Yeah I was forced a few weeks ago I didn't even know that was happening yet lol I never liked origin anyways tho so I don't care too much. It was easy to log in and nothing was changed in my game
i bought a new laptop today, so ive been forced which im disappointed. I switched to EA before i got my new laptop and i did not like it. So now I don't even know where to put my CC, and Mods at.

I know that people have been periodically being switched over without consent since they announced the change, but EA wouldn't do them all at one time I don't think. The longer they wait, the fewer bugs there will be when they try to switch me.

My biggest issue with the EA app (and I haven’t even noticed until a month ago): Create a World for the Sims 3 has stopped working. If you try to edit your world in game it just starts the Sims 3 per usual.
That’s sad and I truly believe EA should work on making things compatible, even when switching the app. I never used CAW a lot, but really wanted to recently, and I just couldn’t edit any of the lots because of the issue above.
Let’s hope they fix this 😢❤😂

Your sims 3 still launches?? I was forced to switch to the EA app and now my sims 3 doesn’t even open. I have no idea how to fix it either. The suggestions I’ve seen online haven’t worked for me. :(
@@TinaaTurnUp I have had the issue of sims 3 being a little iffy with starting many times with origin. Then when I switched to the ea app it kinda mostly stopped opening, BUT I have found something that works every time now! I can write instructions here tomorrow (it’s 2 am lol) or send it to you somewhere else where it’s easier to read (I can then also send links) 😊

a lot of stuff for older games arent supported with the EA App, i had to reinstall sims 3 completely a little while ago and it wouldnt connect with the sims 3 stuff you might have bought from the website (such as worlds, content etc) it would install but then it wouldnt show up in game before uninstalling itself again. had to uninstall the app, get origin and fix it from there :( it also refused to install any DLC for dragon age origins.

Interestingly, my Origin forced me over a couple of weeks ago, there was no option to say 'download later' etc. Thankfully, all went smoothly, but I do miss the OG Origin!

@@plumsimsttv I just tried something that might work for you, I re-installed Jade Empire on a whim through the EA app, but it wouldn't launch. I had an old Origin install download on my pc still so I re-installed that and updated to the most recent version of Origin. The accounts are the same so I was able to launch the game from the Origin launcher.
I take it back. the EA app / site have been such a mess the past couple of days (despite working for months). constant log in problems, impossible to buy anything and other issues.. Guess EA themselves are telling me they aren't worth spending money on them.

Thanks for doing this. When I first heard this was coming, I was terrified. I had actually forgotten about this. I'm glad the change was so easy.
I switched back to origin so quick. I'm annoyed that the next Sims update I'll have no choice but to log in online and use the Annoying EA app that you can't even personalise the way you could Origin.
You can't even login offline to play offline. If you want to play offline you need to log in then select play offline. Like WTF!
I actually quite like the EA app, I changed to it at the start of the year, the one thing I found annoying is that it reset all my games' playtimes to 0 but I don't mind that too much and I see that it works properly in the video so it must have just been that I changed to it too early
I had this problem too when I switched to the EA app at the beginning of the year, but I then immediately went back to Origin. Origin forced me to install the EA app about two months ago but this time it carried over my playtime just fine. I think the new launcher is pretty decent

Honestly my playtime hours are somewhat of a badge of honor, but more of a badge of embarrassment. 😅 Sooo I really dont mind them deleting my hours...
@@minkym0m000 I still had mine. It locked me out of my account though, because I completely forgot what email 9 year old me used when I first got the sims 4 lol.
Yeah I thought it did so that means I've already used 8259 hours and counting with EA Play lol. I think I had about 12k hours with origin. When I'm not working at my job or family, I'm Simming in some way.
Trust me, you did not miss the “invite.” It wasn’t missable. When origin loaded for me the last time it basically informed me that it was time to update to the EA app.
As for my thoughts on the app, as far as I can tell my wish list is gone. I would like it back. If anyone knows how to access that, please let me know.
I do dislike the layout, but I’m sure I’ll get used to it in time.

