions at certain sites), you can sometimes find unactivated ones under a charger corpse or on the map that you can use. You just shoot it a couple times from extreme range and run for dear life. You don't get a timer like you do when you call one down yourself and activate it. It blows in a few seconds, so be as far as you can. Or perhaps call in an orbital strike on it, that might help. But they can be invaluable when fighting a bile titan. Lure it on top of it, and perhaps self-sacrifice by shooting it while it's on top of you, and that bile bug's splatted. They'll surely hoist a statue in your name. o7
im having a blast in this game as a solo player, its crazy to me for a live service game this is the first time ive seen the microtransactions store at a reasonable price. 2 bucks for a outfit if you wanted to and its not even forced plus being able to earn the credits in game to buy store items is a huge win
You may want to touch on the armor benefits a bit more. Reason being that the scout armor is incredibly useful for helping your team know what's ahead. When pinging, you get a kind of UAV set of dots within a set distance of that ping. And so long as that ping is there, it'll keep showing enemies. Bigger ones will be bigger red dots, and smaller ones for smaller enemies. You can also use it to scout out where patrols are and inform your teammates of when some bugs or bots may be trying to flank you. Knowing where enemies are and what we may run into has helped my squad from getting caught with our democracy-filled pants down often.
Being able to get premium stuff without paying is enough for me to gloss over most monetization at launch, if it isn't fast enough I do expect a bit of an increase eventually, but if it's all achievable without paying I'm generally good
Nice review. About the micro Transaction, its not rly p2w because the whole team benefits of it. Sure u have good items but u help the team with that power. Besides 1000 credits is not that hard to farm.
I really hope Aztecross continues doing a few Helldivers videos here and there. I finally got fed up with Destiny 2 and quit completely as of last July I’ve been searching for another brutal PvE game so when Helldivers 2 finally dropped some buddies and I gave it a shot and so far love it. As somebody who has been watching Aztecross for years I kinda miss watching his content since I quit Destiny and really missed how genuinely hyped up he got about the content he makes. When I saw Helldivers 2 got his attention it was really awesome to see his genuine reaction to the game with the energy that he brings with himself, I really hope Aztecross keeps playing this game because Helldivers 2 gameplay and Aztecross are low key such a fire combo fr.
FYI the armor sets have a limited combo of special abilities, all of them are in the free pass, though locked behind a grind. There is a badass looking ODST armor as a twitch drop currently, gives the same boosts as the “Bonebreaker” armor on the free pass.
One thing about AI director behind the scene: if there is a director, it's not deciding to throw you drop ships and bug hole breach out of thin air. There are patrols that spots you, and if you don't eliminate them in time, they signal for reinforcements. These bring in drop ships and those holes with big dudes that makes your life miserable. I've had several missions where my team decided to go stealth, and unlike other "stealth" games, going stealthy actually is a legitimate, gameplay affecting strategy. We missed out on minor objectives, but we were able to handle the main ones and extract. Man, I love this game. I'm really happy to see this getting so much traction.
Something I feel like aztecross is misrepresenting is the fact that Super Credit farming is rather lenient in the game. It's really not only locked like he makes it sound out to be. Especially since you can't buy medals anyways. All armor set bonuses in the pass are obtainable in other armor sets. Also all passes are permenant, they'll never go away whether you buy it or not. So it's truly not as bad as he makes ot sound out to be
I would love some progress locked enemies, after so many major mission completions we get a third or fourth enemy. Also, I never understood "Pay to win" complaints in a PvE game, especially one without a leaderboard system. Even moreso with all of us working towards a common goal to get rewards. Like, "man, my TEAMMATE paid money in this game, now he has a negligible advantage that only affects me positively."
@Everlost_Nation it's ok, I used to feel smart correcting miniscule things in other people's vocabulary too, but then I realized the internet is filled with restarts, and I also fall into that category so yur good bro 👍🏽
This year? I think its one of the best games that's come out this decade. I haven't been this excited to log into a game after work each day since Destiny 1.
Helldivers 1 used the mini steam dlc method to sell strategems, weapons, and armor sets. I wouldn't be surprised to see that full array continued in the 2nd game with super credits given enough time
I appreciate you actually taking a nuanced stance on the MTX and saving it for the end of the vid. I was dissapointed in some of my fave creators making a rushed 10 min video ragging on the battlepass, having wrong info or CHOOSING to omit parts of the game like how you can earn creds in mission just for the sake of the outrage content. Lots of people in those vids just writing off the game because of it.
This game has the best MTX outlook on the market right now. Being able to earn premium currency for free is amazing. The store prices aren’t expensive and can all be earned, the super credit prices aren’t high at all either. The highest package being the same price as D2’s armor sets. The games price is pretty low for a game of this quality and honestly it’s worth way more. This game pulled me away from D2 and I’m gonna stay with it.
@@爪丂乇尺爪卂几they didn't fix it. The devs themselves said they improved it a bit by raising server rate limits and capacities but they still have a lot of work to do and will get back with it in a few hours after they sleep
When I first heard that there was going to be a Helldivers 2 I was installed stoked. I will say in the first game there were vehicles, like armor body suits with guns, and more. So I can only imagine there will be an update at some point to add in similar items to HD2. Great video! Just made me want to buy it even more than I already did before.
Thank you. As a player of the first game, while I'm happy the sequel is blowing up, it's a bit frustrating that a lot of people talk as if this game just dropped out of the ether despite the fact that except for going over the shoulder 3rd person, it's essentially the same game. Will say stealth is a viable option if ur solo. Hordes break out if you dont kill them before they call backup but avoid patrols or eliminating them before they call it does the shot.
I think it would be really interesting if they added split screen, couch co-op. Imagine if you were sitting next to a group of friends, screaming your heads off after accidentally killing each other!

