  • Best to worst, weapons for your leg people ranked and tiered so you know what is TRASH, what is GOOD and anything in between. All weapons with upgrades deal approximately 2.7 times the damage they start with which means that you may need to spend a little less time shooting and wasting bullets, but as is : the game is still very "BULLET SPONGY". All 11 guns : Karma AR-50, C-44, L-6, P-15, Manticore Executioner, Intimidator, Oppressor, Tormentor, TK Aphelion, Eclipse, Zenith RANKED!

      @@EloquentiaSerpentis what about a dominator suit with a power backpack. The minigun takes both your primary slots, and you are unable to sprint / jump (exept the jetpack thing), but you have a fcking minigun

    The rocket launcher is quite usefull... to kill NPCs that glitched into buildings and can't be killed with other weapons or grenades.

      The cutter on the Maverick suit turned out to be even more useful than a weapon. In conflict zones the doors fail to open sometimes, locking a considerable amount of your own troops inside where they run around like lemmings. Then you can cut open the panel and overcharge the door. Afterwards they can happily continue to be cannon fodder while you do the actual work.

      Figure it has to be useful to clear out enemies clustered inside a capture point. Haven’t gotten deep into combat, been grinding for upgrades and made a good amount of progress.

    The saddest part is, they're never going to change any of this. FPS gameplay will be as half-baked and abandoned as multicrew, Powerplay, faction ranks, engineering and all the rest.

      It seems like making Elite into a good game would be way less work than making a whole new game, since fairly decent foundations are already there. Hence some of us poor souls hold our for Frontier to fix it rather than hope someone makes a new space game. I just wonder why they have no interest at all in fixing it - it could have many times its current player base

      @@chobon00b62 the thing is, there's already somebody making another space game. As much flak as Star Citizen catches from its stately development pace, the fact remains that, among other things, the FPS combat in it is serviceable and solid with weapons that not only kill quickly, but have a great deal of variety; I own several ground vehicles including the Nova tank and a number of FPS weapons including three grenade launchers, the sole (at the moment) missile launcher and shoulder-fired railgun, and a spread of other weapons that are all satisfying and unique in their own way.
      Better yet, this is just phase Zero, the prototyping stage of their combat systems as a whole, they have plans to expand on the combat systems in the game to a degree that's going to completely change it in the future.
      Also, how about those bugged shotgun shells at 9:30? You got to hand it to Frontier, when they half-ass something, they make sure it shows.

And lets be fair, tanks or tank-like veichle in SC are useless without Contractual battle. You will forget about these useless veichle and just jump to car-like veichle

    The best weapon to use in Odyssey is the dumbfire rocket rack. Bonus for advanced racks, since they have extra ammo.

    You need to make a video about this "lasers for shields, bullets for bodies" combat style. Switching weapons every 10 seconds does not look fun whatsoever. At least in planetside 2 there were differences in rate of fire, projectile drop and weapon handling but it still managed to be somewhat balanced and loads of fun. Switching guns every minute just to be effective is just jarring.

      It’d be better if the switching animation wasn’t more basic than some games released in the 90s, makes the switching feel so clunky.

      I don't understand the emphasis on this switching gameplay.
      In ship combat, you can use lasers or MCs against anything. They will eventually kill the target, even though one is more effective than the other against shields/hull.
      Is it really not the same for foot combat? You can use a kinetic rifle to take down shields, but it's just not as good as lasers?

      I play a lot of arena shooters so I kinda like the idea, but I'll admit those are much faster paced and switching weapons here does feel slow. Halo with a touch of Arma is how I'd describe Odyssey's combat, and if they took more inspiration from those games (Halo in particular) it'd be a lot better.

    I find a hybrid using the AR-50 and laser rifle to be the best possible combination for CZs without constantly having to reload. The combination kills enemies so quickly that it makes me cringe every time I see someone only using a single weapon and complaining that the enemies are bullet sponges.
    Is it a good design? No, not really. But is it effective? Super. No other weapon except a fully modded plasma shotgun even comes close to the laser kinetic combo.

