2F2F is actually my 2nd favorite movie from the franchise. I thought the race scenes in this movie is peak Fast and Furious. The fact that Dom wasn't in this didn't bother me. I think the only reason it bothers yall is because you knew coming into this series that Dom is "the main guy". But that wasn't always the case. Brian was actually the main guy, but that role slowly went to Dom over time, and especially after Paul passed.
Same, these races are my favorites and most varied from the franchise, everything from circuit, sprint, pink slips, chases. I remember watching it in theaters, my heart was racing in a few scenes, no other F&F movie has been able to even match that. Also Tyrese is legitimately funny in this one, before they turned him into a clown
There's a surprising amount of 'lore' related to the development of the films in this franchise, would highly recommend going down that rabbit hole if you're interested in the film business
Rome hates Brian because they grew up together, and when they were teenagers they would boost cars and joyride, but when Brian got busted he turned his life around. Rome didn't and he blames Brian because he left. I love the childhood friend energy between them in this one. Also, congratulations on the new baby 👶 👏
Agreed. Paul and Tyrese’s chemistry was peak acting in this film to me. I’m glad the studio heads did bring the two together in later films to continue that brotherly love. RIP Paul Walker. One of my favorite actors.
“Don’t tell me they’re going to recruit him again?! That would never happen.” Oh, Jen. We’re just scratching the surface of things that would “never happen” in this franchise. 😂
This one is probably one of my favourites of the franchise. The, "I got a high metabolism" line became a running joke among my friends and I growing up
Funny how Vin Diesel didn’t want to return for the second one because he thought it would taint the foundation of the first movie. 20 years later and 11 movies in….
I've seen all the films so the joy I get seeing Jen's comments makes me enjoy the anticipation of her future reactions. For fear of spoilers I will not comment further.
Fast and Furious 5 is my favourite specifically because I think the heist part of it is great. Plus all of the characters in that movie create a great dynamic in the group together.
Thank you two for watching this series with us. The characters you miss will be back later, and that is because we are still introducing family. The next movie will throw you off a bit too, because although Tokyo Drift was the third movie in the series to be made... it's not the third movie in chronological order. I will leave with that and hope you both have a lovely day.
Vin and Michelle originally did not want to come back for the sequel. Also heads up Tokyo drift takes place in between furious 6 and 7 even tho it came out way before those. Keep that in mind when you watch but everyone returns in the 4th one!
Glad you both are watching this series. I didn’t watch them until 6 was in theaters and that was my first. Loved it and went back to watch the others. This always was my least favorite but as I got older I liked it more and more. 5 is probably my favorite.
The introduction of Tyrese really brought me back. I used to see Demo Derby cars being carted around on trailers all the time growing up in southern Sweden.
The main reason why Vin Diesel was not in this was he wasn’t doing sequels at this time. He later rejoined the series after Universal made a deal with him on some ownership rights to this series and the Riddick character from Pitch Black movie. The car scramble scene was a copy of the car scramble scene from a movie from the 80’s called Catch Me If You Can. Not to be confused with the Leodinardo and Tom Hank’s movie with the same name.
Fun fact: When Brian slid his car at the start, that was him doing his own stunt. Also, the type of car he drives in this series of movies is usually some kind of JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) car, which you guys will learn quite a bit about in the next one, which he isn't in hahaha. The car in the first movie was a Mitsubishi Eclipse that got blown up, and the replacement is another JDM classic, the Supra. Paul lived cars inside and outside of the movies, I would highly suggest looking into some of the car collection he had, and the lengths he went to respecting the culture etc...
All the cars you see in these sequences are actual car owners who were asked to include their cars in this movie for exposure. 35,000x 4 is more than enough to fix the damaged car.
Cole Hauser as the main antagonist in this movie I think is what actually made it so good. From “Dazed and Confused” to playing Rip in “Yellowstone” (a series you REALLY need to make content for) he became a really really intimidating type personality on screen right after he did “Pitch Black” with Vin Diesel. Good watch and keep it coming!
@@TVFlix Even though I've known he plays Rip for a while my brain, for some reason, still refuses to accept it. I feel like those people who always say "such and such was replaced by a clone" because I still struggle to see it. >_

That's not what she was saying, but yeah that was also brought up in the last reaction (or at least in the comments to them). She was saying car enthusiasts going to see the _movie_ release. It was oddly worded and the placing considering the scene on screen so it's understandably confusing.