Don’t forget the free war bond pass gives enough credits to buy the premium. Not including stuff you find in missions. Also the armor buffs are not unique. The same buff can be found on other armor.
Sadly it doesn't, it switches from 100 credits to 50 part way through, giving a total of 750 from the free pass. However you get credits pretty often from playing the game that will make up the rest.
This is not true. You get 750 from the free warbond and the premium costs 1000. Granted, you will have well over 1000 by the time you get the last SC claim in the free warbond.
Reason you survived dropping that supply pod on the bomb was the armor you're wearing. Its passive effect is to give you a 50/50 chance of surviving lethal damage. :) Great vid. :D

There is a free armor set on tier 4 or 5 that has the same perks as the one he mentioned at 18:37 from the Elite Bundle. They also give you a ton of free super credits on the free pass as well as in game pickups. Also the future DLC is going to be free... So take it for what it's worth.
The armor sets in the free pass has the same buffs in the paid pass so aside from the elemental weapons the armor buffs are null. Been loving this game tho I played the first game and fell in love then. I'm so happy to see helldivers 2 getting so much attention. Keep up the great work ❤
which still isn't great it'll always be better if the game didn't have macrotransactions in them no matter how "friendly" they appear they don't need it to continue updating the game, that's a industry lie
You’ve sold me on this game. I was looking for something other than destiny 2 to grind, seems it has gone cold. Thanks for making this review before I buy it.
The fact that when you shoot an engine on the dropship makes it go down is amazing. you HAVE to hit the engine to make it go down, if you it the middle or the bulk of it it won't do enough damage which is pretty awesome detail.
18:49 In hell divers 2, calling it pay-to-win doesn't make sense to most players. Sure, there are things you can buy that might give you an edge, but it's not like it ruins the game or anything. Most folks who actually play it don't really notice or care much about these advantages. The community as a whole thinks it's kind of silly when people say it's pay-to-win. It's more about having fun together than worrying about who's got what gear. If you also look at youre own channel clearly you play destiny and im 100% guarennted that you bought a few weapons or dlc that gave you an advantage. P.S i hope you do know that youre able to get premium currency to purchase the battle pass if you grind the free pass which isnt hard at all but actually fun. Look at all youre comments on the battlepass. it completely shows you what the fans think of it.
Every mission truly feels like a survival game you and your team will be slaying a horde in front on you and have another horde come behind you outta nowhere. I love it!
When you get jumped by a mob and have to escape to extraction while an entire army chases you, that 2 minute extraction timer is like a lifetime. It's so intense and so much fun.
Omg i just had that experience duo'ing on challenging difficulty! It was so doooope.
Those pounders though are stupid with their jump range
Hard mode is 4 minutes 😮
This is exactly what it feels like in Deep Rock Galactic, so I'm looking forward to a similar feeling in this!
Me and the boys had to do 4 min on Helldive with no stratagems.

