Hey I really like the movie and your segment overall, but due to the (understandable) dark and shaky image I couldn't understand the ending of yours, so I would truly appreciate your perspective. ***SPOILER ALERT**** Were the aliens just trying to help you? The little girl said they didn't take their hamster because she told them not to do it, and it seemed to me they were trying to help your character but because there were no humans being preserved in the goo, they used the other animals' dna. So it seemed there was no ill intent. But I also think if they were advanced enough to travel that kind of distance, they'd probably understand you asking for a mercy kill at the end
Stowaway was my favorite. Me and my girl have seen plenty of horror movies including the sick and twisted and gruesome ones, but they don’t make me feel like the ending of stowaway made me feel. I just felt terrible most of the people get an instant death but thinking about the math and being there for at least 4 years or even worst 28 years not just turning into a lizard spider but also feeling every ounce of pain and watching yourself become this unrecognizable creature is terrible.
@@JR-hf4xy It's all explained in the dialogue - you don't actually NEED to see it! Basically the nanobots are the 'super advanced life support' the character talks about, but they're not conscious. They'll heal any injury, and yeah, you're right, they did it based on the animals they had in the ship since they didn't have data on a human. They're not smart enough to understand words (the nanobots that is - the aliens who went into the girls room are),. The nanobots' job is just to 'see an injury and respond'.

@@Hakman78 I saw it more as a collection of classic sci Fi, human experimentation/hybrids is classic science fiction. Frankenstein, The Fly, The Island of Dr. Moreau. I think it fits really well
@@devonchafe2764 yeah I mean I guess. I think maybe I had just an issue with the movie in general, like it started as this Ancient Aliens documentary which was cool, but then it brought in the RUclips channel guys and overall it lost me. Like the first V/H/S and the second one worked the best to me because of the main story line have a collection of tapes/files, worked for the found footage concept. V/H/S 94 and 85 also had some really strong entries. The dog entry in this one was creepy, not saying it wasn’t.
I thought “Beyond” meant beyond safe spaces and this installment was all about spaces that weren’t safe. The last installment was my favorite because it had the most irony. That poor stowaway had immediate access to healthcare every time she got injured, but it was non consensual and extremely experimental to the point where she was begging for it to end. No safe spaces, indeed. 😮
Regarding Justin Long's segment, they should have worked the fact that it doesn't fit into the movie, like after we watched it, have one of the documentary guys yells at one of the tech guys, "Why did you show me this? This has nothing to do with the documentary! Did you mix up the tapes again? That's the 7th time, you're fired!" That would've been funny and at least explained the very obvious issue. 😂
I liked the 1st one of the 'men in black' group but was dressed like police looking for the babies. I enjoyed the ones that had to jump from the planes. I also liked the stowaway one. The ones I didn't like as much was the famous lady and the dog lady. Those stories I felt had nothing to do with Outer Space. Like all the V/H/S movies before some stories within the movie I like some not so much. For the most part I enjoyed it. I also was let down by the ending.

A simple VHS concept based on aliens and sci fi - early 1970s border patrol documentary about illegal aliens from the south. Border patrol talk about the strange customs and the brutal gang violence, skinning customers alive if they forfeit payment etc. Eventually border patrol catches a group, kills them, skins them alive, does weird rituals etc. UFO comes down and the border patrol gives the aliens part of the body parts in exchange for tech (some of which is video equipment ... Hence why the border patrol has VHS and cameras to do the documentary) and then continues on with their patrol before dropping the tech to a governmental agent who thanks them for providing footage as an instructional video for other border patrol crews.