Saw 2F 2F in theatres on opening night. I watched again on the DVD, rented it from blockbuster. In the special features, there was a short film called "The Turbo-Charged Prelude". A catch-up story about Brian going rogue after F1. For this one, I did like the new characters, friends and villians. Tej (Luda) and Roman (Ty) were nice additions. Especially Roman with his snarky, anger and funny demeanor. A cooler blend of tones. The 'buddy action' thing was a nice touch. The driving was still on point (as always). The post-credit sequence was fun cause it looked like a video game. Soon after that, Fast and Furious games were coming out. Paul Walker & Tyrese did indeed become the best of friends over time. In the course of 5 films, you could see it and that was a beautiful thing. The late, great John Singleton made all kinds of movies for 20 years. Rarely is he mentioned when talking about The Fast Saga. Because he made a movie that was a good 'first' sequel and it would lead to bigger things.
@@thequiet5727 It does so now maybe, but when it came out i never expected Vin Diesel to be in it, since Brian was the main character in the first one. Personally, when i do a F&F marathon i only watch 1, 2, 4, and 5. I like 3 as well, but i watch it as a standalone movie.
I'm glad you guys are giving this series a chance. Personally, the third movie, The Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift, is definitely my favorite movie in the Fast and Furious franchise. Mainly because I used to live in Japan before when my mom was in the Air Force. Twice actually. First time I live in Japan was 1 year old so I don't remember lol. But the second time I live in Japan I was 15 in my sophomore year. And man living in Japan was one of the best years of my life. And watching Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift just bring so much good memories and nostalgia of the time I used to live in Japan. A very underrated movie!
This movie is very nostalgic for me. My brother and I would stay up way too late watching this on an old tiny box TV at my Grandmothers place when we were kids.
Another Fun fact: The guy playing the crooked cop that Verone threatens with the rat?? Also played a crooked cop in Batman Begins. He was Gordon's partner.
I don't know how many movies you have already watched, but in my opinion it is a good idea to skyp tokyo drift and watch it after the sixth movie. For a first time watcher this is better because of the storyline. Else it is pretty confusing for someone without any knowledge about the movies. There won't be any explanations for the "strange" stuff :D

People always talk about how crazy the movies got but they always had the makings of what they became. Look at the electric grappling hooks in this movie, heists on moving trucks in the first one. Jumping a car from land to ship.
This one was directed by John Singleton 🙏🏾🕊️who also did Boyz n Hood & Baby Boy with the latter also starring Tyrese that plays Roman Pierce in this franchise/ Michael Ealy is one of the drivers at the beginning of the movie that went to have a amazing movie career after this movie

the main reason why Vin and Michele wasnt back for this movie was because of contracts they were already part of for other movie projects. it was all about timing. I can't wait for Tokyo drift it's my favourite FF MVOIE but also one of my favourite movies of all time! 🍿 it really pulls you into that world/culture such a whoelsome vibe 💯🔥
I think the first three movies can be kind of rough while they figure out the direction of where they want to go with the franchise. F&F really gets into their groove from the fourth film onwards. I hope you two stick it out and continue to react to the other movies.
I wouldn't call them rough - the OG trilogy is focused on racing sub culture with each movie being loosely connected with the others. The rest are Marvel-esque universum movies with cars in them. These 2 eras target two completly different audiences
Just starting the reaction, but I just wanted to say, the trash can and the rat scene is one of the most terrifying things I remember seeing as a child or young adult. That stuck with me and I actually forgot it was from this movie until years later 😅
One thing i love about these movies is the first few they had people show up to a meet to find what cars to use in the movies so most of them are actually car built by car enthusiasts that they incorporated into the movie
I remember loving this movie and Zuki was just my favorite character. Wish she would come back. I love the introduction of Rome and Ludicrus. They became part of the family here. Love it
FOR THE FAMILY! I love these movies, they are fun and RIP paul walker. I was devastated when I found of his passing. Seen everyone since the 4th in theatres, and it's been a great ride, and I go into each new film expecting it to be more ridiculous. (Fast 5 is my personal favorite though) Also car person here, it certainly tickles my fancy seeing Paul drive the cars that I have had in real life, almost surreal feeling.