A positive note for the premium pass, you get enough super credits from the standard track to get the premium pass and the pass never goes away, ever. It will still be here 2 years later.
Yep they said they will add more battle-pass later which is exciting since you got thing to grind for
This is how I always wanted Destiny to do it.. All the seasons and armors I never got :/ THAT I F*ING PAID FOR

Im genuinely so glad helldivers 2 blew up, reminds me a lot of Risk of rain 2! Both of these games never really got the attention they deserved, then they randomly drop a sequel that absolutely knocks it out of the park.
And they both add a dimension, lol
It only blew up because all the popular streamers were paid to cellectively promote it
@@chillhour6155that's, the single most horrible take I have seen in a while lmao
*Some* streams were paid, but a lot of streamers played it out of their own volition and loved it, for example Moistcritikal.

Just a note:
There are other armors available outside of the premium warbond that have the exact same passives and combinations of passives.
So until you get to the higher levels, and full on research under the hood weapon data, the premium pass weapons are useless in the hands of the average player.
the game is generous and accessible for a liveservie game, the grind even felt like WWZ and DRG.
Fun fact: the water on some worlds will get rid of most blood and liquids that are stuck on your armor
Which in turn reduces your chances to be sniffed out by the Aliens and Terminators.
@@rashidhuminefuck that’s so cool, working today and servers were full yesterday but looking forward to finally trying this out!
What a game
Some neat stuff I like about Helldivers 2
- Buildings and terrain pieces like rocks and stuff are destructible.
Did you write this comment yourself or did you copy and paste it? Either way great information

@@LithNeo
Was about to make this same comment, free warbond gives you 750 supercredits in total and that last 250 is fully grindable
Im Level 8 atm with maybe 15 hours in so far, and i think ive gained around 130 Super Credits from pickups in mission, it is not a tough grind
All the armor perks that are available in pay shops are also available in the free warbond
Also, super credits are very easy to find in missions. You’re gonna go through the free pass for the weapons anyways, so you can buy the premium pass if you want to.

Wait, you can buy Super Credits with medals?
@LightAura yeah every page in the BP has 100sc you can buy. When you are out on a mission any blinking yellow line of light and garage door(need a rocket luncher to blow up) has a chance to also give you 10sc. sometimes multiple stacks can be found in the garage. I played for maybe 5 hours on Saturday and made it to 800sc, and you need 1000sc for the BP. You can also find medals in these, which can be used to buy more guns, armors, and emotes, along with 100sc per page. To maximize on this, I recommend on level 4 and lower mission break off into groups of 2 to cover more ground before the massive hoards start showing up
Edit: also same apply to the big doors that need 2 ppl to open them
@@randalrickens6924 Awesome. Thanks man
@@randalrickens6924it the 100sc turns into 50sc at some point in the warbond

@mahesamotivations well the funny thing is the people complaining have no problems playing games that run EAC, Vanguard, punkbuster, etc and they're all kernel level anticheat as well. Almost every major anticheat is now kernel-level.
The jump pack makes fighting bugs so much easier. You're basically a Mandalorian.
If they expand this game, it will probably be with the third faction they left out from the first Helldivers: The aliens called the Illuminate. They're essentially "Legally Distinct Protoss/Tau".
I thought they were Legally Distinct Covenant

He had the audacity to complain and he even quit after he walked in yet another bomb run. He was the ONLY guy that got hit by them in the whole team, no one else died by friendly fire.
beautiful helldiver story :') keep fighting for DEMOCRACY soldier!
I can't wait to install a mod that changes my armor into ODST armor. Helljumpers!

This game is one of those types where you forget about the end mission rewards and just have fun playing it.
the gamers want more coop games and this shows
The thing that sold the game for me was when we and my friends were doing an automaton mission on what we called "space vietnam" we were clearing enemies when all of a sudden a tank started attacking us. It was chaos and so much fun.
Helldivers 2 feels more Starship Troopers, than Starship Troopers..and i love it.