      You can 2 shot the strongest npc with a Plasma sniper in 2 seconds. It takes 2 seconds just to swap weapons. Just put a mag upgrade on it. Won every high intensity CZ I did, in a Maverick suit :) The worst weapons in the game though are the grenades, I don't even bother throwing them anymore. It's just easier to shoot people. The point is you can't put 2 primary weapons on a Maverick and 99% of feet gameplay requires it. Might as well save yourself worthless grind and just upgrade the plasma sniper and pistol. ON that note I did the 10 CZs didn't get the engineer unlock. Was so bored out of my mind at how easy and repetitive it was I can't do it again even if the bug is fixed.

      @@TheMaw365 P.S. To get the unlock, you have to do 10 LOW intensity CZs. I encountered this problem as well. Took the community a couple of weeks to figure that out. :)
      If you put stowed reloading and faster handling on both primaries, you can basically fire forever until you have to reload your suit ammo. Faster handling cuts the time to swap weapons by quite a bit and stowed reloading basically reloads your gun every time you swap.
      The plasma sniper might be slightly more effective against a single target, but when you're dealing with any more than 3, you'll need to reload. With the dyad combo, you can take out a couple of their shields in a single round then switch to the kinetic rifle to finish them, all in a couple of seconds, cutting the average time per target significantly. I find doing this against 3 targets at a time works the best to not give enough time for their shields to regenerate. Against 3 targets with this method usually takes less than 5 seconds if your aim is good which makes the average time taken per kill 1.6 seconds or less. Plus like I said, with stowed reloading, you basically never have to reload.
      Also never lost a CZ as well using this combo, regardless of difficulty. :)
      (though that's not saying much cuz CZs are ridiculously easy right now lol)

      Pretty much reached same conclusions as you (although I've been using the sub laser and sub kinetic mostly as I found G3 versions), the video really got an awful lot wrong.

      Applying basic fucking sense to Odyssey breaks the 'intended' game play. If you are in a position to care about feet, you have the money to have a tank. And if you have a tank, why the hell do you need to run around outside on foot?

      Fixed dumbfire missiles to thin numbers with the SRV for mop up and a plasma sniper for cleaning up indoors and area too cluttered for the SRV. Silenced sniper for stealth missions. Rockets are fun as a second primary.

    i feel sad for ED content creators for having to play this game in this state. I myself made the mistake of buying odyssey but at least I can stay away until maybe fdev actually turn this trash into treasure.

    Fact: laser for shield and kinetic for body is VERY effective.
    Also fact: swapping weapons as infantries just to kill someone effectively is extremely idiotic.
    Yet another fact: the ineffectiveness of these against their bad match (laser on body, kinetic on shield) is the root of the problem.

      @@PowerofRock24 which games? I don't remember having to switch weapons on each enemy for halo, star wars, killzone or any other game for that matter. On a ship you don't have to redeploy hardpoints each time you switch weapons. Also I have fire groups.

    I upgraded the AR-50 to g5 and when combined with laser assault rifle it melts everything once you drop its shield down, and it was also pretty decent at g3 as well. However, I do agree that without upgrades it is a horrible weapon.

      Came here to say the same thing. I have G4 Kinetic AR and G4 Laser AR (Neither are engineered because fuck that system, or more like, the limited asset/data/goods space) and they make for really fast kill times so long as you play by the rock paper scissors system. Also because I like relatively long range shooting which no other weapon does.
      I agree with the shotgun here, apparently with engineering, that shotgun can 1 shot kill even elites due to spread reduction, so expect a prompt and thorough nerf because FDev WILL HAVE NO FUN IN THEIR GAME!

    The laser pistol and kinetic AR, which as individual weapons you've put into the worst tier, are absolutely the top-tier combo for starting weapons.
    (Along with the shotgun or sniper if using the Dominator suit.)

