Andrea, Just found your channel whilst looking to update my fuji camera...what a find... love your style both on photos taken and presentation of your channel.... wonderful .... What for me always makes a good channel ...is when I feel as though I am there with you... standing aside of you.... and thank you for taking me to the Dolomites... appreciate the time taken to make the video... and the narration is superb with loads of hints and tips thrown in... You have a really nice manner for sure... Thank you Andrea... cant wait to be taken with you on your next shoot... I am amazed that you only have 6.3k subs... as it should be 630k in my view... one of the channels on RUclips that needs more appreciation ...but please Andrea... dont let this out you off... as I am sure that with time, you will be up in the top 3 on RUclips... Yoki.. bravo...buona fortuna, my friend...

WOW!!! I'm blown away with these photos, my favorite photo was the one on the video at 13:23 , it was absolutely stunning. I actually found this video after looking thru You Tube for a LR tutorial on adding my photos in my external HD to LR. after using PS so long, I forgot how to use LR, & you taught me exactly what I needed to know. Well I’m about 6 months late (as usual) for the competition lol. But I lost my filter wallet in the Peak District, about £350 worth that took me years to collect. It’s what happens when you get so excited in nice light on the moors. Put my filter wallet on the floor whilst in a hurry to change a lens, then walked off. Realised 30 mins later. I attempted to retrace my steps in the sea of heather. Suffice to say a lesson learned. It’s an expensive hobby, at least I can bracket but you can’t substitute a CPL. Only recently found your channel. Amazing videos and imagery, thanks for the great tips. Subscribed.

If I'd get a new filter holder kit though I'd need a lot of different step up rings for my various lenses... The LEE filter holder I now have does not accept a CPL though so the NISI v7 would be a great addition to my kit!

I just found you through Reddit! Love the shots and the in-depth knowledge that you freely give. So many want to hide their style or techniques and you are giving it away!
My favorite shot was the second to last (I believe) where the light highlighted the peak in the middle, bus had soft shadows surrounding it and the rest of the image. I shoot an X-T2 and have the XF 50-140mm lens as well, so this gave me so much encouragement!
If I were to win the Nisi filter holder, I would utilize it with so many of my shots. I already have a trip to Teton National Park this summer, and you better believe I will be using it there as well!
Thanks again for the awesome info!

    Hi
Another great video Andrea, you mentioned to leave a comment of where I would use the filter that you are planning to give away.
A CPL filter and ND filters are something I need to add to my new Fujifilm camera outfit, an XT-3, along with a kit lens and a 55-200 lens.
I am also fortunate enough to live in Florianopolis, know locally as Ihla Magica with many coastal photo opportunities. And like many others I am waiting for the travel situation to become more certain, and then I will be returning to Southern Patagonia, principally Ushuaia & El Chalten.
I have looked at this and other square filter systems as I know there are a host of locations where an ND filter as well as a CPL are a must.
I am of the opinion that the NiSi system is both well engineered and is an easy and secure system to use.
So whilst I am only hopeful about gaining this package, the NiSi system is on my wish list.

I love the stark shapes and edges of these mountains in the photos, especially those with lots of contrast. In my part of the world we have wooded mountains, lakes and rivers, and beaches -- all of which I frequently shoot at times of "bad" light. Glare on leaves and on waves is my biggest issue. I'd love to have a reliable polarizing filter almost as much as I'd love a trip to the Dolomites!

Excellent video, very good CP filter demonstration. I currently use the V5 filter system with 100mm filters because it fits my wide angle lenses that don’t have filter threads and it easily adapts to the ones that do. I’d love to upgrade to the V7 filter system. The Nisi filters are excellent, the most color neutral filters I’ve used.

Stunning Andrea! I'm amazed how much of a dramatic impact the NISI polarizer had on your images. I'd love to try this on my X-t3/50-140mm setup in the Adirondacks. It would also be great to see how you processed some of the images, especially the very backlit "Lord of the Rings" photo.

Thanks so much, John. I really appreciated your comment. The post-processing on the "Erebor" image is pretty straightforward. The light was incredible, so I just tweaked highlights, shadows, and the tone curve with very basic adjustments, and done. I wish it were always like that :) Ciao

    Stunning Images 🗻
Why do I need a CPL? Maybe the question is.. Why do a I need a top level Nisi CPL? It's important to get the best possible result from the lens and the scene expecially when the light requires it.. of course: it's an important part of everything you have to do right for a great landscape shot. (in fact I'm not using so much a CPL, so.. This w'd be a great starting point for me to complete the overall process with "quality" in mind)
Nice video Andrea! As always. Ciao 🙂

@Andrea Great video! I've just started exploring using NDs and Polarizers, and the V7 Filter Holder would help me tremendously as I have struggled with screw-on filters in the past, and actually gave up on using them as they would shift focus slightly, but enough to ruin good images. Using the simple NiSi drop in filters, which are so much simpler, would step up my game! Thank you brother for another GREAT video!

So many amazing pictures in this video, but my favorite is the last one - minimalistic photo of the mountain. Could you be so kind and tell in what temperature did you make this pictures? In the winter do you hike or this photographs were made mostly from easily accessible places? And can you say what filter did you use on this NiSi holder? Is it better to user holder like this from the video or more often you are using bracketing? Unfortunately I didn't have chance to use holder like NiSi V7, and mostly my landscape photos are being made in the polish mountains so I am very interested to try it out. On your pictures it looks as perfect addition.

Really enjoyable video. Would be great to hear your thoughts on using the lens with IS turned on when on the tripod as I notice you did.

    • @AndreaLivieriPhoto
      @AndreaLivieriPhoto  2 года назад

Thanks so much, Rich. About the IS, I usually turn it off when the camera is on the tripod. Sometimes, on rare occasions with a decent amount of wind, I try to leave it on. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but I always capture the same scene using both settings, IS ON and OFF, and I'll check later on the computer which one is the best.

Thanks for the reply and like I say I really enjoyed the video. I do exactly the same and I do think the IS helps when it’s windy. I sold the 70-300 and bought the 50-140 as despite it being a great lens I simply couldn’t get the best out of it in windy, low light conditions. Pretty much every sunrise!

@@AndreaLivieriPhoto I really did! As much as I think it’s a fantastic lens I just found it tricky to get sharp images at 200-300mm at lower shutter speeds during sunrise/sunset. It’s just not as stable and kind of defeats the object. Plus I think the 50-140 will go very nicely with a stacked sensor like I’m hoping for on the XT5…

I've never owned a square filter system and I would love to try it during my travel landscape photography. I think I'd benefit from trying something new, continuing the learning process of photography. How would I use the filter? Attending one of your workshops as soon as possible!

Awesome images! Love the backlit shot, second last towards the end. Question, how do you find the 50-140 for hiking? I've been having mixed feelings about the 70-300, not so much the images but the focal range. I just miss 50-70 range way more than the long end. Worry about the size and weight though, especially along with overnight and climbing gear. Of course if I snag one I'll need a new bigger filter for it! Keep up the great work.

The 50-140 is a bit heavier than the 70-300 or the 55-200, but it's always with me when I go hiking. To me, it doesn't make too much difference. But, if you're short of space in your backpack and you want to hike as light as you can, well, the 70-300 is a no-brainer. :)

As a fellow Venetian living on the other side of the globe it would help improve my landscape photography never used one, not even before Fuji but your videos are very good at explaining why I should start using some filters, the NiSi, would complement the 50-140 I bought after seeing your review!