Here's a tip: after watching this movie, you should watch better luck tomorrow (2002) & then the 4th movie until 6th movie. Because the 3rd movie (tokyo drift) is the direct sequel to the 6th. Then you can watch the 7th movie. Edit: before watching the 4th movie you should also watch the prelude, los bandoleros.
I may very well be inaccurate, but I believe that gun that shot Brian's Skyline was a localised EMP clamp. It attaches to a vehicle and disables all of its electronics. Instead of a large radial pulse it remains localised to its target. At least that's what I'm assuming. It seems to explain the electrical failure of Brian's car.
I can’t wait till Jen watches the 3rd one and what her reaction to that movie will be. If you do watch the entire franchise all I have to say is hang on it will all come together just enjoy the ride 😀

14:42 Legendary!😂
Ejecto Seato cuzzz!!😂😂Iconic
I think the first three movies can be kind of rough while they figure out the direction of where they want to go with the franchise. F&F really gets into their groove from the fourth film onwards. I hope you two stick it out and continue to react to the other movies.
I wouldn't call them rough - the OG trilogy is focused on racing sub culture with each movie being loosely connected with the others. The rest are Marvel-esque universum movies with cars in them.
These 2 eras target two completly different audiences
@@alus992yup because i Think the complete opposite of the OP
Holden make sure too watch Number 4 next. And skip 3 and comeback too it after number 6. It'll make more sense that way
Just starting the reaction, but I just wanted to say, the trash can and the rat scene is one of the most terrifying things I remember seeing as a child or young adult. That stuck with me and I actually forgot it was from this movie until years later 😅
I SAID FORGET IT ABOUT IT CUHH!!!!!!!!!!!
Also fun fact. the actor who plays Carter Verone also played Rip wheeler from yellowstone.
14:41 almost choked 😂😂
One thing i love about these movies is the first few they had people show up to a meet to find what cars to use in the movies so most of them are actually car built by car enthusiasts that they incorporated into the movie
This the best one, can see the smile on Paul walker real before it became the Avengers and started to look bored🥹
18:45 - "I never pull out" 😂😂😂
Small fun fact: Paul walker (Brian) and Sung Kang, you’ll see in the next movie (Han) are actually huge car hobbyists
“That would never happen” yes yes it would 🤣🤣
The weapon that agent markham shot on brian car was a ESD which stands for electrical system disabler its a harpoon launchers to stop speeding cars
I could eat a cherry tomato for an hour
Love you're going down the F&F rabbit hole. I can't wait to see what you think of the movies starting at movie 6
And then 8 9 and 10
@@emosam07no then 8, Hobbs & Shaw, then 9 & 10
1 👉 Turbo Charged Prelude 👉 2 👉 Better Luck Tomorrow 👉 Los Bandoleros 👉 4 👉 5 👉 6 👉 3 (Tokyo Drift) 👉 7 👉 8 👉 Hobbs & Shaw 👉 9 👉 10 👉 Hobbs & Reyes 👉 11 👉 12
Vin Diesel also said a female-led spin-off was in development.
@@masreg i keep forgetting about hobbs and shaw.
And then 11 and 12 after they come out
I have a LEGO model of that silver and blue Skyline in the beginning of the movie. I LOVE that car!!!
I’m glad you’re finally watching these movies, cuh.
Oh Boy!...Next up is FnF Tokyo Drift!......Holden & Jen are gonna SO dang "lost" on what Drifting is....lol....Can't wait!!!
The face on Jen when she saw that rat was hillarious.
Jen coming through with the coolest shirts once again
I may very well be inaccurate, but I believe that gun that shot Brian's Skyline was a localised EMP clamp. It attaches to a vehicle and disables all of its electronics. Instead of a large radial pulse it remains localised to its target. At least that's what I'm assuming. It seems to explain the electrical failure of Brian's car.
“Why are you wet?”
“Did she swim there?” 😂😂
I can’t wait till Jen watches the 3rd one and what her reaction to that movie will be. If you do watch the entire franchise all I have to say is hang on it will all come together just enjoy the ride 😀