      I tried them and they are shit. quickly had to switch to a rocket launcher to get anything done. you can get away with LP and KR in a conflict zone, but not in a settlement raid

      @@TheYamiks actually found the plasmas to be pretty shit - I really wanted to love the plasma sniper rifle (was going to stay stealth and kill everyone from distance) but too slow projectile too slow reload - even the npcs can dodge it unless you're in their faces (probably is useful if you engineer it for silence but I havent got that far). Shotgun dispersion is so bad that it does negligible damage at any sort of range, Rifle not enough damage/accuracy/projectile speed (all may change at higher levels), Plasma pistol (I have grade 3, silent, large capacity mag) is excellent. Actually finding the Laser Rifle pretty good - definitely against shields and does reasonable damage to skin. Have large capacity mag on the rocket launcher which helps (and is the only thing that can damage goliath). Actually find the AR50's pretty good too once you've gotten the shields down - at least you can aim it and hit stuff with it and it does okay damage.

    Without shields, the AR-50 is great when one does not prefer close range. Also, you gotta obey their "laser for shields, kinetic for suits".. or simply kill slower.

    Imagine fighting Thargoids later on with these weapons and that gameplay idea.
    You will beg the Thargoid to kill you faster for sure. Who ever thought that mechanic and gameplay was good should be fired. Oh wait... then no dev would be left i guess.

      @@rajgopee1245 Of course i was also joking. But seeing the performance on foot kept me a bit suspicious about it besides the mediocre FPS gameplay. It doesn't feel thought out completely you know what i mean? Tucked together in a hurry.
      I would love to go back to solve mysteries and explore story stuff like the guardian things. Sadly there wasn't much about that for a longer time. Hope they went back to that. There are still so much open questions.

    Gonna go fully unnecessary nerd for a moment. It looks like the kinetic assault rifle uses a reciprocating barrel, which would mean that it actually uses its own recoil to drive its operation. Which is fine until you start taking it to planets with different levels of gravity and thus totally throw the balance of the system out of whack. The gun would possibly have different fire rates on different planets or just simply not work at all.

      If I looking towards the SRV-Gameplay they brought in with Horizons...they will never touch the FPS-Part again.
      Funny how they made by accident the SRV finally usefull for something diffrent than collecting Rocks...

    So... My weapons are:
    №1 g5 plasma pistol (silencer/reload speed/mag size/range(why not?)) - good for sneaky stealing shit from settlements (most versatile weapon)
    №2 g5 plasma space shotgun (mag size/reload speed) - press M1 to delete npc in close range (most fun weapon)
    №3 g5 rocket pooper (mag size/reload speed) - good for... for... idk it's just slow and boring, but can kill 2-3 npcs if they hugging each other (most explosive weapon ;)
    №4 g5 plasma "sniper" stick (mag size/reload speed) - yes it can 2 shot everyone, but it's sooooo boooring and sloooow! (most slow weapon)
    №5 g5 laser pew-pew rifle (no mods coz i'm done with this grind) - not good, not bad, just ok (most just "ok" weapon)
    №6 g5 plasma assault rifle (mag size/reload speed) - there is no words to express how weak this "gun" is, looks good tho. (The Horribly Slow Commander with the Extremely Inefficient Weapon award)

    One thing I will give these on-foot weapons: They can all DESTROY spaceships with ease! Seriously, can I mount a bunch of these to my ship instead of Large lasers and multicannons? It'd be hilarious to use the horrendous imbalance to our advantage.

