3:2324:0625:10 The 1976 Dallas Cowboys with the red stripe on their helmets in honor of the US Bicentennial year. At one point, deep in the 1976 NFL season, the Oakland Raiders and the Dallas Cowboys had the two best records in the league at 9-1-0. There was every reason to think we might just get an amazing Oakland-Dallas Stabler-Staubach matchup in the Super Bowl that year. But it was not to be. Oakland did get there and they won their first NFL world championship. But Dallas ended up falling a little short and not showing up to the big dance.

Over the years, at times (most of the time) it seemed to me that I was the ONLY person to be aware that "Ameerica's Team" came from an NFL season film. The Cowboys never made that claim. I saw that film when it debuted. I loved that moniker and loved that EVERYBODY else hated it. I was like, "Fukkoff (to the rest of) America, this is America's Team"(Whether you like it or not.) But it was all based on and around the amount of WINING that was going on for the better part of 2 -3 decades. I'll leave y'all with an even BETTER nickname. During that year of the first Super Bowl win under Jimmy Johnson, The Cowboys rolled into Los Angeles to play and beat the powerful L.A. Raiders. The L.A. Times columnist the next day, mockingly, called them "THE U.S. COWBOYS". I've been using it ever since, to piss off and incite the opposition. I hereby grant permissive use to all. Embrace "The U.S. Cowboys" when they roll into your town and help you party it down.

THEREFORE The COWBOYS are America's Team. 😦😫😕😵💫🥴😮💨

Cowboys" when they roll into your town and help you party it down.
nfc least had more staying power as a nickname for their division
god bless our dallas cowboys
Jayne Seymour is a pretty British girl, but she is nothing compared to the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders.
23:26 the pats?
Ummm Elvis Presley is what’s on the pats helmet. Take a closer look. There is nothing special about their helmets unless you love Elvis music.
America’s Team ⭐️✨🇺🇸
Already feel a 1,000 times more ‘Murican just by watching this 🏈🇺🇸⭐️
Aikman 8 summed it up best with that last line 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽 🇬🇧 🇵🇰
There's a reason Texas is know internationally more than most states.
Yes and it's not the Houston Texans
One reason Texas is known internationally is because of what happened in Dallas on November 22 1963
yea NASA, the Alamo and JFK getting shot is what put Texas on the map, tbh Cowboy games were probably rigged in the 70's so whenever someone mentioned Dallas they would think of the Cowboys instead of JFK.
Don't forget about Clint Longley on Thanksgiving Day 1974 that should be on here
No other teams logo is on the American flag 50 times. HOW 'BOUT THEM COWBOYS!
I cant stand the Cowboys.
It’s just a nickname. I still don’t understand why people get upset about it. Who cares.
Never forget, fan is short for fanatic. fa·nat·ic /fəˈnadik/ (noun) a person filled with excessive and single-minded zeal
I’m a cowboys fan and I used to not care about it, but the more people throw hate at it, the more I feel pride about it because my fan brain believes the hate comes from jealousy, but I can understand why people get rankled at it
Stop right dere! Lemme tell ya a lil story abaht America’s team-
Anyone have a clue what the theme song in the beginning is called? I know David Robidoux did it but these things never give the name of the score…
Let's hear the salty haters
Love how they don’t mention the fact that they wanted to call the Steelers America’s team first and Pittsburgh was like no we’re not America’s team where the Pittsburgh Steelers😂
Let's go Cowboys!!!!
"If the cowboys are Americas team then we are the world's team" Big Ben Roethlisberger
What does Big Ben have to with the Cowboys of the 70's
@@michaelleroy9281 nothin, he said that last season tho
🙄
That's so dumb
Dallas Cowboys' logic: Premise #1: Philadelphia was America's first capital; Premise #2: The Declaration of Independence was signed in Philadelphia; Premise # 3 The US Constitution was signed in Philadelphia; Premise # 4: The National symbol for America is the Bald EAGLE. THEREFORE The COWBOYS are America's Team. 😦😫😕😵💫🥴😮💨
Now going on 28 years of mediocrity
Dallas 40 Minnesota 15 Saturday December 28, 1996 wildcard round playoff game The last hurrah .......smh
Only fit as long as Staubach was QB. After that they might as well have been the raiders
I wouldn’t trade my lifetime of being a Dallas Cowboy fan for Nothing !
There original name was going to be the Dallas Rangers in 1960, it's not mentioned here look at old newspapers I never heard anything about Steers
lmao @9:44 ol' Marv (Bills head coach) trynna get a few words out in between NFC East beatdowns lol. Stfu homie
The New England Patriots are America's Team .
Bunch of haters!!! The Cowboys are America's Team. Go Cowboys!!!
Lions are the real America's Team
How can you still call yourself America's team when for the last decade you've been in the worst division in football and only made the playoffs 3 times and only won 2 playoff games this team won't be nothing until Jerry Jones steps down
No matter what there always gonna be America’s team
@@red-rum9303 I like how you pretty much admit that this team has been mediocre for so long but there still America's team I guess America is fine with being mediocre
@@trayisraw I really never admitted anything but okay, like I said no matter what they’ll always be America’s team, all because a random like you says they shouldn’t doesn’t make it true lol
@@red-rum9303 well then please explain to this random what makes it true then?
@@trayisraw you watching does numb nuts 🤣🤣 Americas team is in your head! God I swear the haters can’t even win this fight lol
Art Rooney turned the title down. After beating Dallas in super bowl X. Art Rooney to the nfl commissioner of the time “Pete, let me tell you something. We are not America’s Team. We are the Pittsburgh Steelers.''
I'm glad you wrote it, because I was. This video is 🐂💩, the Steelers have been a national fan favorite since they beat Da Raiders with The Immaculate Reception. There is not one mention in this video of the producers of NFL Films approaching Art Rooney first with the title America's Team.
Just recently, the Steelers played the Chargers in L. A, and it felt like a home game for the Steelers. There are Steeler Bars around the world, how about dem Cowboys, how many Cowboy bars are there? Enough said, or do I have to continue?
@@karlkilcrease51 Steeler nation!
@@karlkilcrease51 facts , I said the same the Steelers are America's team, but passed the on the title name, all they did was win 🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆
@@perryellis1423 Tied with the Patriots
@@michaelleroy9281 no the patriots tied with the Steelers lol
Unless They Cut It, Why Have Troy & Emmitt On Picture For Advertisment, They Won 3 Should Of Won 4 In A Row, As 1 Man In Documentary Says, " Makes No Sence" !!!!
Idc I will always love my cowboys