You can also use grenades to blow open the blue or orange metal lockers you can find at minor places of interest, they normally contain creds and medals.
mtx never good just cause its "easy" to get items and currency
game would always be better with a one and done purchase
"ignoring it" isn't possible its always there
Personally, I don't see much tangible value in the premium stuff that would warrant it being pay to win.
This. People are *WAY* too eager to denounce the game because of "pay to win" and "premium battlepass" being thrown around, when it really isn't that.

The devs can actively intervene during matches like a game master, & up the stakes. Game was table top based & they didn't want to lose that ascetic.
They also intervened from people complaining about armored enemies and unlocked the railgun strategem for everyone for about 24 hours yesterday lol
Me and my friends have noticed random nukes or maybe 500 pound bombs landing on hordes before, could that have been dev intervention? 🤔
How is the solo experience? Im really interested in it but I'll prolly play solo
Friendly fire NEEDS to exist. In my opinion.
Knowing where enemies are and what we may run into has helped my squad from getting caught with our democracy-filled pants down often.
i love how challenging is CHALLENGING. im scared for the harder difficulties😭
It's always nice to randomly find your videos when I'm searching for a game. Haven't played destiny in many years.

Yuuuup, I bought 2100 credits to support the game and after buying 3 armor sets and playing about 30 hours I have 2195 SC lol