    I would disagree in the visual design of the weapons
    they look nice in my opinion because firstly they aren't as oversized as most victional vidéo game désign's and secondly it's nice to see something different from the usual fictional gun désign's in games
    I especialy like the laser SMG with it's kind of multibarel désign(if someone knows how to call it please tell me) and it's sounds great to shoot

    Been spending an obscene amount of time grinding but have good progress to show for it. A tormentor pistol at grade 5 with both indoor and outdoor silencers, fasrer handling, and reduced recoil can kill most enemies in two shots. Working on some non-plasma loadouts for the heck of it, thought I’d see if an AR-50 with reduced recoil and faster handling for aiming down sights would compensate for its built-in disadvantages, will try it out once I’ve got the handling mod on it. Biggest pain in the ass is finding weapon components. Plasma hasn’t been so bad but I don’t want combat to consist entirely of lobbing slow-moving purple snowballs at enemies.
    I don’t know if the laser pistol underwent some rebalancing after this video came out, because now it can strip shields almost immediately, and paired with the kinetic SMG it’s pretty formidable. The only weapons you’ll be able to rely on to do both jobs are plasma, unfortunately. I have yet to put reduced recoil on an Oppressor, that mod has worked wonders on both the tormentor and AR-50 and AFAIK might be the only thing capable of redeeming that piece of crap, just don’t know if I’m ready to invest the material grinding time into testing that theory.

      Follow-up: got reduced recoil and faster handling on an oppressor. Still sucks. Won’t waste any more time grinding for it. AR-50 does well enough with that mod combo though.

    I dunno if they buffed the high risk conflict zone vouchers or what, but using Frontline to farm those is actually a decent way to make money early on in the game. A few million for 5 minutes being flown there and 15 fighting from afar, being careful to stay near the AI teammates but keep them between you and the enemy AI as much as possible. Much like early bounty hunting you follow the npc friends around and tag every enemy they're in combat with so you get credit when they do expire. Using the laser rifle to keep enemy shields down while the friendly AI charges headlong towards them is a really easy way to secure victories usually. But once in a while the game does break and your AI buddies will forget to gravitate towards the control points, making things harder, but ultimately if you stay near a squad of them while they last you can easily farm plenty of money, enough to forget about the fact they left you alone to die trying to pick off a swarm of enemy AI using low quality gear.

    Gotta say, I normally like your takes and opinions on aspects of the game.
    Hopefully I won’t be crucified but I just cannot agree with this video.
    Smacked myself to elite mercenary in conflict zones using the weapons as designed, had a good time, hit my targets and used the guns as intended.
    No engineering in my guns in High Intensity zones and I was walking out with 8.5-10mil per conflict.
    Paid for my entire newest Anaconda build in 3 days of just running these zones with how the weapons are designed to be used.
    For the curious, my most used kit is
    Aphelion
    AR-50
    P-15
    Hopefully people can respect it, and we can get some nice debate in the replies, but hey, to each their own.

      Reply as it is worth noting.
      Had about 10 rounds of bugged conflict zones where enemies and friendlies did not move at all.
      Respawned from vultures and just stood there.
      Avg 20mil per zone due to attrition based wins, and no objective captures

      Playing as "intended" sure will do the trick .. kind of, however I argue that this FORCED gameplay is in fact extremely unfun and restricting. So if one chooses to play one or another way and be OK with it , that on them.

      I have noticed now that my Aphelion is level 3, it hits fairly hard for flesh damage.
      The Zenith pistol at level 2 melts shields as well, and on 1,2,and3 chevron enemies it’s flesh damage is also very good.
      The oppressor struggles still but I only run it at level 2
      I’m trying to comprise my own personal list of damage performance as I slowly level everything up.
      And comparing TTK to various enemy strength levels.
      If I could finish this slow grind to maxed out personal weapons, I’d love to share the info with you for comparison or an updated video on damage models at different levels

    Well the first weapon you started with in the video is fitting the second primary slot of the Dominator suit. That cat take down shields, but it drains unshieled targets fast. So, TK Aphelion to take out the shields and then the "ballistic Automatic Assault Rifle" to finish the job. The combination is efficient. Especially when you play games like Team fortress 2 for long enough to know how to stab n sap the Sentry... because then you basically automatically hit 1 after 5 minutes of being introduced to the system of swapping for effective dealing of damage. Not like Team Fortress 2 has this kind of system just that it is based on range. The plasma Weapons remind me of using the Direct hit or Liberty Launcher while the AR-50 reminds me of the Brassbeast minus the slow rev.