So happy for this video because I thought I was tripping when I was trying to add to my account and it kept popping up as I had to update to EA tried 4 times to completely remove both and just read origin and nope the EA options pops back up. Makes sense now thanks for the video!!
I was forced to use the EA app instead of origin a few weeks ago - I literally wasn't able to use origin because they added an overlay linking to the EA app which you couldn't get rid off, not even when restarting.
few months ago, I already installed the EA app and had the most annoying issues with it - sometimes the app claimed I didn't own the sims 4 and sometimes it started without all the packs I actually own. I only found out that packs were missing when I was in CAS and thought "why do I have so little choice? I thought I had more stuff??" - so I had to restart the game and the app (twice) to have it work out. there's no way to see whether the game starts with all of tour apps unless you are actually in a save file or in CAS 🙃
so I searched the internet to somehow find a download link for origin again (it gets uninstalled automatically when you install the EA app) which wasn't easy. I managed to find it, but as I already said, I wasn't able to use it for long until I got forced to switch again (and there's no way back now). phew.
I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM except it took me 6 hrs almost straight and EA help was very unhelpful. still can’t play the sims using the EA app, every single time it just tells me to ‘restart to use’ my literal hundreds of dollars of purchased content. absolute BS

My number 1 frustration with the EA app is the inability to play with games offline. I experienced an internet outage and my first thought was to boot up TS4, but couldn't play it due to this limitation. I don't understand why this isn't a feature.
Edit: apparently this has been fixed? I ran into this issue last weekend and it blocked me from playing offline, but I guess it's resolved now lol.
How did you do it? I can't open the EA folder when offline. Therefore, I can't access the sims.

Even since I got the EA app my game has taken FOREVER to open and it's so annoying. My game took a minute or so to open when I had Origin but now with the EA App it just takes actually forever to open. I click the game at least five times because I don't think it's opening. It is the most frustrating things I have ever come across. I will forever be an Origin stan.
I've been using EA app since they announced the change and, so far, have only had two problems with it. When I first started using it, it didn't show Sims 4 in my game list. All I did to fix this was clear the app cache.
The biggest issue I've had with the new app is downloads. What used to take maybe 5 minutes now takes about 20, and sometimes it will just stop downloading randomly or freeze. So be prepared for that.

I feel like it may just be the opposite for me. The entire sims 4 game and add ons (minus just a few kits) downloads in like 20 minutes tops for me.
It used to download longer for me when I used to use Origin.
I’ve got a habit of uninstalling and re-downloading the entire game 😄
I still prefer Origin overall though!

I thought it was out of beta, but it says beta at the top of the page when u open the app. Also this is so stressful lol
So I finally reached the stage of having to switch and I have to say it went great! No issues. I personally like the setup and how it looks as well. I do recommend going into settings though and stopping the autoplay on load up. Your load time will go quicker. It showed all the hours I've played and the games I've installed. I have to say for once I'm pleased with an EA update! It's a feakin miracle it all worked out so well.

unfortunately reading replies here and twitter, it really does seem to be a lucky dip at the minute of how the EA App is gonna work for people. I’ve seen plenty of people say they couldn’t access their games on it or their store content was wiped, which was fixed by reinstalling Origin. Whilst others prefer the EA App and it runs smoother than Origin ever did for them. I will say, my EA App transition was fine as seen in this video and has been fine since but it loads the game up a lot slower than Origin. But I can’t say that everyone’s gonna be as lucky as me
If I were you, I would maybe hold off if you aren’t having issues with Origin, it’s still working as normal and you’re more confident with it. Seems that support isn’t caught up with all the issues that can be brought around with the EA App yet so I would personally stick with Origin until you cant. Also unfortunately EA haven’t been v forthcoming or transparent with information on the big switch since “in the new year” so there’s still no confirmed date.
Hope this helps and sorry that I can’t be more clear with info bc 1. there isn’t any and 2. everything still seems to be up in the air with how it’s going to install or not

I also just installed the curse forge for The Sims 4 in the original Orange games whichever you have that they use curse words for I was found in amazed it actually put all my characters in there and some that I had on an old account that I couldn't get back into because I forgot everything cuz I wasn't on for 5 years so I'm glad you took that leap of faith and hook yourself up with the EA it was scary for me too but I was down and amazed and I am standing amazed at curse forge too not too bad at all have a great day English slimmer I love listening to your tutorials

