      The morality of our times has declined, therefore, so have the movies. Methinks that I was born at the wrong time. I wished I would have lived centuries ago when life was pure and simple.

    • @sorellman
      @sorellman 4 месяца назад +8

      @@SongBird21-nz8vx Do you really think centuries ago "life was pure and simple?" That impression is based on what some of the movies made us believe life centuries ago was like. It was anything but simple. Religious intolerance and religious wars that lasted 100 years; diseases that today you treat with over the counter medication killing thousands of people; plagues killing thousands, lack of proper hygiene and medical assistance killing thousands; more wars; the cities, such as London, were buried in garbage and sewage, and so were the rivers; most people were living in hard to describe squalor, and so on, and so on. Perhaps the best part of it was that they were living closer to nature. It was done though mostly to take from her what we needed, rather than admire and worship her.

      There aren't movies like this now not to talk of the real ones out of the movies. The old golden days people are so minute now as few parents instil what were instilled in them into their children and wards. Thank God I received hood morals and I passed them on to my children and always happy when people come to tell me about my children without knowing they are my children and I hope they would pass it on to their children too.

      @@SongBird21-nz8vx Ah yes, the good ol' days...when slavery was legal, paint was made of lead, and a rotten tooth could kill you as well as tuberculosis, various poxes, polio, etc. And if you were working class even worse. There's no health care! Weee! Women had no property rights or right to vote so if your husband died good luck making enough money to survive unless you turn to prostitution for a while until you're too ugly to do it - or you die of some STD first. And there were no child labor laws - or any labor laws at all! Oh and your men could die in pretty much any war and of any tiny infected wound cuz there's no penicillin! But ah yes, what a good and pure time indeed. lol

    I am familiar with Loisa May Alcott's writings and books that I studied in school a great many years ago. In my day in school in the 50s and 60s, we read and studied all the classics that l always remember and never tire of reading many times over. It is so very sad that these classics have been forgotten and are no longer required reading as they were in my day. It is unconscionable that certain states are banning great literature and anything educational in this country. American History and World History was required when I was in school, and I am grateful for that. We must fight for that right.

    I loved Tom Conti as the father. What a sweet and lovely manner he has in this film. This makes all the difference to a young woman and how she esteems herself, especially because of his encouragement of her and his own loving relationship with his wife. This is the foundation of a healthy society. Many comment below about the oversexualization in films and it is so true. Often movies twist societal norms with very bad content which sets people up to compromise important values in real life thinking it's ok. If you have no solid foundation to lean on, this often leads to heartbreak or worse. God's Word is true.

      The actors don't have sex in films, so how can anyone complain about bed scenes.
      Even when they kiss, it's acted out.

      what a wonderful memory for you, watching this movie with your mother. she sounds like a great, warm mamma (as mine was...). by choosing such movies for you, i think she was trying to instill the character written for these movie characters in you, her beloved daughter. you were so blessed. so very sorry you lost her. but if she believed in Jesus & accepted Him as her Savior then she breathed her last breath & woke up in His great Heaven- where she waits for you, with love & expectation. now THAT'S a REAL life classic! i pray that God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, & the whole Heavenly realm be real to you always... & i wish i could be there to witness your reunion! stay safe & stay well, lady.

    Quality English language and integrity. I was just reminded and also confirmed about recent encounter, that sometimes one chosen to walk away from dark matter words from loved ones. Because sometimes one just becomes blind, and unseen can be seen, so I dare to own my worth. I do not consent for anything but integrity loving treatment, or swim away forever. One long time friend lost opens room for one incredible to come to my reality.

      Some women if those days chose to be prositutes, same like they choose now to earn their living.
      It was very dangerous to travel those days as the chance of being robbed was very high.
      Life was nice for the rich people only. Their moral standards were very low but this isn't portrayed in this film, as it's a fictional production.

    • @E-Kat
      @E-Kat Год назад

      We need blood to stay alive and sex is absolutely normal to ensure the survival of the human race.
      There's nothing dirty or wrong about sex.
      It's just like eating food, digesting and going to toilet and emptying the bowel.
      It's just one of the body functions built into us.
      All animals do it.
      There's nothing wrong with showing women breasts as they provide milk for our babies.
      That's their only function.
      Men often have bigger breasts than women, they have nipples looking exactly the same like female nipples, yet it's ok for them to go topples.
      Everything is so messed up; we're so conditioned to these bizarre stereotypes and we don't question them.

    So true. It’s mind blowing how morals have changed so fast. What was honoured and treasured is mocked now. The movies that show couples jumping into bed at the first acquaintance are setting an example for the younger generation who think it’s COOL to be so popular. They don’t think for a moment about the consequences. It’s now so common a lone mother to raise a child. But some children are left at orphanages. It’s become a sad world we now live in