    The comparison to the Lasher is actually unfair.
    Lasher has more uses than the Opressor, and it's something that NPCs don't feel: Fear. Or specifically suppression. But a couple Lashers on a doorway, and ain't no bad guys coming through that door lest they get peppered.

    I upgraded the kinetic rifle and the laser pistol up to g4. It works extremely well with switching but it sucks to need to switch.
    I then upgraded a plasma sniper to g4 and while really goddamn slow, I preferred it over the constant switching. Now I’m working on upgrading the plasma pistol for stealth and as a last ditch.

    I’ve spent the last week trying to play this content and after spending over an hour doing one mission and still dying while being stuck using plasma weapons because no other station has anything else, I’m getting a refund from Steam…
    This DLC made me genuinely angry with how poor quality it is and what makes it worse, is I love everything else about it >.< I’m only gonna re buy this if it ever goes on sale for DIRT cheap. Otherwise, I’m keeping tabs on your channel and just waiting it out to see if it even survives another year

    i find the laser pistol and ar-50 my best choices to kill somethign fast (by switching) i find stange you find them trash yet i find them the most effective (both are grade 5 and modded)

    Laser rifle and kinetic rifle, both with fast handling and stowed reloading. Shields drop fast with laser rifle, quick switch to AR-50 and the health drops fast. The back to the laser rifle, that's been reloaded... rinse repeat

    The hair straightener (laser rifle) is decent upgraded to G5. Good range, hit scan + extra ammo mod makes it.

    What a relief to see here the intro of the game slow, flickering, dropping frames, slow-realtime-rendering-like, jerking and everything else that could mean not smooth, just like in my computer.     What do you mean "no scope"? Activating "aim down sights" is mandatory in Odyssey, it's the only way to disable scattershot mode on the guns. That is, without shoving the gun in your face, the projectile goes nowhere near the direction the gun is pointing!

    Hmm. My list is very similar, but I'm currently working in the Maverick so much that using plasma feels like locking myself into unreliable and slow projectiles. At my squad leader's suggestion, I've gone las pistol and kinetic carbine and it does well enough for mission enemies.

    Only a fool uses the kinetic against shielded opponents, while on foot you get the best TTK using 2 specialized weapons. Or be a god plasma sniper. Otherwise your beating your head against a wall shooting bullets at a shield lmao.

    Sidenote: Engineered suits increases damages resistances on top of more health. Using low grades against engineered opponents multiplies the ammo type inherent weakness further (and plasma on foot, unlike ship, actually has a damage resistance, it's just that it averages medium instead of being negative on one side and positive on the other)
    Here I am, with Grade3 of every gun, and it reversed some of those order lmao. In High CZ I use the Tanaka to melt the shields from entire squads in my clip from 30-60 meters away and then swap to my AR50 and kill them all before their shields recharge... since its the only accurate high HP damage gun that can hit past a 15m (and the damage increase per grade is ridiculous). When out scavenging against low threat targets the laser pistol is surprisingly powerful. The sniper rifle meanwhile, it needs at least grade 4 at High CZ to 2-shot kill reliably because they keep like 5 shield and 10 health after the hit which means you need 4 and unable to take one down in a single clip.
    The high tier shotgun is fucking insane as a primary weapon for raiding settlements though. At a CZ you'll want the melee engineering so you can punch the Motherfuckers who still have like 15 hps left after the blast and you don't have time to wait.
    The plasma pistol is great at every grade though. So good. For some reason the reticle drops like 5fps everytime so I can't use it reliably.

    Thanks for the list. Just downloaded Elite Odyssey to new PC and played through the tutorials last night after work. Had a feeling things might get frustrating after that. Right now I'm playing a f**karound cmdr until I can transfer my xbox cmdr to account, but this will save me a lot of pain when I do I think.

