My grandmother,as a girl hung out at the old Selig and Essanay silent movie studios in Chicago. She was the ultimate 'fan girl', collecting autographs. I found her autograph book, with all these signatures of actors I never heard of. It's fascinating to put a face to a name. Btw, the old studio buildings still stand, turned into private residences. Beyond gorgeous and radiantly alluring, Dolores Costello was the most beautiful woman who will ever grace the silver screen
and theres a colorized photo of her with long hair and ethereal eyes not shown here that glowingly displays her hypnotic beauty.

Myrna Loy and Joan Crawford are by far my top two favorites, even though both did more non silent films.

These girls worked for pennies on the dollar while the studios made the big bucks trading these girls to other studios for their motion pictures. Clara Bow made $50 a week while she was traded to other studios for $1,000 a week.

Corrine Griffith, Colleen Moore, Joan Crawford, Loretta Young. All of them were in silent movies and all of them were absolutely gorgeous women. How could they be left out?