I just got the EA APP a week or two . Its NOT a bad app. I hears it had a few buggs at first so i wasn't sure. but when i got it it seemed to work good. So im glad i got this app. Im still playing with it. I got it for my sims 3 though on my pc since i don't have sims 4 on my pc. To make a ling story short. I did NOT have a pc at a time. I play sims 4 on my X box one console. But MAY swith sims 4 to my NEW X box S which i got for an X-mas gift. I like playing BOTH Sims 4 and Sims 3. Ty for posting this video. I absolutely despise the EA App for all the problems it caused with the Sims 3. EA treats this game like the ugly step child and it's embarrassing.
I had to reinstall all my downloaded content from the store when I switched to EA. I really don’t like it
So, if there are necessary updates ( for example with a new age group that they announced and is supposed to appear in January ) for The Sims 4, will it immediately redirect me to the EA app like for Origin and show me to update the game? I had to contact the help team bc the app itself wouldn’t install at all. They helped me literally the day I contacted them and they were really helpful. I wish I had been brave enough to contact them right when I had the issue, bc it happened in October and I waited until December to contact them 😅 the app works well for me now though!

I live in the UK and was forced to change over earlier this month. I simply downloaded, entered the same email address & password I used in Origin and had no issues.
my biggest issue with the ea app is that there's no wish list on there. and as someone who doesn't have all the packs, that's the first place i check when there are sales, so now i've had to keep track of which dlc i want myself and i lost the origin wish list completely.
also i haven't tested this in a hot minute but when i was using the ea app a month-ish ago, it kept logging me out if i had network issues - so i kept having to input my username and password every time which was a headache
Just write it down or remember it, hopefully they add that feature!

I personally love the EA app over Orgin. I've had it since September, I've had issues twice with the EA app early on when launching it to the point it was suggested to me by EA to uninstall and download again which did fix it, so you might want to keep the installer on hand just in case. I haven't had any issues of late with it. I find it so much easier to find things on the EA app. Sims3 and Sims4 both play better for me with very minimal lagging so now I can play with even more mods
I'm getting to the point of just nuking all my origin games and never looking back due to this EA app forced bs. EA is quite the nasty piece of work here.

I’ve been using EA app for I think a year now (I got a new pc last year and it recommended it so I tried it) it worked so well omg I was so happy because origin was so so so glitchy. Everything transferred over even my play time and I was o incredibly happy. I haven’t had any issues with it yet at all

Did your Sims 2 load up and play ok? I own The Sims 2 Ultimate Collection and don't have it installed so I'm worried that if I download and play it on EA app it won't work.
Hope, You try everything in your power, we always had problems with the app Origin in the past like updates, EA has always partner with origin, we had to through EA login to play Sims on Origin keep the faith
I personally love the EA app, but have only a few problems with it.
One tip for anyone that gets some lag; In settings there was an option to not autoplay the video animation that plays behind the game launcher, this made everything run faster instead of just pausing it every time.
I also hate that it constantly logs me out and even though I have the "remember me" box checked I pretty much have to sign in daily and it doesn't save my password for more than a day.

another problem i had was when i got a new laptop and went to the sims on the EA app it deleted all my progress even though it was the same account i had always played on :/
Origin did the same thing to me. It used to ask me to sign in every time I opened the app even when I had "remember me" checked off.

I hate that it logs me out too, but I had that same problem with Orgin so it's nothing new. (For me at least)
I switched a couple of weeks ago. It wasn't by choice - I went in to play Sims 3, via Origin, and it forced me to switch over to the APP.
I only use it for Sims 3 - but after the change, my main "save game" seemed to be corrupted and wouldn't load.
Also, some of the things that I had downloaded into the game (including paid for stuff) seemed to be missing from the APP version of the game.
Although I managed to find some of the things, when I tried to re-apply them to the game, they still didn't seem to work, and for a whole "set" of things I had to re-buy from the Sims 3 online store, they still didn't seem to be there after re-installing them.
I tried to switch back to origin but everytime I launched it opened a window instructing me to download the EA app and wouldn't let me do anything until I did...then it automatically uninstalled Origin 🤨

Is there any way to gift Sim packs through EA? I've been looking everywhere and I don't know if they support it since it's telling me to download orgin to gift. If I do gift using orgin would it transfer to their account?