    The usability of each weapon is much different when they are grade 5 and engineered. Grade 5 upgrade makes all weapons deal 3x damage, compared to grade 1. The fastest killing level 5 weapon is shotgun, and I play only high tier ground combat zones to farm mercenary rank. Shotgun with extra ammo is a must. Usually it takes 3 shots to kill a level 5 enemy from 20-30m and 2 shots to kill him from 5-10m. Sniper rifle is better than tormentor pistol, because it needs 2 shots to kill anything and pistol needs more. Low speed of plasma shot is bad, but AI is stupid and this is still a valid weapon to kill more distant targets as they tend to stop and crouch to shoot. Combine with shotgun makes you almost unstoppable, unless you are surrounded by 4+ level 5 NPCs. For ground combat zones I recommend to not take noise reduction upgrades, just extra ammo, better handling, reload time and possibly stowed reload. For outside of CZ I recommend audio masking (still locked by no smear campaign plans to drop, to unlock Yarden Bond engineer), noise suppressor, extra ammo and range or weapon handling. Running in level 5 dominator suit against level 5 striker NPCs with shotguns - they will lose every time in 1on1. For level 5 dominator suit I recommend extra jump, faster shield regeneration, longer running and night vision for night fighting or combat movement upgrade for day fighting. Having 2 differently upgraded level 5 dominator suits to choose is useful, and the same goes to shotgun and sniper rifle. For maverick suit, I recommend extra backpack, night vision, extra jump and quieter footsteps (again locked by no access to Yarden Bond as of now) as main loadout.

      It was never relevant in the first place. Idiot uses kinetic weapons on shields, which is one of the most basic mechanics in elite that has been here for years.
      You can drop into a high intensity ground combat zone with completely unengineered stuff and still melt npcs if you keep to the rule of using thermals against shields and kinetic against armor, without the enemies feeling like bullet sponges.

    I wish there were some better weapons and more variety. One thing I liked about one of my games was the fact that there were different manufactures, and they all had their own style. I also liked that there are a ton of weapon choices; so many you couldn’t list them. There were at least 20 styles of weapons, and some of those categories have multiples sub-styles. Like you could have a fast automatic that is hard to control, and doesn’t do much damage, but if you are up close (very close) you can shred people. Or they would have slow automatics were you could take someone out without having to smell them, and it was easier to use. Or have a burst rifle that has low magazine size, but hits hard as hell and can have some decent range; or have a burst rifle with a huge mag, but doesn’t hit as hard and shoots faster. There’s not enough base variety.

    I basically came to this same conclusion myself. The top three weapons you listed are what my main load out is.
    That said, if you can find a grade three Karma C-44, it's worth it. I randomly found one and it shreds the meat part in less than a second.
    I know this video was about grade one but yeah, grade three was nice.

    The combat in Odyssey is some of the most deliberately arcadey shit that I have ever seen. I remember my first time clearing a settlement, I had my weapon shouldered, I was pieing corners, hooking through entry points, clearing rooms properly, then I met an enemy and blat blat blat blat blat blat blat in the face as it dances around also going blat blat blat blat and I was just left thinking what in the fucking christ am I playing here? What is going on?
    My disciplined manoeuvring has zero applicability when you literally have to skull fuck your magazine rounds into the front of someones face at point blank range whilst mimicking their dance moves. I just don't understand how the actual fuck any of this could have made it into the game, it's mind-bending levels of ridiculousness.
    The kinetic-laser dichotomy is also doing my nut in. Buhh it's like ships, it'll be like ship combat, it's the same as ship combat guys, it's so transferable. No it's fucking not. Yes the human infantry can have shields.... It's a bit... fuck me, but we can go with it, but okay their shields are now gone and this high powered shield dropping laser is doing nothing to a flesh fucking target? I mean really? Yes lasers can be good against shields, that is at the very least reasoned but let's be fucking sensible here, once those shields are gone anything should be fucking cutting them to pieces and certainly shouldn't merit the dumping of yet another magazine of fuck knows what.
    Every enemy is a fucking mini boss. "Oh but we're mini bosses to them." Yes we are and it's ridiculous. The enemies survivability needs to be toned the fuck down to somewhere within the vague realms of fucking believability and so does ours. At present if I'm in a room stealing some fucking mars bars and 6 guys pop in with assault rifles do you know what I do? I run past them and leg it down the corridor whilst getting shot the whole time, then I make it out the building and continue legging it getting shot by NPCS, drones, ships, fucking turrets, I can even pause for a swig of coffee as I wiggle my ass in front of the garrison. WE ARE SPONGES.