I deleted Destiny 2 to make room for Helldivers and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
Love the video .
best game for the beginning 2024 in my opinion
Reminds me so much of WarHammer!
Warhammer*
I’m sorry…
@Everlost_Nation it's ok, I used to feel smart correcting miniscule things in other people's vocabulary too, but then I realized the internet is filled with restarts, and I also fall into that category so yur good bro 👍🏽
@@RafelJaggai it wasn’t about feeling smart, it’s actually Warhammer, technically it should be all caps, but the franchise name is *Warhammer.*
@@RafelJaggai or fantasy because fantasy came before 40K
By far the best summary I have seen on this game. Have it downloaded on Steam, cant wait to jump in! Subscribed.
This year? I think its one of the best games that's come out this decade. I haven't been this excited to log into a game after work each day since Destiny 1.
Dude, same. The urge to spread democracy just corrodes your mind.
Aii chill bro lmao, best game of the DECADE?! Glazing is crazy.
"ONE OF" And those words hold up. Mostly shit has been releasing for the last 10 and that is a fact.@@zeeksy6276
Helldivers 1 used the mini steam dlc method to sell strategems, weapons, and armor sets. I wouldn't be surprised to see that full array continued in the 2nd game with super credits given enough time
Papa Sony gotta get that money somehow lol
Go back and try the first one, too.
I second this put hundreds of hours into the first and it's still good
I appreciate you actually taking a nuanced stance on the MTX and saving it for the end of the vid. I was dissapointed in some of my fave creators making a rushed 10 min video ragging on the battlepass, having wrong info or CHOOSING to omit parts of the game like how you can earn creds in mission just for the sake of the outrage content. Lots of people in those vids just writing off the game because of it.
It's definitely amazing when it works. Hopefully, an offfline mode comes down the line with AI teammates for single-player.
I want to get this but as a solo player I know it be difficult and I heard the matchmaking is broken atm so I wait till that's fixed
They literally just fixed it 1 hour ago I can join games on quickplay and random players will join your game this game will blow up soon even more
@@爪丂乇尺爪卂几they didn't fix it. The devs themselves said they improved it a bit by raising server rate limits and capacities but they still have a lot of work to do and will get back with it in a few hours after they sleep
I'm a solo players that plays with randoms. It's doable and I've made it extreme difficulty that way
When I first heard that there was going to be a Helldivers 2 I was installed stoked. I will say in the first game there were vehicles, like armor body suits with guns, and more. So I can only imagine there will be an update at some point to add in similar items to HD2. Great video! Just made me want to buy it even more than I already did before.
If you played the first one you knew the sequel would be a hitter
Thank you. As a player of the first game, while I'm happy the sequel is blowing up, it's a bit frustrating that a lot of people talk as if this game just dropped out of the ether despite the fact that except for going over the shoulder 3rd person, it's essentially the same game.
Helldivers was always fantastic.
@@hianthat's so weird, why would you be frustrated at that? Did you work on the first game or have a stake in it? Why so emotionally invested 😂
@@regulator18E
How you walked away from "a bit frustrated" making an assumption about being very emotional invested is beyond me, but whatever =P
@@hian I mean it still doesn't explain why you would care at all. It's like a weird kind of gatekeeping "durrr you guys didn't know about helldivers 1, you're not real fans"
Edit: and frustration is an emotion, showing you have emotional investment into it. Logic hard much?
@@regulator18E
It seems like you're way more emotionally invested here since you're the one sperging out making weird assumptions about gate-keeping, incredulous leaps and finding it hard to wrap your mind around finding it unfortunate that not more people appreciated a really good game back in its day of relevance.
Logic much? How about learn English and make fewer assumptions?
Will say stealth is a viable option if ur solo. Hordes break out if you dont kill them before they call backup but avoid patrols or eliminating them before they call it does the shot.
Friendly fire is like...80% of the battle in these missions lol. I'm already running into trolls
I genuinely hope cross does more Helldivers 2 content man. This game is fucking sick
I think it would be really interesting if they added split screen, couch co-op. Imagine if you were sitting next to a group of friends, screaming your heads off after accidentally killing each other!
Don’t think Sony wants split screen any more, read somewhere they think it’ll hurt console sales.
Split screen is good but in these days thats not good for the companies😊
I love right as the scene cuts from the green planet at 1:27 there’s a bombshell about to hit him 🤣🤣
If they got the lethal company proximity chat, this game would be godly
As a small streamer im proud you made a review on this video!!! You influence ppl to play these games that ppl are scared to give a chance. I told my friends this game might be fire & it definitely is!!! 🔥 🔥 🔥
Great vid. :D
the reason you survived the nuke is because the deluxe edition armor has a 50% to save you from lethal damage.
JARROD STRAIGHT RUNNING PAST COMMON SAMPLES AT 8:29 IS TREASONOUS
never heard of helldivers but i thought it was an rts of some sort (like command and conquer or something) but, this game has a boots on ground third person mode it just looks genuniely cool
When you start as a group of four and in the last 3 minutes everyone leaves randomly while you are stuck fighting 2 chargers 4 armored bugs 2 green ballon bugs trying to nade one last bug nest and have to run from one end of the entire map to the other to extract on the last ship out without any stratagems and you make it with literal 3 seconds while fighting forward with your gl auto shotty and everything behind you eating nades you throw at your feet…. Thank the devs for the guard dog I unlocked. It saved me 8 times just on the run back to the last ship. THREE SECONDS 😅 talking bout cutting it close on hard mode
Game so damn fun!
I absolutely love it when pro consumer games do well! I just hope it can hold the crowd as time goes on!
I’ve seen many reviews about this game.
But this one is up there among some of the best.
Well done soldier!
Great review! Made understanding what this game’s about easy. Subbed way back with destiny 2, stopped watching your d2 vids of late due to d2 getting boring. Still great to come back and be able to watch ur vids on other games!
Please do more content of this game. It's very fun to watch. You're having a blast playing it and it shows! GG
Keep up the great work ❤
which still isn't great
it'll always be better if the game didn't have macrotransactions in them no matter how "friendly" they appear
they don't need it to continue updating the game, that's a industry lie
You’ve sold me on this game. I was looking for something other than destiny 2 to grind, seems it has gone cold. Thanks for making this review before I buy it.
Community goals are a feature a lot of games don’t take advantage of anymore, but they really increase player engagement
The crazy thing is I can spend 40 minutes doing a mission and it feels like 15 or 20. It's so fun and engaging I love it
Every mission truly feels like a survival game you and your team will be slaying a horde in front on you and have another horde come behind you outta nowhere. I love it!
That random teammate with frag grenades is a bigger threat than a close range hellbomb
At this point I trust your game review more than most people on RUclips
Vehicles and mechs were a big part of the first game, so I'm honestly surprised they didn't add at least a few in this one.
Taking up with someone with an upgraded APC made the briefcase missions sooo much better
they will be adding vehicles@@burntninja450