I downloaded the EA app back when Beta was first announced. I don't like it as much as Origin, I still use Origin to run my game most of the time. When I double click on the desktop icon for Sims 4 it randomly picks one of the launchers, haha. Whenever I redeem codes I've used Origin as well so not sure how that works on the EA app yet. It was buggy at first but doesn't seem to have as many issues now. The biggest thing I've noticed is that some packs that I own I still have the option to buy, and they are still working in my game, so not sure what that's about. Like the launcher doesn't think I own them but the game recognizes them when I play, if that makes sense.
I'm just upset because you cant play offline with the ea app like i could with origin so if my internet goes out i wont be able to play the sims 4
I am so immensely annoyed with the forced switch to the EA app. I wanted to gift my friend a few Sims packs and the EA app doesn't have that function, unlike Origin. What were they thinking not including this feature?

The ea app is crash central. It’s constantly closing out of nowhere , crashing , signing me out , giving me error screens. I went to ea website and it says that something is going on with the app and they’re figuring it out. I wish I had origin. But it’s only for Mac now apparently

i dont know what is wrong but I recently got a new computer and tried to transfer the saves and everything to my new pc via usb but then in the sims 4 folder on the new device there are totally different folders! no saves folder just all the expansion packs, like i dont even know where to put the saves so that Electronic Arts find them

Can somebody help me? I recently bought the expansion University for the sims 3 on the EA app. I can’t seem too download it and it only says “ In game content” and that’s its an add on. There isn’t any downloads for the expansion. How can u fix this?

I switched to the EA app and suddenly I can see old games that I forgot I had - like MySims and Sims Pet Stories. I haven't tried loading them, but I remember them not working and then the icons disappearing on Origin many years ago.
The EA app isn’t available for Mac yet (last I checked) I’ve been having some really weird issues with my game lately that I’m hoping might be fixed when the app finally comes out.

Not a huge fan on the new EA app, i had updated it by accident thinking it was just an update for origin. There's so many complications, especially when it comes to play TS4 S4MP since you can't share an account (i have almost all packs while my spouse only has base) unless it's the origin or EA app. However in my experience, TS4 is apparently managed by steam on the EA app which makes it all the more frustrating. So far i haven't found a fix to only be able to download the game by itself on EA app without the use of steam. I still have an old exe file of origin so i witched back to it in a heartbeat.
I installed it when downloading to my new computer. Then uninstalled back to origin. I don’t cope well with change.
as of this moment week 3 of trying to reach out to ea help/forums about unable to play any games on their app cause apparently already running the only support ive seen that actually gets solved fast is with anything sims or fifa related.

After switching to the EA App, some games stopped running. In support, they do not try to help or solve the problem, but simply give links to users with a similar problem and somehow solved it. And it doesn't seem like they care about it and they'll sort it out. I switched back to Origin by disabling the annoying platform change suggestion. And I don't regret it. Everything works great. EA App is raw and unfinished.
How do you disable the suggestion bc the EA app crashes my entire laptop anytime I try and use it 😭

Very smart. Since I have the new app all kinds of problems appear from unable to install certain games to suddenly dissaperence of bf3 out of my library and only to be bought again!

im on mac and its not working and i can't use origin nor EA. i have tried so many things to use origin but nothing. origin works fine on my sisters mac with my origin info. I dont know what to do help.

i cant redownload origin because i’m on windows and i don’t have the option :( i bought 5 expansion packs on the sims 3 with my birthday money and 2 of them won’t show up. i’m so sad

I can not play my game i paid for on origin it says it is offline and can not upload the update. i tried to load EA and just got error message on inst message,
I was a bit scared to use the EA app because a month ago i got my first pack seasons i punched the code in the origins but they said it got installed into the EA app! and i didnt have it so i was confused after like a hour of trying to fix it i managed to and i didnt touch the EA app ever since i guess i have to do it and "stand up to my fears"