    IMO space legs combat should have focused around fighting goids, guardians, and drones. Other humans should be like minibosses rather than standard enemies.

    Using both of your carried guns for EVERY SINGLE ENEMY as a gameplay design alone is absurd.
    Those plasma projectile speeds even more so, it’s one thing for rockets/explosives to be slowed down for gameplay effect but those plasma weapons make Star Wars blasters look like viable weapons which often they are not, mostly due to come of fire spread and slow-enough projectiles that people can actively dodge the shots beyond knife fighting range.

    I tried a base assault on an unpowered and deserted base, I was just trying to loot enough mats to upgrade my shit. By some weird magic 2 drop ships appeared within 30 seconds of me arriving at the base. I was hiding watching them arrive, all 8 descended on my position, they knew exactly where I was before I even drew a weapon. I’m out in Colonia, there are no Odessey engineers, I’ve found one Karma -15 level 2 upgrade after touring the entire and every high tech station with a concourse several times since release . I’m seriously thinking of taking my shit back to the bubble.

    Hold up!!! That gun is really dang good when paired with a laser weapon. It's purpose is to absolutely wreck unshielded foes and to shoot a shielded foe with it is stupid. The plasma assault rifle definitely does deserve to be on the trash list though. Absolutely worthless even at killing unshielded foes.

      @@kempo79 Good point. Rails and Plasma are indeed the bread and butter of most successful PVP builds. Eventually had to adapt my Cutter from it's old "battleship" loadout with turrets and stuff to 5 multicannons and 2 railguns. It's a night and day difference once you get a feedback cascade railgun with long range and a ton of incendiary multicannons with one being corrosive.

    American here: a buddy of mine had a SPAS-12 and I hate to break it to you, but they're absolute dogshit. They're unbelievably heavy, they're unreliable as a semi-auto, and the action is mushy and gritty-feeling as a pump. The folding stock is fiddly and awful, the build quality is shockingly bad for how expensive they are, the ergonomics are shockingly poorly thought out, and worst of all, the safety on some early models will make the gun just go off on it's own when you take it off safe.
    They're cool looking, but you're not missing much by not being able to own one of the stupid things. It's a gun that's best experienced in a video game, unfortunately.

    Yamiks, someone got VR working in first person, basically as you open the camera suite, you also hit go into free view mode, at the same time, and it puts you into first person VR then you hit the key to take control of character, and you can move around, please do a video on this, it show that it would be very little work for frontier to get VR working properly on foot. more info on the forums on how to do it. thx

    Got Odyssey as New Year gift from my GF. Now cant play it, because its unplayable. Coudnt get out of SC anywhere last days, had to relog to Horizons to actually exit SC and land on station. Will wait untill last PC patch comes this week, and see if anything changes. If not, will just wait for console launch, when Ody eventually fixed, or just move to another game. EDO is really sad story, it had so much potential.
    About weapons. Long TTK and non-hitscan plasma weapons are shit design choices. I kill spaceships faster then onfoot people, should be other way around. Shields should be universal, without bullshit 5 bars shield enemies. Everyone should be 1 bar of shields on foot. At least content for farming eng mats, should have easiest TTK enemies.

      It could be that are some heavier moving parts inside the weapon that need to make contact and separate when firing to prevent premature overheating with a continuous beam.
