Innit! I can't imagine being able to play this game with a full team of buds and not just 3 random Russian guys that don't speak/care if you live of die :D
What i like most about havoc is the fact that it forces people to lock in and actually strategize. I can not tell you how many times games have been completely lost because allies on the strike team were off doing their own thing worried more about who gets to kill more elites so they can have their name pop up on the feed. And im not condemning them. Doing so would be hypocritical. I do that all the time when playing causally. Its a game after all. But dear god there is nothing like the feeling when your team locks in ,and y'all synergize perfectly. And with havoc that happens throughout the mission. Even without a mic. We dont even really need to communicate we all know our roles and how to play them perfectly. Its sooo satisfying. Another thing is competency. In casual I always have to be looking back and forth between objective/enemies and my allies to make sure they arent lollygagging. But not in havoc. I dont have to stress over my teammates even if they're out of coherency cuz i know they can take care of themselves. Havoc is by far my favourite update aside from the class overhaul.
Well just make sure you come across the right teammates because I been in that same shit for the longest son 👌🏾 so you ain't the only one who come across people acting or just the game Dead as Fuck🤷🏾♂️
thats kinda why i really like the way shooters are in havoc. if you arent paying attention, you die quickly, but if you are paying attention and coordinate with a team, then entire rooms of shooters can be occupied really easily. in a good stack, you only need to tell them when to start diving ranged, not who they should be diving. you just know that if you can occupy gunners, the other people on your team will occupy different gunners and every single one will be dead or engaged in melee. i dont think the mode is particularly hard, but i do find it engaging because if you arent engaged you melt super fast. in a stack, i still have to focus to not die in havoc 40 but in a i-ii-v-e-g, i can pay no attention to the game, not be punished for it, and itll still be a walk in the park if i play with the same people.
I play with my dad and a friend about his age, so we generally just stick to the casual difficulties and I go rabid for kills. I beat havoc 40 with two psykers and two zealots. Also I know ogryn can beat it because I played with one. Teamplay and not going down are the most important factors imo
It's very obvious that every build on every character can clear Havoc 40. It's not this massive jump in difficulty some people are making it out to be. I've seen mechanically unskilled players who have completed Havoc 40 running around. The real thing that makes Havoc easy is teamplay. It matters a lot more than build. A good premade with OK builds will have a significantly easier time than a random group running entirely meta builds unless at least a couple of those randos are extremely good. I did a random Havoc 28 where I happened to get matched with PewPew. We duo'd the run while the other 2 more typical randoms spent nearly the entire match dead. This run was easier than the earlier 25 I did where I basically had to solo the entire thing because all 3 of the randoms were dead most of the time. Most players can't stay alive long enough on Havoc to provide enough enemy distraction to make things easier for the better players, so one skilled person going into a random high level Havoc essentially has to solo it, and the fact of the matter is that most of these attempts will fail.
My favorite auric maelstorm missions were 4 zealots ones Even though it felt increadibly difficult, the constant combat and feats of rage, prayer and deception did carry us through
